There are 3 ladders in this mod. The first two ladders are in the main hall. However, the standing ladder is just decoration. The second ladder becomes accessible later in the game and lets you reach the upper floor. The third ladder is in the Operations Room with the map. This ladder only works if you manually grab it and climb it. To do that, you need to enable handclimbing ladders in the menu. Unfortunately, the teleport function does not work with this ladder.

Hello! Usually, you can install the mod by simply clicking the "Subscribe" button on this page. That’s all you need to do. When you then start the main game, you’ll be able to select and play the mod.

Just finished playing this.

What a great job! I had a blast playing it, and basking in the RE2 nostalgia. The additional things added to make it Half Life driven were fantastic, as well.

What an awesome experience, had a ton of fun! Really loved the attention to detail. Was a tense experience but quite a blast. Like the comment below me, also had an issue with the projector, but reload fixed it. 10/10.
Do you have any recommendations of other maps with this much polish?

Just Finished the mod and i have to say its brilliant, i enjoyed every single step through it. Had a problem with the projector once but a reload from autosave solved it. Amazing piece of work.

@Gravy Thanks for your feedback! Spoiler: In the "Operations Room" at the end of the West Corridor (the room with the map), you'll find a portable ladder. Grab the ladder with both hands and place it under the broken window on the wall. The game auto-positions it. With “Hand Climbing” enabled, you can grab the ladder and will be teleported to the other side. Sadly, auto-climbing doesn't work here. This puzzle is quite unusual for HL:Alyx, so feedback like yours really helps me understand where players get stuck. I hope that helps.

I found an area where it says I can fit through a window (first floor) But I have no idea how to actually get into it - any advice? Great map btw its so cool

I played again and everything was fine this time, but i did not use one single quick save, only autosave.
I only had a bug where one of the elctric zombie was up but no electricity on him and impossible to kill, have to doge him when i have to go trough this area later on.
This mod is so good that it's too short :)

I really enjoy this mod.
I never played the resident evil game related to this map but i know this map because it's a map in the game dead by daylight and it's fun to be able to roam it in a different scenario. ^^
About my problem, i think it's a bug of the game due to quick saves.
I think the quick saves are not saving everything properly and create bugs.
I had seen lot of tyimes in the game that objects on the floor aren't saved when we use quick save and reload.
I will start a new game tonight to see if the problem is still there.
In my actual save, when i am near the crafting station, I can use the multitool on it but it only do the rotating movement and there is no electric spark and nothing more happen.
The problem is that i don't have the blue glowing representation of the gun to put it in.
The place where i must put the gun is empty.
I will try with a new save to see if it's a bug (which i think it is.
I will keep ytou informed

@Fun Cat™ Hey, to be honest, I didn’t expect anyone to actually install all the upgrades. Basically, I didn’t change anything about the crafting system from HL_Alyx. But I can say that there isn’t enough resin available to get all the upgrades. You should be able to find around 100 resin in total.

According to my research, the pistol has 4 upgrades: laser, burst, sight, and bullet reservoir. Unfortunately, I can’t offer you a solution right now, but I really appreciate you reaching out. I’ll add your message to the bug list, and maybe a solution will be found in the future.

Hi!
Is there a limit to the upgrades of guns?
I have lots of resin but the crafting machine allowed me to change my pistol 3 times and now it seems dectivated.
Is this a bug due to quicksave?
I tried to get back with an auto save but there is no savces where it work (and in all the saves i already have 3 changes for the pistol.

@JediPunk Yes, yes, yes! I make it! I managed to get the eagle coin and then move away the red chair blocking the door to the maproom, finally I escaped successfully! It's so great to finish the game and It's so great to the your help. Thank you once more, I can't wait no longer to see the "under floor" chapter but I know that will probably take you another 500-hour time and energy, It's a great project. Spoiler warning!!
If you’ve picked up the golden coin from the safe using the code from the archive room with the projector, and you try to get to the main hall through the door in the same "Office West" area, an alarm will go off and a few Combine soldiers will storm the waiting room on the other side of the reception. The door to the main hall is locked, and you’ll need to find another way.

So, go into the small anteroom in front of the archive with the projector. There’s a zombie sitting at the door, and a chair is blocking it. You need to either lift or shoot the chair to open the door. Then you can move backwards through Corridor West toward the main hall.

I hope that works for you! I’d be happy if you write to me again to let me know whether my instructions helped or not.

The second time:After I get the shotgun and get back to the hall, i put a box nest to the ID card door to get it stuck so that it won't closed.The method works out. I get the eagle coin in the west officeroom and get back to the hall successfully. But! When I shoot and kill all combine guys and try to get through the west officeroom to get the eagle coin, the ID card door is closed! I can't get through the door to get the eagle coin and I get stuck again.
May you fix the "bug"?My suggestion is to place a ladder next to the windows so that I can cclimb up the ladder and get to the electronic-monster path, kill these busters, get the battary, open the force shield, get to the hall, and finally get out of the R.P.D.

Hey buddy, I really like this mod and I play with it two times. But I'm stuck now.
The first time: After I get the shotgun and get back to the hall, the only path to the west officeroom is to across the door with a ID card,and at that time the door is opened by the ID card found in the photo room. But then I get the eagle coin in the west officeroom, the ID card door gets colsed! I guess I have to get out through the document room, but indeed all the doors are closed, and there is no ladder to cross the windows where I just ger through by the ladder in the other side. I can see some electronic monsters standing near the doors waiting for me bug I can do nothing. I get stuck in the west officeroom and the document room.

@Kaio Hey, I’m happy you like the atmosphere. I think the physical climbing should work, but the automatic climbing by holding the stick might not. Maybe it helps to load an autosave point. You could also check the game settings to see which climbing functions are enabled, and then activate hand climbing ladders.

Great atmosphere but I seem to bee stuck in the first map room. I put the ladder near the window, even broke the g lass but can't clim the ladder . . .

@AVNG77 Hello, thank you for playing! I appreciate your positive comment.

Sometimes the handle on the shutter door on the east side gets stuck and doesn't trigger the door to open. This usually happens to me when I move while pushing the handle down. The only solution I've found is to load an autosave and hope it works ( or cheating).

If you move around while grabbing some physics objects, it can get stuck in the world. I think it's the same issue here. I could probably avoid this by using a bone-animated switch handle instead of a physics-based one.

map is great, but i got soft locked after dying and losing the bolt cutter, tried reloading a save and sadly i cant re-find them, should make them respawn in the red chest in the lobby after finding them in case they get lost

I have played over multiple hundreds of HLA mods and I would put you in the top 5. II love this map and I am looking forward to playing it again!, very creative, imaginative, you have a real talent for this kind of thing and I hope you continue. Your mod is so good I would pay money to play it...

Great map! I really enjoyed going back to the Resident Evil 2 police station.
Only thing is that in the begining of the map there isn't enough ammo, When I reached the flying drones I didn't have enough ammo to kill them all. I had to let then into a room and then quickly close the door to trap them otherwise I was just dead. Anyway I finished the map and it was really fun.

@JediPunk no need to apologize at all, no harm done. I do tend to criticize a bit more than most, but I always make sure to add in positive things about the map as well and let people know how much I enjoy the mod they took their time to make.
Having that failsafe (ha, pun intended) is pretty genius, I honestly thought I just guesses the code, that's some forward thinking level design right there. Glad you thought of that.
Again, we're all good, thanks for the response, you did great on your map from what the limited HLA map resources you have. Hope you do more in the future.

@Hypernukeleosis Hey, I want to apologize for my personal remark. I appreciate that you're such an active observer. I think it was inappropriate of me to say something like that. Thank you for your feedback.

Once the film reel didn’t automatically snap to the projector for me either. That’s not your fault, and there’s not much you can do about it. Given the circumstances, I hope you didn’t take my comment about the code as an insult. I still want to apologize, as I assumed the projector was working. I know the thing with the code might be a bit confusing, but I thought the issue could also be helpful. Aside from the deposit room code, which is fixed, the other two codes are open. That means you just have to tap the numbers enough times to open the safe. I left it that way because I thought it would reduce player frustration, and it wasn’t important to me to make players fail at these codes. I’ll add it to the bug list.

I'm sorry for the confusion and any inconvenience.

@JediPunk I do tend to be critical, I really don't mean to be, especially since I'm just some smuck who like playing HLA mods. Like, I couldn't make these maps. I just tend to point out things that happen to me in my playthrough, I often comment right after I get done so it's usually fresh in my mind.
Okay, I watched that part on Arokh's video, and it did NOT snap into the projector, no matter what I tried. I figured it should have gone in there, but it didn't. @Hypernukeleosis Hey, to be honest, I always fear your judgment a bit because you’re very direct and seem quite critical. I don’t think you mean any harm, especially since you also mentioned how much you enjoyed my map.

The fact that no hints are shown for you and other players is really unfortunate since they displayed just fine for me. If you check out my private playthrough, you can see these hints, which provide clues like "boltcutter" or "ladder." It was meant to be a bit like the old Resident Evil games, where the player would receive environmental messages from the character.

@xtech16 Hey, thanks for your positive remarks. I can only say that the issues you and other players described have also occurred for me from time to time. Unfortunately, they varied from playtest to playtest, and I wasn’t able to reproduce the errors. Often, loading a save file helped me. I hope you still enjoyed the map. Maybe I overestimated my skills a bit.The intermediate door you described (a chair, box, and zombie block it) can be opened by either damaging the chair/box or picking it up. I guess it’s not a perfect solution...

Awesome mod that rivals the OC for visuals. Unfortunately, I seem to be soft locked. I have the bolt cutters, the gold coin, and the SMG. I can hear the Revivers and see the flashes. I watched Arokh’s playthrough and he entered the “back office” from the hallway and went out the other door to the room with the map. That door is locked for me and there’s no other way around or out that I can find. Did I miss a trigger somewhere?

Hey JediPunk, played your level the other day and it's pretty awesome, tons of detail and great pacing too. Really fun to play and a lot more involved than I thought. I recorded my playthrough and it was great going through it.
A few things though of course. 1. The ladder to the window wasn't obvious. My hints never came up and I know I have subtitles on too. 2. No idea how to find out the safe code in the Archives, I literally guessed 36** and it opened both safes. I truly don't know what I missed in Archives. 3. Having 3 Revivers in a hallway was to much, especially since you only needed one battery from what I could find.
Other than that, it was really great, you did a fantastic job. One of the most detailed maps I've played.

Amazing map, great combat, felt like i was in a new game, only a few thing that didt fit perfeclty, like the chaincutter didnt want to get into the wrist pockets idk why, and the electric zombies were bugged? i could kill them only 1 out of 3, but I could guess it is part of the expirence?

Really hoping you get to make a second part!
