Honestly, comparing this to deathwish just isnt possible, the time it took me to defeat the first wave of fleets after the unsealing already took longer than defeating the entire deathwish stellarborn (turned difficulty to the max, meaning red button twice and butterflie).
After finishing the first wave/hunting the remaining stellarborn in the galaxy, i refilled my fleets and counter attacked, when their reinforment/seond wave then came 30 days later (20 or so honorguard fleets) they completely demolished me, destroying about a quarter of each of my fleets before they went missing and in return i only got one of their fleets aswell as some of each fleets ships, this also happened later in my systems and I was then pretty much dead.
So i went and looked just how much military power they have and their designs...
Precursor Hyperion (Shimmering Butterfly class) had for me 63.05 G/B military power
Precursor Battlecruiser (Sword of Solaria class) had for me 3.51 G/B military power
Precursor Escort (Coastal Wayfinder class) had for me 4.85 G/B military power
(A fleet was composed of 4x Hyperions, 8x Battlecruisers and 16x Escorts resulting in a 357.88 G/B military power per fleet)
Pretty sure they would have been stronger but in the Ship designs only had utilities but no weapons. I play with Secrets of the Shroud, so that might have been the problem since perfect runic tech is prioritised over omega tech.
Gonna try again with an older save but a different fleet setup, lets look how that goes.
Checking the code there is an event that deletes everything they have (including starbases) when you win but idk why that might not fire. Don't have the time to test it right now.
As for the Divine Spirit, I worded it wrong, like their transport ships popped out after the Stellarborne erased the Outer Cluster (refusing the deal), and the Stellarborn still retained the control of occupied territory in spite of the lack of starbase. So I used command to destroy the remaining transport ships to see what happened, which only made the border gone but the occupied territory is still controlled by Stellarborne.
That's my major grip on the mod, the galaxy is still lost even when I fought and won normally.
The escalation is working and within the bound of expectation, but I thought the serious option would be like the Stellarborne spawned several Herculeans on the Outer Cluster and switched to their variation of warships (Nova Bender, Sunrinder, etc) instead of being annoyingly spammy.
I used the Annihilus Bombardment on the Worldsphere and somehow that destroyed the Worldspheres around Challenger of Destiny, because a mechanic I recalled about the Stellarborne is the more Worldspheres are active, the more ships they will send out so I simply did it the normal way.
Of course I fought the Arkship normally and won (refusing the offer because accepting the deal would the game when you ascended to be a Champion). But even when accepting the deal, I only got to control the Outer Cluster, the galaxy remained to be occupied by Stellarborne even without starbase.
If you didn't fight the Arkship using actual ships and beat them in combat and tried to use something like quasar cannons / dyson beams, they never lost but your save sure is.
They escalate from Escorts to Battlecruisers to Hyperions. Herculeans are defensive ships.
Serious option make their fleets larger, give stat buffs / debuffs, more aggressive fleets.
And as said on the mod page: Bonus difficulties are to be reworked and not well designed.
- The Stellarborne continues to occupy systems even after their defeat, the garrison base is gone but the ownership remained to be their.
- Even if you obliterate the remaining Divine Spirits, the border is gone but the ownership of a system is telling you they were owned by the Almighty Stellarborne.
- In short, the garrison event is broken and not working properly.
- The Stellarborne get real spammy with identical fleets instead of sending stronger variations, I didn't even get to witness Almighty Herculeans even after pressing the red option, just more spammy with fleets than the "serious" option .
I'm not sure all of these issues are intended (though the modifiers are bs as usual), but it caused more issues than should be when Stellarborne was just a Gray Tempest-like crisis.
Also, could you please add backup translation to Russian? That would be greatly appreciated.
No thanks buddy, i got enough Brain Damage from beating the Blokkats on Obliterator difficulty with only Gigastructural Engineering (Which I succeeded at after about a year of attempts), so I'm gonna give my brain some rest, will be noting this challenge though.
and a very long one too, apparently.
