weege, i just gotta ask, why does it matter if whether or not I can clearly see if Demoman is black? genuine question because your fixation on race is just so odd in my opinion, especially when there are already so many cosmetics (HHH Head, Blast Defense, Glasgow Great Helm (albeit dat one does show Demoman's eye... wait, what like this cosmetic does. So what's the complaint exactly? If it's paintability disrupting the Demoman's design as a black character, then again, I have to point to the previous cosmetics and say that this is really a non-issue.

demoman is supossed to be a black guy, not yellow, red or whatever other color, maybe a mask on a desaturated color would look nice, but whatever, you do you and i keep my opinions, which everyone has the right to have

do you really think that it would be better if this item couldnt be painted to match loadouts in black, brown, olive drab, white, tan, or other team colors

idk I don't live in fear of pink and lime cause I hardly ever see it to begin with. and it's not like this obscures team recognition lol
