Hi, just wanted to report a possible issue: the Hero Progression system doesn't seem to be working properly. Every time I complete a run, all the Hero Progression points I selected are reset, and the candles spent are fully refunded. Also, during the entire run, the Hero Progression bonuses don’t appear to have any effect at all. It feels like the system is not functioning as intended. Could you please check this?

I did my best to fix all the bugs caused by the Steadfast Steward update.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time to thoroughly test everything so if you notice any skill description issues (especially for Occultist, Runaway, or Plague Doctor) or run into other problems, please let me know!

Heads up!
Today's Steadfast Steward update introduced a lot of changes to the base game some of which directly affect this mod. As a result, a few hero skills and paths might not function correctly right now.
I’ll do my best to patch things up later today!

It makes enemies stronger but in return, you’ll receive a more stable version of the reagent that can be used on your own heroes.
It’s risky, but rewarding!

I’d say it makes the game more enjoyable overall.
I did add some slight difficulty adjustments, tougher mobs with more HP, higher resistances, etc. but the enhanced progression and reworked skills make the overall experience easier and smoother.
That said, there are some tough optional parts too, like the Unstable Reagent, Hunting Maps, or the Ethereal Prism that replaces Lairs and makes them quite challenging

- Added 2 new Pets!

Talking Skull
- Grants bonuses when you have Whiskey in your inventory!
- Can steal your Whiskey
- A drunk troublemaker that annoys everyone
- Can find any Indelible trinket upon arriving at the Inn

Elder Star-Thing
- Grants bonuses when fighting Cosmics
- Applies a random Cosmic Shift Token to an enemy at the start of each round
- When an enemy with a Cosmic Shift Token is killed, nearby enemies receive Negative Tokens (check the in-game token description for details)

* In Confession, new pets are unlocked via the Altar of Hope. In Kingdoms, they can be found in random camps or purchased at the Inn after upgrades.

Sorry for the confusion, I probably didn’t explain it clearly enough. The Trinket Enhancement Ritual doesn’t work on just any distant or vague trinket. It only works on specific ones from this list: Varying Trinkets List [darkestdungeon.wiki.gg]

Once I finish up the changes for the next update, I’ll make sure to update the item description to make this clearer

I seem to be having trouble with the Trinket Enhancement Ritual. It will occasionally work, but usually won't, when I have distant and vague trinkets in my inventory. Am I missing something? What makes a trinket valid or invalid?

1.Vague or Distant trinkets must be in your inventory
2. Use the Trinket Enhancement Ritual item on any hero (the choice of hero doesn't matter)
3. Receive the result - either the trinket is upgraded, destroyed, or, if no valid trinkets are in your inventory, you’ll get the Trinket Enhancement Ritual item back

Do you need to upgrade the hero's skills in the altar yourself by collecting candles or are they available immediately up to the maximum level - tell me, I can't understand something?

There seems to be some problems with the new beta patch. I'm not expecting you to work on that yet because these are experimental patches. But just posting it here in case anyone else has the same issue. Some of the new ritualist abilities conflict with the mods abilities, so they don't work as they should. I think it has something to do with the healing aspect of this mod.

I wonder, does this mod allow you to access The Mountain in the Altar of Hope? Also, what are the requirements to unlock the Mountain? To unlock all characters or unlock all of their progressions?

I'm just wondering whether it's because of this mod or because of some other mod that i have on.

The paths of the heroes are not available in the crossroads. I'm in act 3. There is something i need to do to unlock them more then the shrine of reflection?

I noticed that in Kingdoms, nightshade concoction doesn't heal fatigue anymore? Not a fan of that change given how important fatigue healing is without passing days

- DLC: The Binding Blade is no longer required to run the mod!
Huge thanks to the Red Hook team for updating the modding tools - this new setup makes it possible to load content conditionally based on installed DLCs.

- Reworked access to The Mountain (skins & palettes)
Since the mod now functions without the DLC, the old system - where The Mountain unlocked after completing the Warlord quest - had to be replaced with a new approach.

- Optimized various parts of the mod
Improved performance and file structure for better stability and easier maintenance.

- Preparation work for Abomination update
Initial groundwork is done - Abomination will be joining the roster soon!

IMPORTANT
I’ve tested the update as thoroughly as time allowed, and everything seems stable. Still, there’s always a small chance something slipped through the cracks - so please back up your save files just in case!

Hey! As soon as I have a bit of time, I’ll update the mod. Thanks to the Red Hook team, it’s now possible to split the mod in a way that prevents issues for players who don’t have the DLC installed. This will apply to the first DLC as well - so after the update, owning the DLC will no longer be a requirement

mmh, i can't tell if my luck is just that bad or there's something wrong with The Playing with Fate death trophy,, it wiped out my party after getting seven or eight 100 damage turns in a short time (which i felt was unlikely due to the fact that it's supposed to be a 5% chance?), with only two heals,, bbleh,,
