Potato Gaming that’s not what this mod is for, it’s a graphical improvement to fire not a complete overhaul of vanilla fire

Make it so when colonists stay near fire for too long, they start to have a hard time breathing, because of all of the smoke in the air.

Is there a performance bug with this mod?

My colony didn't run as smooth as expected, so I went through my 1.6 modlist with 50~ mods, and I found out that removing this one nearly doubles my TPS. I can't say if it's a mod compability problem or not, but I presume not so since running this mod with the other bare minimum mods I need to play my colony still reduces the ticks. (I also had no fires on my map).

there's also VPE technically (Casper Cursed has a setting that makes rain stop appearing on fire)

As a Rimworld masochist, I want to say thanks for the "disable fire watcher" option. I recommend that anyone who wants realistic wildfires, or feels like they don't have enough problems to deal with in this game, give it a try.

Bonus: try it with Regrowth's denser forests, it might seem like it would be even worse but I think it makes the wildfires burn out faster, so you actually spend less time overall dealing with them.

@WolfOfAbyss to answer your question yes. If you want maximum performance make sure to go into mod settings and disable everything in it. Why this works I have no idea but it sure does.

Hey, sorry for my stupid question I lack still understand perfectly English, when it says “high performance” this means that the mod reduces the use of resources compared to vanilla fire? So I can consider this mod a fire optimizer?

Love the mod, but unfortunately this mod tanks FPS when you enable "lag free torches" in any of your usual tweaks and optimization mods. There doesn't seem to be an error that would give a hint, but I'm guessing some logic goes wonky somewhere?

Are you planning on updating Scattered Stones as well? Doesn't seem to work on 1.5.

Thanks for the update! Btw, I'm encountering these error logs on startup.

1. Attempted to load a graphic off the main thread: Verse.Graphic_Flicker: Things/Special/Fire

2. Tried to get a resource "Things/Building/Misc/TorchLamp_MenuIcon" from a different thread. All resources must be loaded in the main thread.
