go as slow as you can when emptying nets
if i understand correctly:
instructions above are to stow the net safely so you can dock/move off
to fish only the cables on the boom need to be connected, deck winches can be stowed.
swing boom all the way back
lower net
make sure "retract" nets button is not pressed so net expands
make sure "catch release" switch is not not flipped
net should always look like a net lol
i will update description with clear instructions on setting her up to fish but hope this helps
Totally agree about your notes on weather, for her main test run i went to the arctic and back fishing and with a 250kg crate on the sliding track, through some 70% winds. Didnt sink but i dont reccomend it lol.
she's too small and in the huge swells just gets tossed about like a cork.
anyway, happy fishing everyone!
A buddy and I have eyeballed the range to be almost, if not, 200 Km this was on cruise gear and scarcelly running bilge and gen. Never had any issue with the nets that couldn't be resolved in a sec by pulling hard enough.
In response to what the author said just below, I believe it'd be best to keep this version affordable and make a new one with greater improvements, either to its systems, its hull or its capabilities. This is just my modest opinion.
Definitely my favourite vanilla trawler nowadays.
more long term i'd like to include some pots, new fish finder etc, but whether that makes it into this version or the pending upgraded pingu verion will depend on cost
increased charge rate
added elec charge point
can't afford another battery and still be on budget :(
i plan to make an few upgrades now i've made some money fishing, i'll publish the delux version seperately once its done. this boat is rather limited by needing to be less than 20,000 and theres a few things (fish finders, cold weather gear etc) it doesn't start with.
as a rule i just ran genny all time when engine running and minimised power usage at night
i think you raise a good point though, the elec power balance is a bit harsh, going to increase power output of genny and add a elec charge point. thanks!
its slow but it works!
