That's not a problem at all Lucus! I appreciate the suggestion and the time you took to respond. I'll spend some time doing my best to learn the ins and outs (there's plenty of guides around afterall), and see if I can't achieve exactly what you suggest (while providing credit to the mod's original author, of course). Either way, as I said, thanks for the response, and thanks a million for the mods you've made for us all to enjoy!

Hey @Starcleaver, unfortunately I don't have a modnix compatible version of the mod and since I started modding after Steam Workshop support was added, I'm not familiar with how to make it work for Modnix, either.

From a mod creator's perspective, I think Nexus/Modnix was pretty much abandoned entirely when Steam Workshop support was added ~3 years ago. While I'm aware that some users still use Modnix for the handful of mods that remain unavailable here, I think you'd do the community a greater service by trying to port the Class Traits mod to Steam instead of porting mine back to Modnix.

Unfortunately, I've been too busy to dedicate any time to the game this year, otherwise I'd offer to help. Sorry that I can't be of more use to you :steamsad:

Hey Lucus! First of all thank you for this it's excellent. Second of all, I don't suppose you have a .dll version that works in Modnix? I was trying to do two things:

1) Use this mod to play on Legend, and still have Sophia and crew
2) Specify personal traits for both Sophia and one random soldier by using the nexus mod "Select Class Traits"

As you mentioned, Steam Workshop and mods using mod loaders like Modnix aren't compatible. The Select Class Traits mod on Nexus appears to have gone untouched, and uncommented-on, by the author for a couple years now. So while it still works I think it's abandoned.

Thus I thought I would ask you about a Modnix compatible version. Alternatively do you know how easy or hard it might be to convert your mod over to one that would work in Modnix? I'm not a programmer but I have enough knowledge that I might be able to do that, though I'm not holding my breath that it would actually be easy to do.

Either way thanks again for a great mod!

btw this ^ mod Linked above, works wonders with this mod. Ide suggest using both.
Reviera Sep 8, 2024 @ 1:51am
yeah its like adding the same thing with vastly different effects, both sitting in one file both competing for the spot. and 99% of the time its just one modder that either leaves or simply wont comply.
LucusTheDestroyer  [author] Sep 7, 2024 @ 9:39am
The mod isn't broken, it's just incompatible with a couple of others because they all try to change the same thing.

Good luck on Fixing the Mod.

That sucks, but thanks for letting me know.

I've been thinking about expanding this mod a bit further once I have some time. So when I do, I'll look into whether I can overcome that incompatibility (and the incompatibility with TFTV) :PPSophia:
Reviera Jul 27, 2024 @ 4:00pm
so you can turn on both, if you set the extra characters to 0, however, the 2 other starter characters also vanish. so its a yes it works, but no, it still has flaws.
Reviera Jul 9, 2024 @ 8:57pm
I don't know, too many settings on it to patiently test
LucusTheDestroyer  [author] Jul 9, 2024 @ 1:07pm
@Reviera, thanks for flagging it. From a quick glance I assume it'll be because of the Custom Campaign's "Starting Soldier Modifier", but without checking how their code works I'm not sure if setting that setting to 0 is enough to stop it overriding this mod or if it's just an unfortunate incompatibility.
Reviera Jul 5, 2024 @ 2:38pm
yeah that mod causes the names and characters to become randomized

Works with, not compatible with linked mod above
LucusTheDestroyer  [author] Jul 5, 2024 @ 2:09pm
@Reviera, No, you should at least get Sophia, Jacob and Omar from the first two tutorial missions. Did you enable the mod in the "mods" tab on the main menu screen?

If the mods tab isn't there, you'll need to go into your game's Steam Settings and adjust the Launch Options to "Play Phoenix Point with mods"
Reviera Jul 5, 2024 @ 1:29pm
to be clear, no I don't have TFTV installed.
Reviera Jul 5, 2024 @ 1:28pm
so question, is the starter characters meant to be all women without the intended names?
aspen_099 Jun 4, 2024 @ 12:23pm
Really? Damn! Nevermind then. Thank you for your time.
LucusTheDestroyer  [author] Jun 4, 2024 @ 4:33am
Honestly, that's even harder than your first suggestion!
aspen_099 Jun 3, 2024 @ 2:58pm
Like pickout specfic talents/perks for each soldier.
LucusTheDestroyer  [author] Jun 3, 2024 @ 2:33pm
Customise them in what way?
aspen_099 Jun 2, 2024 @ 5:03pm
@LucusTheDestroyer Thank you for the reply and for even considering it. What about being able to customize soldiers instead? I think that's more plausible.
LucusTheDestroyer  [author] Jun 2, 2024 @ 9:30am
@aspen_099,

I'm not sure that'll be possible due to the way TFTV implements its various starting squad options.
aspen_099 May 31, 2024 @ 2:06pm
Can you please, PLEASE make a version compatible with TFTV? Thank you!
