The animation is terrible. Tf2 characters don't move like they have 0 bones in their body. Even our more whimsical taunts aren't this... well, whimsical, cartoony.

i dont get the people who think scout wouldnt do this. he literally has ninja cosmetics and im fairly certain hes probably made jokes about ninjas or somthing. also who cares? its cool and i like it. if you respond to this comment i promise to ignore you

I think this taunt would greatly benefit by taken some examples from scouts flippin' awesome's animation's: The general speed of the animation, the head bow for ease of animation, and an air trail for the foot for a speed illusion. another example that could be used for scouts kick is heavys yeti punch hit speed.

Universal purchasable taunt kills would be pay2win since you don't have to have a specific weapon equipped and in your hand to use them

Apart from the fact that this is a tauntkill (which means it's technically P2W) I don't see this being used outside of that reason. It doesn't fit in any situation and doesn't fit with Scout's character. Also the animation look a bit off, especially before the kick.

Think of it like this: if there was a hat that gave you a flat 2% damage bonus, people would hate it (obviously) even tho the difference is minor and won’t realistically make an impact on gameplay regularly SO WHATS THE FUCKING DIFFERENCE

Taunt kills aren't p2w lmao. I don't know how people got this idea, but how often do you realistically see someone pull off a taunt kill? Also, technically there's already a p2w tauntkill in game, the Huntsman tauntkill. It doesn't come base with character, and the Huntsman is purchasable in the MannCo. Store. Workshop created taunt kills would just be a funny thing that someone can pull off in really niche scenarios. It's not like it's making the scout have 10k HP or always deal 500 damage per shot. It's a taunt that has a small hitbox that instakills, not a cross map team kill button.

-scout looks like a skinwalker in the process of morphing into a previous victim
-literally any purchase-only tauntkill is an awful idea because it would inevitably be called p2w (which it honestly could be)
-how does karate fit into scout's character
good attempt and it's better than another vehicle taunt but the way scout is animated in midair just looks iffy

A good try but honestly one that is just not befitting of the games style and of scouts personality. For the animation as well, it honestly feels very jittery and all over the place too. The way he moves into the kick isnt too well made either. Still i am seeing that you are trying out new stuff so i would suggest you keep studying the game more and more as well as looking at older taunts for the mercs to better see what to do. Otherwise what you got right is how fast it was, so keep it up big man!

Amateur work aside, the concept doesn't fit Scout at all. He absolutely wouldn't bow or show any kind of respect to an opponent, and his legs are twigs - absolutely not capable of killing someone with a kick.

I think standalone kill taunts are a cool idea with a lot of untapped potential. I also like anything that pulls from the "ninja scout" well since I think that's an underutilized theme for him. I do think the execution is rough.

The animation just looks off. The bow at the start is really floaty and unnatural looking (like he's made of Jell-O), the kick has very little wind-up and lacks weight and speed, and it feels like the whole sequence is just missing something at the end (maybe some kind of insult from the scout paired with a gesture?). For the bowing, I'd look to his flip taunt. When he completes a flip he also does a bow, but it's a lot quicker [ https://youtu.be/r4b4iR2kfKg?si=ZwLtfyVy8raOKUTi&t=34 ].

For the kick, the speed seems too uniform and linear through out the whole thing? Maybe a bigger wind-up, make the spin part super fast, and then a big wind-down. There's something off about the arms during the kick too. They stay at his sides the entire time and don't move until he's finished. I think if you had him extend them for the wind up, then wrap them around his upper body during the kick before unwrap them back out during the wind-down, it would look a lot more natural and give you some nice secondary action on the spin kick. Once again, the flip taunt has something similar to what i'm describing for it's intro animation, the way he throws his arms into the spin like a snowboarder does [ https://youtu.be/r4b4iR2kfKg?si=Yy6Ugynm-z-nbZmw&t=27 ].

I hope this all doesn't come off too harsh because I really like this on a conceptual level. (Had to break it up into 2 comments cause Steam said I was yapping too much :P)

Definetely not a good looking taunt. Pretty sloppy animation as well. But it goes well with the Ninja Scout set so I'll give it the greenlight. Also wanna see all the Zesty Jesus meatriders complain about how it doesn't fit the games style. Unless they're too busy complaining about sniper

bruh all am saying is that the taunt doesn't fit man. Something about the way scouts jiggle or the fact it feels stiff but the tf2 community will take anything at this point. Just saying you prob could do better. If your just going to deny my criticism then what's the point on asking???? :steambored: :jarate:

Not necessarily, I know Heavy's fist taunt comes with his base character. Maybe there should be a weapon specification restriction for this, though. I'm kind of thinking about contacting Eric about what could be done to make something like this work.

It is just a concept, after all. I got multiple opinions on how the taunt looked while I was creating it, and everybody gave me the green light when I finalized how it looked. I'm in disbelief with the response, but honestly it just tells me I need to work on fitting these taunts into the game's style because I made a few decisions that made the taunt's style look a bit less like what can be seen in TF2.
I'm coming back to these first two taunts later, but for now I'm going to move on and try to nail this next one.

well not to sound mean but the whole taunt idea just sucks. The whole bow down thing he does at the start doesn't go down enough and the kick has 0 power to it. Make taunts all you want but for it to be in the game it has to fit and this one just doesn't have the vibe. (also its a taunt kill)

I like the concept, but I feel like having a purchasable kill taunt wouldn't go too well if the bygone stat altering item set bonuses are anything to go by.

I imagine it would have to be paired with a weapon in a best case scenario.
