Since the update, James VI no longer appears in my player list. Too bad, I love Scotland, I love playing Scotland. I would be extremely grateful for any tips!

Thanks for the update. I just finished a game as Scotland. 3 Makars were born during the golden age and I noticed that my golden age turns increased from 10+ -> 50+ -> 344 -> 2730+.

Is this expected?

this mod messes up Vox Populi's great work optimization feature

I like playing as Scotland, but one thing I was noticing was that this mod seems a bit over powered. During my playthru I was able to build the wonder that gave me extended golden ages, and with that I was almost never off of golden age. When it would end I was usually just a few hundred away from starting another one, and even a few times I was already over the target number to start a new golden age. Other than that, the rifleman change didn't seem too useful as my tech level passed by rifleman so fast. Also, the Scotland color was too close to Siam. Playing as Scotland was great tho.

The game crashed when the "cultural development" event showed up and I accepted it.

Slightly underwhelming, in my opinion. But this mod works. Especially if you wanna have a marginalized player who get squeezed up into the highlands in your game.

Odd, The Mod does not show up in Nation Select.

But too be perfectly honest, the Highlander sounds useless if your nation isn't hilly at all, same as the Norweigan Ski Infantry if you didn't have snowy or hilly lands.

If this mod didn't include Highlanders, this mod would be useless.

For some reason i cant play this mod. When i anable it and go to choose to play as scotland they dont come up. Do i need a dlc to play this?

No where near close to Siam. Never listen to Caligula, he wasn't a good Roman Emperor.

good mod,but the colors are a bit too close to siam's. i think a simple shift from red to orange would fix it,or somthing like that.

Regarding my previous bug; I started a new game after you updated this mod twice and now I"m not getting any Scotland specific E&D events. By this I mean in the pull down menu. At this time I've yet to see any of the special events shown in the screen shots above.

I think there might be a bug with the E&D mod event regarding the Royal Society. Not sure if it's due to the new Enlightenment mod or not. The issue is I met the requirements and bought it. The city screen shows it but the enact decesions screen continues to show it to be enactible.

@Myles if using Sukritact's Events & Decisions, the foiling of the gunpowder plot is an event that this civ can receive.

Also he was King of Scotland when he was 13 months old and then became king of England for the main part of his life also rulling Scotland and Ireland. Instead of being King of Scotland it should be King of England or the yet to be called United Kingdom.

The most important thing about King James VI and the thing that should be recongized was that the King James bible was produced and published under this king. The King James Bible being God's word (final and only word of God). I like that this mod has recongnized that he was a believer of God but it should mention and maybe have something in the mod about the Gun Powder plot and the attempted assassination from the Jesuits to kill King James VI to stop him from publishing the King James Bible. Good mod will be using it.

My only complaint about playing as Scotland is the colour scheme, couldn't do Blue and White?

brilliant mod, really enjoying conquering the world with these guys but I feel like the colour is wrong, Maybe it's just me but I feel a blue or or even a green would be better suited?

The Highlander unit you have chosen is more in keeping with those Highland regiments that served in the British army circa 1800, while James VI was circa 1600 and eventually James I of England. Additionally Highlanders, while the romantic idea of Scotland, used broadsword and shield as typical weapons of choice.
It is easy to picture Scotland as sword wielding kilt wearers, but in reallty that is the Highlands. The central and southern parts of Scotland had much more in common with England.

Scotland!? This is one of the best mods I've seen yet. I don't suppose you have a mod that removes any bonuses that the a.i. gets on Prince difficulty? I swear its like they dont have maintenance on units and have a bonus to build speed.

James VI's a poor choice tbh

I constructed a highlander in a city with four great works of writing and it started with no bonus experience.

Do your mods support G+K as well as BNW? I have both but was curious if I need to uninstall G+K

The direct download link is broken. It says that the file was removed.

Found a small bug: ML_Tables.sql in this mod has a copy-paste error. There is "CIVILIZATION_JFD_NORWAY" instead of "CIVILIZATION_JFD_SCOTLAND", resulting that no culture is assigned in Map Labels mod (when Norway is in game too?).

@JFD i would like to request a couple of city names : Linwood as maybe a 20th city name because it isn't a big place but it is my hometown : Dornoch because historically it is an importnant place : Malaig because it was Europe's BIGGEST Kipper Port.
