Have you consider (perhaps a toggleable option) to add some drawbacks to these? I was thinking that reading those books to learn a skill has a 20% (?) chance to impart either Void Fascination (entity liberation mental breaks) or Disturbing (uses strange chat interaction, causes mood penalty to listener) trait to the reader. Thematic, uses vanilla traits, and as option for those who want to seek a bit of negative in the name of balance. Food for thought. :)

Using 1.6 for some reason these books refuse to go into bookcases no matter what.

Thanks for 1.6. Never saw them in caravans myself, very rare. The best way to find them is to use "What's for sale?" mod and check settlements items.

Fut its literally base DLC abilitys when a anomaly wriedo wanderer spawns trys to join your colony this person spawns with these abilitys by default all this does is so you can make normies weird to.

Do the powers themselves not innately have drawbacks from Vanilla Anomaly? Unnatural healing for instance already has a chance to exploding body parts into flesh tentacles.

Also, obligatory "If you thinks its op, don't use it"?

this would be cool if it caused a headiff when u use it similar to "stoned on smokeleaf", to put an example, allowing to use the powers for the duration causing adictions and chances of random mental breaks, and now that i think about it this way the grimoires could be clasified as anomalys as the pawns dont get the powers but borrow them from the grimoire instead

Considering the split in the comments with a lot of people requesting negative effects, and some requesting none, seems the solution would be making it optional. Something users can toggle in mod settings. I think the high risk high reward thing is nice, but there's some runs I would want it and others I would not, depending on what other mods I am running/challenges I have built into the run.

So much folk here begging for negatives, but I'm like the way how it works now without all bad shit and gives way more flexible gameplay as well as not ruining relationships, makes another useless or half useless creep joiner and etc, just mine guy with same power from cool thing, and maybe all those negative beggers go and say ludeon to make any bioferite thing give you a 100% chance canser, or make idk, a planet killer start after you touching a monolith?

You should definitely make it so something bad happens when it's used, gain a negative trait, get older, get cancer, get infected with a metalhorror, initiate an anomaly event, lose some skill points, lose a limb or eyes, take 1 brain damage, get a mental break, start bleeding from everywhere, have multiple needs drop to zero, burst into flames, lose a passion. Preferably as many things as you can reasonably implement, then pick one (or more) at random.

They're rare, expensive and single use. I was originally considering adding a chance for bad things to happen when they're used, but I decided against it.
