I adapted this mod for bioships for myself. and Better Crystal Plating too, it turned out to be a great combo. there are a couple of bugs because you need to rewrite the entire bioship branch (and I just replaced the utility types). but it works well. thanks to author for the idea, it would be cool to see it in 4.0

Than I feel like it, but from the looks of it I might as well rework it completely, so its either freeze this mod for 3.* and create a new mod for 4.* or replace this one with reworked version.. I think I will choose the first option and freeze it.

Hello! Thank for your mod and reply in another one. but it since that titan now have no additional hull option to choose but still can be research and the descript are fine just in ship designer do not see the compent option.

Also now Improved hulls will give additional disengagement opportunities, 1 for Improved and 2 for Advanced. Will see how it goes, I might remove the hull increase from technologies once I have more time.

Update is here! Added support for Cosmogenesis ships as well as for Star Eaters and Colossi, now you can adequately protect your important galaxy cleaning equpment.

If you want i can try and make a test run within the next couple days to see if AWSI still works in 3.11 because the last update was in like january or so, and the current mod author took over quite a few older mods so updating all of them to new game versions takes some time.

Anyway, could/would you make a patch for this and AW:SI?

I am not 100% sure if AWSI still works on 3.11, but it atleast worked fine on 3.10, so i can't tell for sure if it would be worth creating a patch for rn without potentially having to update the patch shortly after.

I just found out that one of the starbase mods i use "At War: Starbase Improvements (3.9.*)" not only added new technologies that add new starbase modules, but also "heavy defense platforms" (basically 2 regular defense platforms in 1) as new ship class.

It adds 3 new regular technologies:
1-"miniaturized defense platform components" that unlocks the new heavy def platform ship class
2/3-"improved/advanced heavy defense platform hulls" which add a large flat amount of hull hp to them

And then it has "starport defense algorithms" that can be repeated 5 times total and iirc it just adds defense platform cap to your starbases.

I assume that because it is a new ship class with its own technologies it won't get the new hull
and reactor booster components, correct?

I use another mod that adds new planet buildings that deal damage to orbiting enemy ships, but i think because of a code limitation it could only deal damage to hull directly, meaning it bypasses all armor and shields, which was an issue because there are no hull repeatables so eventually they would be relatively strong, but with this mod it should be less extreme of an issue while still not completely throwing off balance.

Ship size means ship type pretty much. They all have specific values for each ship variant

Quick question: it states "hull hp increase *per* size", does this mean that depending on how much naval cap a ship takes its hp increase gets multiplied with it?

Eg if corvette is size 1 and gets 100/200 per size then it's 100/200 total, but would a battleship get 1.000/2.000 x 8 = 8.000/16.000?

I assume the listed value is the total, because 16k additional hull hp would be nuts, but i wasn't 100% sure so i thought i'd ask.

Also the juggernaut lists 50.000/10.000, i assume it's a typo, but does it get 50.000/100.000, or 5.000/10.000?

Last question: The technologies still list a +10% hull points modifier, does this apply on top of the flat increase from the hull module, and do the 10% from the advanced hull tech get added too, meaning 100+10+10=120%?
So if a corvette had 200 hp base, and you had both techs for it, it would get 240hull base, and if you decide to upgrade it with the flat module it would turn into 480?

Anyway I did tweaked the improved hull technologies to add the 10% hull to the menacing ship variants as well. And on top of that fixed the +25% ship build speed modifer from "Standardized Corvette/Destoryer/Cruiser Patterns" to apply to menacing variants, cause vanilla doesnt do that.

yeah i mean the 10% hull increase to ships. Although checking the hull stats, with this mod installed the 10% doesnt get applied to regular ships anymore either. Seems to be an issue that needs to be fixed

Hmmmm, you mean the 10% hull buff from tech? Cause the mod does unlock hull upgrades for menacing ships as well (it does not increase their production cost since menacing ships only have base cost and components on them dont increase it).

hey since this is a mod about improved hulls, could i request one feature? could you make the improved hull tech also apply to menacing variants? i dont think they do in the base game. btw having played with this, this has become a must have. Thubs up and award to help boost it has been given :)

It does work with menacing ships though.. Can you explain the problem better, so I can fix it?
