I did a bunch of tweaks, but capping my FPS in RTSS (front edge sync) at 850 increased my lows the most.

All right.
Thanks!

ah ok, if average to average seems right thats normal then
emdeeL Oct 30 @ 10:48am
How exactly should I understand that when you say “averaged runs”?

Are you referring to, let’s say, the 5 consecutive runs themselves, or to comparing the averages of 5-run batches to each other?

Because average-to-average seems about right for me —
but within those 5 runs, I’m seeing pretty much everything imaginable.
Angel  [author] Oct 30 @ 10:18am
theres deff smth wrong its weird to get that much fluctuation over averaged runs, maybe something on your system or bad thermals
emdeeL Oct 30 @ 9:55am
Thank you very much for your reply.

I’m just not used to seeing a variance of more than 15% in other games.

And your suggestion of doing 5 runs is actually exactly what I already do.

I wouldn’t even mind a jump between the first and second run — that would be expected.
What surprised me, though, is that it keeps happening without showing any clear trend.

Even if I do more than 5 runs, I still end up with the same range of fluctuations.

But that’s acceptable to me if even you, as the creator of the benchmark map, confirm that this behavior is normal.
Angel  [author] Oct 30 @ 8:01am
youre gonna be hard pressed to get any benchmark to have less variance, even something as mundane as your pc heating up after repeating the test a few times will affect things, its why you should just do it multiple times and average last 5 attempts
Angel  [author] Oct 30 @ 8:00am
thats normal variance
emdeeL Oct 30 @ 7:33am
Thank you very much for this benchmark map.

I just have one issue and wanted to ask if anyone else is experiencing the same thing:

For me, no two runs are the same.
If I do multiple runs in a row, after a restart, or even with a fresh system state, I always get different results — beyond what you’d normally consider regular measurement tolerance in other game benchmarks.

I’ve seen everything from avg 500 and P1 230 to avg 520 and P1 272.

I can already rule out background services.

How about you guys?
Any tips?

Short disclaimer: I am totally not a CS player. Literally never played a match. Got interested into the topic, because I have some friends who do, and they asked me recently about what hardware will be good for the game (mostly forced to upgrade after CSGO was abandoned). Anyway, below are my results. Actually much more GPU bound game than I was expecting, considering it's an online shooter.

I did a bunch of tests with my DDR3 CPUs

Xeon E5-1680 v2 4200MHz: AVG=357.0, P1=140.4
Xeon E5-2667 v2 4032MHz: AVG=231.7, P1=107.3
Xeon E5-2697 v2 3360MHz: AVG=180.2, P1=92.6
i7 4820k 4620MHz: AVG=217.8, P1=107.4

RAM Settings:
2240MHz on unlocked CPUs (1680v2, 4820k)
2090MHz on locked ones (IMC limit)
Used same timings on all CPUs (9-11-11-24, tRFC: 200, tREFI: 32768)

Other Specs:
Motherboard: Rampage IV Black Edition
RAM: 4x8GB G.Skill TridentX 2400MHz CL10
GPU: XFX RX 6700XT

Notes:
1680 v2 uses twice as much power compared to other CPUs, i've even seen it using 250watts on a Prime95 stress test..

My 1680 v2 got dead one week ago, so i had to play CS2 with 4820k for a bit time and playing CS2 with this CPU was literally a disaster, sometimes fps dropped to incredibly low values and i had to restart the game because of this. IDK what was the actual reason of that FPS drop but mostly its occurred when i shift+tab or alt+tab so fast.
