pretty sure this mod is abandoned
NSFW Gamer May 27 @ 1:58pm
I love the concept of this mod, and how it tries to do the job of 5-6 different mods in one, but I've ultimately decided to stop using it because the bugs and behaviour were getting annoying.

For my full post about this, please see the discussion I started "Problems with Dollhouse"

@Boyrdee can u explain what u mean?
Boyrdee May 25 @ 1:24am

Boyrdee May 25 @ 1:23am

Xecutor May 24 @ 3:00pm
The strange thing is that using unrestricted customization and such just seems to crash my game on boot up. this is the only one that actually worked
Lem0n_Sucker May 21 @ 2:31pm
@Xecutor
I think it's honestly just Project Dollhouse at this point. I'm having the same issue, along with you and somebody else.
Lem0n_Sucker May 21 @ 2:29pm
My avenger UI completely disappears when using this mod, and it's ONLY this mod. I've tried four campaigns trying to figure this damn bug out. Somebody else has had it, it's extremely annoying.
Fenix Hunter May 20 @ 7:12pm
I have no idea why but for some reason, the eyes on the Spark's heads no longer shine. I can alter the colors on some of them but they're no longer emissive
Soul May 8 @ 9:19pm
Yes,use Unrestricted Customization instead,Project Doll seem to have a LOT of problems and no updates on it so far so its quite unstable
Xecutor May 8 @ 5:19pm
been using the mod in game i got quite a few mods installed. mainly starwars and after a couple minutes of playing all menus just disappear and the game is unplayable. any advice?
Blixtgordon11 May 6 @ 10:46am
Same problem as @RAAMPEAK wepon color is not working and when i turn off the wepon customization the wepon gets grayed out and can not acces
RAAMPEAK May 1 @ 4:31pm
color of weapon doesn't change
Tommy Apr 29 @ 1:47am
Crash when apply skin of weapon.
DosTacos Apr 28 @ 11:06am
Every time I get a new armor tech or equip an advanced armor (like the EXO suit), my soldiers appearance randomizes. I have tried both the global and local tick boxes that are supposed to prevent this (I think?).

What gives? Am I missing something obvious or is this not a feature of the mod? Any help would be appreciated.
Shiv Stabbington Apr 28 @ 6:22am
for some reason, the RGB option, whether inputting a hex code directly or dragging the sliders, only works on weapons. If I try to use it to change colors of eyes, hair, skin, or body primary/secondary, it just...doesn't change.
Kelsiel Apr 27 @ 10:14pm
The customization menu doesn't appear with this mod on unfortunately
TheBadAim Apr 27 @ 3:30pm
For some reason both arms gets the same tattoo when trying to choose a tattoo for one arm

@Deast I don't know if this mod is still being worked on, but as for your build and customization issues, I think Project Dollhouse has low compatibility with major mods. I was hesitant to try this mod out for a long time due to everyone commenting about bugs, but I finally bit the bullet and it works fine for me. However, I'm not using any major overhauls like LWOTC, which I think may screw things up if you use it with Project Dollhouse.

Try running XCOM 2 with nothing but Project Dollhouse and see if you can build any facilities or if your characters randomly change hairstyles or colors. If everything works fine, start adding your other mods one-by-one onto your mod list. Eventually you'll figure out what doesn't mesh well with Project Dollhouse. If you want to use a lot of mods this process will take a while, but you should be able to figure out what works with PD and what doesn't.
Deast Apr 16 @ 10:14pm
is this mod still be worked on? I cant build or excavate things and the soldiers customization gets randomized.
complexevil Apr 13 @ 10:42pm
I like the UI and the simplicity of it. I especially like being able to click on an option to select it without being booted out the menu and having to go back to keep browsing. But right now, this mod causes my game to freeze if I stay in customization for too long. I'll be watching this mod, but for right now I can't recommend using it.
Swifty Magee Apr 10 @ 2:07am
Footnote to my custom race/soldier notes below: while I was able to get the Project Dollhouse UI to work with the customs, for some reason the ability to color individual armor parts doesn't work. So for example, my Argonian soldier can't color his torso and his leg armors different colors like the normal soldiers can with Project Dollhouse.

If I find a solution to this problem I'll post back.
Swifty Magee Apr 9 @ 11:37pm
If you are using a mod that adds custom races or soldiers and the Project Dollhouse UI is not working for that soldier, you must first add the soldier's "TemplateName" in Project Dollhouses' XComUI.ini file.

In the XComUI.ini, at the top should be a section called "[ProjectDollhouse.PD_UICustomize]". In that section you will find "CharacterTypeOverride" lines. Add your custom race/soldier "TemplateName" there.

For example, let's say you are using the mod "Allies Unknown:War of the Chosen" and want to add the Argonian soldier to Project Dollhouse. First, go to the "Allies Unknown Redux Species: Argonians" mod folder and open the "XcomAlliesUnknown.ini" file in a program like Notepad. You will see a line called "TemplateName", and in this example the name will be called "ArgonianSoldier". Remember that template name.

Continued in post below...
Swifty Magee Apr 9 @ 11:26pm
Now go to the Project Dollhouse mod folder and open the file "XComUI.ini". In the "[ProjectDollhouse.PD_UICustomize]" section, add the following line:

+PD_CharacterTypesOverrides = (CharacterType = "ArgonianSoldier")

This line tells Project Dollhouse to recognize the Argonian soldier type. Now save the file and launch Xcom 2. Go to your soldier list and check to see if your Argonian can now be customized with Project Dollhouse's features.

If you are using the Alternative Mod Launcher [github.com] - which you reallly should be if you are using any XCom 2 mod - editing the ini files can done easily through the program. Just highlight the mod in the launcher and at the bottom section will be a number of tabs for the mod. Click on the "Config" tab and you can then select what ini file you want to change with the drop down list. Once you've added your TemplateName line, click the Save button and launch the game to test things out.

If you are using Project Dollhouse and the XSkin mod and you're not able to change the skins of weapons, uncheck the option "[Global] Use Weapon Customization" under the Additional Settings panel on the right side of the screen when customizing your soldiers.

I know a user asked that question previously and found out how to change a setting in the Project Dollhouse ini, but the option is actually in-game.
RussianBreadstik Apr 3 @ 6:28pm
Not sure why, but for some reason this mod makes it impossible to build or excavate anything
Gunsupmate1 Mar 28 @ 12:54pm
i cant build anything with this mod enabled
Voltage Mar 25 @ 7:33pm
This mod has potential, but having my guys' outfits randomly change isn't great in any way. I would use the mod if it didn't have that one annoying issue.
steamt Mar 22 @ 3:50pm
This is not in a usable state, at least for me. Items with no name, soldier customizations changing. There are plenty of good things but it causes too many struggles.
Nero Mar 18 @ 6:42am
yeah soldier customization keeps getting randomized which sucks
Paul-verizer Mar 17 @ 2:01pm
i just did a binary search cause i had an issue and it seems this mod was interfering with my ability to do any research or build / clear rooms on the ship, i see some people have said the same
PaintedGamer Mar 16 @ 4:47pm
this mod kept randomizing my custom characters in my pool, never saving my changes at all. screw this buggy mess, go back to it's predecessor, grab 1 Mil Colors.
vinistrifezza Mar 15 @ 7:34am
this mod broke my hair color customization
every time i try to change my hair color it crashes the game
SophieBaybey Mar 14 @ 3:16pm
I absolutely love this mod so much. Is there any chance a future feature could be added to allow the player to scale individual body parts, much like they can scale the overall model? It would give the ability to make certain modded cosmetics clip less, or solve the issue of certain cosmetics floating away from the model on smaller torsos/legs/etc.
Grunt Mar 14 @ 12:25pm
do i have to start a new run to make this work?
Grunt Mar 14 @ 12:23pm
i have this problem where all modded names are erased and replaced with arms1, arms2 etc. how do i fix?
AndromedaSystem Mar 1 @ 1:23pm
also i guess does the cosmetics from other mods sometimes just being numbered have a fix?
AndromedaSystem Mar 1 @ 9:13am
does project dollhouse just not work for the allies unknown alien soldiers, like whenever I customize an asari for example the ui it adds isn't there and it loads all the cosmetics all at once?

do I have to add in a compatibility thing manually, and if so where could i find that?
ShadowDragon8685 Feb 28 @ 11:33pm
Found it: Found it. Users\[You]\Documents\My Games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame\Config\XComProjectDollhouseSettings.ini
ShadowDragon8685 Feb 28 @ 11:18pm
How exactly do I disable Project Dollhouse handling weapon customization so I can let XSkin do that instead? Project Dollhouse doesn't seem to show up in the MCM menus, and I can't find any 'Use Weapon Customization' option in the ini files that come with DollHouse.
Jedi G Feb 28 @ 8:54pm
Are there any plans to make this mod compatible with XSkin? I REALLY love the amazing customization this mods adds but it prevents me from using custom weapons.
Shrike Feb 25 @ 3:18am
I'd like to try this mod out but unfortunately it has two major drawbacks compared to UCR:

- UCR gets rid of the massive stuttering when browsing through different outfits, this one doesn't
- With UCR I can see part names from outfit mods, with this one it just says "Torso 35" etc.
GamerGirl Feb 24 @ 2:59am
Enabling weapon customization makes XSkin not work unfortunately. So I either can't customize my weapons or reskin them. :*(
adm1ral Feb 21 @ 9:37am
It's working much faster than UCR! But there is a bug :(

If I upgrade from Kevlar armor to exo suit or Spider suit, it still changes the appearance even if I disabled it from doing so.
kat Feb 20 @ 1:05pm
update: i got it working. you just have to both add the override in XComUI.ini *and* add a BodyPartTemplateConfig for the "Pawn" to XComContent.ini
kat Feb 20 @ 12:56pm
i added a new category of unit (non-skirmisher advent hybrids) to PD's override list, but the size scale isnt working for them. can i fix that by tweaking config files somewhere?
JiNeTe Feb 19 @ 2:17pm
When randomice, only choses vainilla armors
Narha Feb 16 @ 10:39pm
Some bugs: menus would appear on top of eachother when in The Avenger and some would stick on top of each other. The OBJECTIVES indicator on the top left would always stick, even when going into options which usually makes it go away.

After completing a mission and returning, on the post-battle screen where you get info on your squad (Promotions/bonds/tired/wounded/etc) so would the research-engineering-armory-command be on the bottom kinda in the way of the CONTINUE button.
Sometimes those research-engineering etc buttons wouldn't be there at all, which made it impossible to review soldiers.

It also made it impossible to build new structures or clear debris. I can click on a room, and it will move to it, but then nothing. Doesn't allow me to clear the debris or build anything; no options at all.

Disabling the mod makes it turn back to normal so I'm quite sure it's the Dollhouse mod making errors.
Malnormalulo Feb 8 @ 5:17am
@francini: I don't have that issue. Probably either your graphics settings or a mod conflict.
