Specialized Stockpiles

If people would just scroll a bit down and read the mod author's comment on coal and iron subject:
His MOD is very clean since it builds on the Vanilla categories only. Mods like 'No coal in houses' achieve their functionality by assigning coal to a different material category like would or iron - thus the placement in seemingless wrong stockpiles. The problem is not caused by this MOD but by the others. If another Mod changes the category for coal it is just logical that it will appear in some other stockpile due to that.

I do kind of wish 1x1 WASN'T an option.
Fat7i Bonané Oct 24, 2020 @ 1:59pm
There's also a mod that makes smiths make coal with logs, it can be useful.
Nemo Jr. Oct 24, 2020 @ 12:57pm
@Moss

I would advise so. Remove 'No Coal in Houses' and make sure you never run out of firewood -- some mods can help you to that end. And make it more convenient for the villagers to grab firewood rather than coal -- placing your blacksmiths away from the general populace and next to your ports / mines with lots of coal-specialized stockpiles around, is one solution.
Fat7i Bonané Oct 24, 2020 @ 8:50am
Indeed ! Wow. What do I do? Do I remove the stop burning coal mod?
Hakuro Oct 24, 2020 @ 3:52am
@Moss check out the Link in the description. There might be a bug by using other mods together with this one. Why? Because I only use this mod and never had a problem at all
Fat7i Bonané Oct 6, 2020 @ 9:53am
It's not cheating to dedicate stockpiles to particular resources, it's common sense. Here I am one year later hoping they fix the iron stockpile bug which allows coal to be stored.
Dido Feb 17, 2020 @ 6:23am
i feel a bit as if cheating.... but boy i love it. thank you ^^

虽然这个模块非常有用,但唯一不好的是关闭这个模块会使您的存档崩溃。
Simon Feb 16, 2020 @ 10:08pm
Although this module is very useful, the only bad thing is that closing this module will crash your archive.
Fat7i Bonané Dec 19, 2019 @ 3:42pm
There's a bug in the mod : the iron stockpile is also used to store coal which is very annoying. Any chance you could fix it?
Raziel Ryuki Jun 17, 2019 @ 10:48pm
Unsubbed as it's included in Colonial Charter.
Thumbs up!
ProBert Jan 3, 2019 @ 3:31pm
Very good mod.

One of the most useful mods for Banished!

Is this Mod Working with StorageMod? https://banishedinfo.com/mods/view/92-Storage-Mod
Mamma_Duck Mar 11, 2018 @ 12:42pm
This is a near perfect mod which will permit you to store resourses as closely as possible to where they will be used as is posible. Its only drawback is not really its fault, but rather the fault of the game structure combined with mods which prevent the termite brained people from burning up all the coal instead of firewood, which makes it much more difficult to keep your blacksmiths supplied so that they can produce steel tools. In my opinion, the ideal mod would have a button which one could use to switch back and forth between permitting or not permitting your people to burn coal, while still keeping coal out of other stacks.
Mamma_Duck Mar 11, 2018 @ 12:42pm
I have not been able grasp the archane art of programming yet, or I might try to make such a mod myself, or otherwise understand why it can't be done.

When it comes to choosing between the two mods, I'll choose this one unless I'm playin a map which limits the possible locations for a mine to one or two places (i.e,small map, few mountains). It's a great mod, and its creator deserves our thanks for all the time he put into bringing us this wonderful gem!
Kypamop Mar 1, 2018 @ 5:53am
Is there a version that prevents villagers from burning coal in their houses?
Zig92 Jan 4, 2018 @ 12:24pm
Thank You!
malize68 Dec 19, 2017 @ 7:19am
I just want to say -- I love my nice organized piles of mats. If nothing else this mod is a must for even the mildest cases of OCD :)
Sean Diaz Dec 17, 2017 @ 1:55pm
coulld this maybe geta small upddate for the colonia mod? or some other mod adds brickks, roof tillles and other feul sources... wouldd be great if i could store them seperateddly
Akiiirin Aug 29, 2017 @ 8:24am
One of my favourite mods hands down. Being able to place specific resources in places where they are most useful fills me with so much joy. I only wish it were possible to lock the piles to certain professions access. >.> If only.
Seeker Aug 26, 2017 @ 2:09pm
my favorite mod so far
BoneYard Jul 1, 2017 @ 9:38am
This mod is very useful for designating firewood storage. Thank you!
Lesandrya Jun 29, 2017 @ 5:50pm
if this mod is used together with the "no coal in houses" mod from "gyutaan", coal will also be stored in the "iron stockpile"
ziwil May 25, 2017 @ 10:33am
parfait pour le coté esthétique du rangement.
Treville May 10, 2017 @ 9:03pm
Works for me but Iron and Coal get stacked in the same pile.
delvr  [author] Apr 23, 2017 @ 9:05pm
To those who reported the mod not working: there might be a conflict with the new material flags in the latest Banished version. I'll take a look.
Dokend Apr 17, 2017 @ 7:15am
edit i got mine to work had to open my current save and enable it that way
Eclectic Fence Mar 20, 2017 @ 12:50pm
Yup, same here. Any chances of a fix as this would be a fantastic mod to have working.

It's nice having specific places to put things while playing this game, it makes some tasks go faster.

Thanks ! Very usefull. I had to disable it to validate an achievement...
Keen Aug 24, 2016 @ 11:08am
No option to build a specialized stockpile at all.
Captain Briggs Aug 18, 2016 @ 4:09am
This mod doesen't work anymore for me, could you look into it?

I can't seem to build any specialized stockpiles.
delvr  [author] Feb 29, 2016 @ 5:42pm
Just a reminder/clarification: if you get misplaced coal it's because you're using another mod that prevents coal from being used as fuel in houses. That is done by flagging coal as some other material category chosen by the mod author (generally Iron, but I've seen Wood also). Specialized Stockpiles only knows about categories and has no control over what items are assigned to which categories; it's not possible to have an item-specific stockpile.

So basically you have to choose if you'd rather endure coal in iron piles, or coal in house chimneys. :)
AoiKitsune Feb 26, 2016 @ 4:13am
I agree with Cal Vin, but my OCD says: If it is labeled IRON Stockyard, it should only stock IRON. Also, I built "Steph Grain/Coal Silo" near my blacksmith to store coal. (As I have yet to acquire grain.)

Great mod, thanks. The misplaced coal even works out in a way. I drop an iron near a blacksmith and so long as production is around the ratio, the stockpile remains stocked with only coal and iron. Near perfect. Just takes a little planning for placement. Cheers!

@SnipperKilleR - Just in case you didn't get yours working, I had the same problem but a different solution. I had to run the game as administrator and set the game to always allow downloads. (Running as Admin might have been unnecessary. I did both at the same time.) To set it to always download, right click the game in Steam>Properties>Updates (tab)>Background Downloads (section)>"Always allow background downloads". Then, completely restart Steam.

@delvr - Is THAT why there were so many duplicates? I always wondered about that. THat makes a lot more sense. I thought there must have just been a surprisignly large part of the Banished community that liked taking others' credit that had taken hold. Glad to see it might have been something else entirely.

Also, great mod. I didn't notice the bit about not cooperating with the "Stop Burning the Coal" mod, but I like them both enough to just put up with a bit of misplaced coal haha. Thanks for the work you put into making this.
shadow77794 Feb 1, 2016 @ 6:05pm
This is by far one of my favorites. Thank you for taking the time to make it.
willkyle2002 Oct 15, 2015 @ 8:58pm
I figured it out. Since I switched to windows 10 it had not given me permission to modify files. Just can to change the security settings on my documents to give myself that ability.
delvr  [author] Oct 14, 2015 @ 3:22pm
SnipperKilleR and willkyle2002: I'm afraid I can't help with a problem that affects all your mods. I suggest you post your question on the general Banished forums.
willkyle2002 Oct 14, 2015 @ 10:31am
I too am having the same problem as SnipperKillerR
LORD_K Oct 5, 2015 @ 10:53am
all MODs not working; My steam mods not working, i subscribe but mods still in updating 0% and never finish, and no work on ingame.

Where i can manual install (Folder)?
Desert Rose Sep 22, 2015 @ 3:35pm
hah just did a quick check. if you search in the workshop for stockpile youll find like. 9 extra specialized stockpiles xD now im just confused
Desert Rose Sep 22, 2015 @ 3:34pm
anytime ;) hate seeing people take the credit for other peoples hard work.
delvr  [author] Sep 22, 2015 @ 12:38pm
Thanks Desert Rose I left a comment on the duplicate mod's page. As I wrote over there it used to be so easy to re-upload a mod you had installed that some users might have done so without even realizing it. That's been fixed a while back so there should be no new duplicates popping up.
Desert Rose Sep 17, 2015 @ 8:18pm
a mod i always use. good for making specialized areas. also someone nicked your mod and even used the same image as yours just thought id let you know. he goes by simion0507 so yeah. not sure how many mods hes stolen so far. looks like a few as i have several of these mods already.
