The Monarchy is just a face who can give legitimacy and whatnot to the royalist and general public but the real ruling powers are the bourgeoisie and the army who have no problems doing business with the PRC, they also bought around 400 type 85 in 1987. Most of new Chinese vehicles were bought after 2014 coup whose committee greatly opened up to the PRC again and by then pretty much ceased buying stuffs from Ukraine as Euromaidan made them unreliable supplier, understandable I guess, I mean it took them about 7 years to deliver all T-84 while the PRC did it with VT-4 within few years.

I didn't think that a monarchical country would use Chinese armored vehicles

@TheVeritasAlliance Bought, without question (the largest enemy of Thailand is Vietnam you know). The Thai Marines even got vn16, the export ver of ZBD05, and Thai Marines use them together with AAV7A1. Also, after the T84s Thailand bought have appeared on battlefield, the contract terminated, Thailand purchased VT4 instead.

LOL thats quite a handful, the king's army wasnt just colorful in the royal guards "department", with their pink uniformed royal guards. I wonder if the chinese VN1Cs were bought or captured from neighboring nations.

@TheVeritasAlliance
the much more amazing thing is that Thai army use 3 different wheeled APC: BTR3 from Ukraine , Stryker from USA , VN1C from China
