Chunky...have not, yet, found the map. Please post when you find the solution/answer. Also, to all the whiners complaining about pinpoint accuracy regarding the map, please firmly insert your head back up your ass where your comment was extracted from. Give the guy a break; he obviously put a lot of hard work and time into this, and he's just trying to share something that he thought might be fun, not get a job with Rand-McNally.

I'm interested to know how many people are actually getting this map running in game. If anyone has please tell me, if not I will need to try and find a solution c:

@Tiogar Well, two reasons. One, I don't know, nor do I want to research the exact resource distribution of every square mile (one hex is about that scale wise) historic or otherwise. Two, If I did, the game would become unplayable, or at least un-fun, due to the fact that many resources ie. uranium aren't really what Washington is known for.

As far as gripes about the Columbia not being realistic, this game -if you hadn't realized- is made up of big ass hexagon tile based maps. Scaling actual landmasses and their real life functions is impossible without making it look doofy.

Sorry, but deal with it. Or, find one of the other three or four Washington maps on the Workshop that don't emphasize astetics as much.

@The Massacrecer Wierd. I'm really inexperienced in... Well... All of this uploading and modding hoo-ha. So I don't know. Have you been able to play the map in game at all?
ChunkyButternut  [author] Sep 17, 2014 @ 10:40pm
@Ragnar Lothbrok I don't understand your question, is America the only civ you can select?
ChunkyButternut  [author] Sep 17, 2014 @ 10:37pm
Wow, I took a break from Steam over the last two weeks. This taking off like it did is really cool :D
Tiogar Sep 17, 2014 @ 7:38pm
Why not add in the actual and historical resourses of the state? Also, the Columbia is navigable by boat all the way up into Idaho, via the Snake.
Slobodan Sep 17, 2014 @ 7:10pm
*best state in the country*

I live in Olympia, so I'm anxious to play this map. As Frank says, the mod shows up in the mods list, but I can't locate it in the maps.

Regal: hilarious! And maybe the other barbarian units would spontaneously attack them too! And if you caught them, you'd get culture even if you didn't have the military upgrade.
regalmanemperor Sep 16, 2014 @ 4:24pm
It would be awesome if barbarian encampments would spawn another unit instead: the hippie. They can't attack anyone and they go around improving resouces that require plantations, but they pillage lumber mills
davasorus Sep 16, 2014 @ 3:16pm
Map shows up in mods, but does show up on the list

Smoking bowls in WA
Mjolnir Sep 16, 2014 @ 10:49am
So do I only play with one civ? How do you win if America is the only civ in game?
Shria Abuffe Sep 16, 2014 @ 9:11am
WA State I love it! I miss my home.
goumindong Sep 13, 2014 @ 5:39pm
Vancouver island isn't that bad. There just isn't enough space to properly do the San Juans which is throwing people off
SergeantTommy Sep 13, 2014 @ 3:00pm
it looks good
Moros Sep 13, 2014 @ 2:48pm
Oh god, Vancouver Island looks nothing like that.
El Presidente Sep 13, 2014 @ 2:25pm
I just subscribed. Unfortunatly Aspyr still hasn't enabled modding in the Linux port. Once Aspyr enables modding I will be able to use it.
Lazy Invincible General Sep 13, 2014 @ 2:23pm

KrakenOnKrack Sep 13, 2014 @ 2:19pm

Rush Knight -
Youre also forgetting vashon island, which is just as big as bainbridge. Granted its technically "2" islands, but few even from back home know that(maury island).

Obviously this is nit picking, def a well done map.
Rush Knight Sep 12, 2014 @ 7:56pm
Just looking at the preview, it looks good overall - but as a local resident I think the Kitsap Peninsula could use some work. The Hood Canal should have a coast tile connecting it to the Sound; Liberty Bay isn't quite that big; and Bainbridge Island really ought to be an island, or at least connected on the north end instead of the south end. Just my two cents.

Try finding the Civ5map file in your MODS directory and pasting it into your map directory, that fixes any issues I have with maps not showing up. Do a search for the file if you cannot find it.
War Bear Sep 11, 2014 @ 5:46am
I like the look of it altough it doesnt appear in-game...
ChunkyButternut  [author] Sep 10, 2014 @ 7:38pm
To anyone likes this map, consider rating it? I'd really appreciate it. It helps people find this map.
ChunkyButternut  [author] Sep 10, 2014 @ 7:36pm
@Dhrekkin Thanks! I don't know though, maybe I'll take a crack at something like that in the future, I just have too many projects, highschool, and Sims 3 to worry about right now.
ChunkyButternut  [author] Sep 10, 2014 @ 7:34pm
@Aradesh D. Factus Thank you! That's what I love to hear c:
Dhrekkin Sep 9, 2014 @ 11:45pm
Very well done. Considering doing up a scenario of local tribes vs each other and local tribes vs settlers now.
Kaphka Sep 7, 2014 @ 10:27am
This is simply splendid!8

I don't know, Portland is nice and they're practically Washington anyway. In fact I've often joked if all those cranky Eastern WA and/or OR are serious about wanting to be a new state we could just make Washington everything west of the Cascades and Oregon everything east.

Most Oregonians would wins because they'd never have to go to Salem again.
ChunkyButternut  [author] Aug 31, 2014 @ 1:47pm
@zArkham4269 Good question. I don't really know. I made this map about two months ago, so I'm not entirely sure why. I think it was the fact that it wouldn't fit nicely in a rectangular map, so I skewed it a little. But hey, the less Oregon the better right?
zArkham4269 Aug 28, 2014 @ 8:34pm
Why do you have the Columbia tunnel through the coastal range instead of turning left at Columbia and coming out at Astoria like it should?
no_names_today Aug 28, 2014 @ 8:23pm
fellow washingtonian, thanks for the map!
ChunkyButternut  [author] Aug 28, 2014 @ 6:36pm
@MLP Coal Dust Actually, there are. Living in Puyallup Washington, I can tell you that much of Eastern Washington is a grassland with giant rocky sandy hills and rock formations. There are no major mountains near where I placed the desert tiles. Everything is generally accurate disreguarding the huge hundred mile long stretches of irrigation speckled along the South East. General rule, don't say it unless you can cite it.
Bluebaron Aug 28, 2014 @ 6:24pm
I live in Kennewick, WA. It has the same annual rainfall as Phoenix.
Alfe Fyr Aug 28, 2014 @ 6:13pm
@MLP Coal Dust Do you actually live in Washington?
Thorpen Alnyr Aug 28, 2014 @ 5:05pm
@TRusheeRush No, there is not. the Deserts are representing the Mountians of that state (yet he could of used actual mountian tiles).
TRusheeRush Aug 28, 2014 @ 4:43pm
Are there actually deserts in Washington state?
