Do you know which part of the thruster is targeted? I expect it to be the pivot point which is the base block. If it is on the exhaust side then I might have drawn fire a bit towards the armor surface and somewhat exposed decoy in the process.
@suntrip: Hitscan really only means that the shot hits instantly. You press the fire, and whatever is below the crosshair will instantly get hit. Its much easier to hit this way, as the opponent can't dodge a projectile, as with the non-hitscan weapons. The blocking thing here is one of the many weird things that EGS has and isn't really intrinsic to the hitscan mechanic itself.
I took this one out for some fun last night at core 7 with a couple of extra laser turrets, trying to do the Dronelands mission for the aux core blueprint so I could get the Marauder built. It went okay and I got my first four drone parts from a harvester, but then just as I got the next four from a second one, a Guardian swooped by and blew the rear off my Hydra. It had been bugging me for quite some time, but I hoped that I had time to loot 2 km away. Lesson learned, and combat virginity taken I guess :)
I usually find precision coring an unnecessary waste of time, but thats just subjective me. You do you :)
I was looking at placing some light railguns in place of the deco antennas on the bottom (either side of the decoy turret). To have something for precision shooting/coring. Would that make sense? I feel they're pretty exposed there but otherwise it seems like a suitable spot.
Alternatively I could remove a couple of armor blocks in the nose and bury them there but that would spoil the idea of the decoy turret I guess.
@AntonRollad6: That would require a complete rebuild of the bow structure. A simple copy&paste wouldn't work, as the Nightfall is much, much larger than the Hydra.
Im a new player and I'm working on building the Hyrda. But I also REALLY love the look of the Nightfall's bow. That open port/docking bay just looks sick as hell
I was wondering if you might have any advice on how to copy/mimic that onto the hydra in place of the forward/2nd bridge
Thanks for all the hard killer work and designs!
Not a hard rule obviously, there are hybrid use-cases where you would still want turbines. But simplified speaking, you need to be aware that every turbine could be a turret/weapon.
One question. Where do you add shield chargers and capacitors? :) Currently I've placed them on hydroponics area.
@rollinshultz: Nope will not fit in there.
@Zartan5000 : The video is at core 5 yes. But please be aware that it does require some good knowledge of the Imerat to know where you can hang out and what to shoot first. If you aren't familiar with that better do some upgrades first.
Will the Marauder fit inside it?
Nice ship, kudos o/
