Based on previous feedback regarding graphics, we have implemented icons in the phases.
The use of Twemoji is a major detriment to the world view, but we hope you understand that this is a temporary measure.
We have made some small improvements to a problem that was causing a lot of errors due to insufficient localisation.
We have eliminated a graphical error that was caused by not setting a background image for the debugging decision.
Thank you for the information!
Based on the information received, a Count's (not Duke's) invasion event
and Hostage and Looting Events will be created.
Whether these will take the form of LoP-supported wars or Viking-like events is a matter for consideration.
First of all, they will be based on the LoP.
We will continue to develop this so that it can be implemented by the end of next week!
Thank you very much!
"settlement across the Danube to a group of 20,000 Pechenegs that fled to the empire under the leadership of Kegen in 1045 when the latter failed to challenge the authority of the Pecheneg leader Tyrakh"
"When Tyrakh attacked Byzantine territory and was defeated the emperor decided to settle the subjugated invaders on lands in the region between Sofia and Nish"
"The capture and deportation of the inhabitants of Byzantine cities, villages, and smaller settlements was a recurrent result of Muslim raiding into imperial territory in the period between the mid-7th and the 10th century. A main goal of such raiding activity was the accumulation of plunder and the capture of prisoners of war which was quite profitable, since these were sold on the slave market earning their sellers a great deal of money." (mid-7th ~ 10th century)
I could not find sources of raids by Turkic nomads, but it is certain that Arabs raided Byzantium regularly and sold many people, including the nobles, to the slave market.
A decision to end the struggle is currently being created.
The decision to end the struggle is in name only, and simply resets the phase multiple times, and the struggle will continue until the Byzantine Empire itself is destroyed!
We would also like to disable any supported invasion wars that invaders could wage until the balancing is finished, as they would severely disrupt the game balance and clash with Seljuk dynasty events.
We would be grateful if you could provide us with any references that prove that the Byzantine Empire was in conflict with the Turkic nomads before it clashed with the Seljuk dynasty!
How often and what religion did the invaders follow? Did they settle in the empire? Did they only plunder?
However, this does not mean that there is no way to change the region. The idea is to create several struggles in different regions with the same content and switch the struggles themselves over time. This idea is bold and could cause a lot of bugs. From the above, we would like to start this research and work as soon as the rough implementation of the struggles is completed. Thanks for the great ideas! 2/2
Thanks for your comment! Regarding the region of the struggle, this is made up of a variable called geographical_region on the game side. I can't say for sure as I haven't completed a detailed investigation, but I believe this is a static variable that is loaded at the start of the game and cannot be changed during the game. It is possible that this could be changed dynamically in the LoP DLC, but I have not been able to confirm this. Therefore, it is currently difficult to change the geographical region of the struggle over time. (If the geographical_region could be changed, e.g. by a function, then it would be possible to switch the region of the struggle.)
1/2
This would include much of Armenia and Georgia as well, though at times less and less of Syria or the Holy Lands, much less Egypt.
We recognise that CK3 has a great set of icons, but we believe that if these are to be used, the intent must be consistent. Not all icons used in Iberia and Persia are compatible with this mod, so we will continue to work on this for a while.
We will eventually create the icons, but these are a low priority as we are currently concentrating on other tasks. Please understand.
Ideas for areas are invited.
Sorry the error log is very dirty!
If the Turks win a support war, their dynasty will be raidable for 10 years! This could be a replica of some historical raids!
I have not witnessed the Seljuk events, so I am not myself sure if they remain compatible with these story chains!
The cooldown on support war interactions is unusually short and we plan to lengthen this!
The cooldown will be made to vary with phases!
Let us know if you have any opinions!
The Syria and Jersusalem regions may be removed in the future, as the current struggle regions are still in the development phase.
We do not know how that mod will be implemented, but characters in the overlapping regions will be involved in two struggles. It is possible that the status of that character will be messed up, but it will not be completely unplayable.
I don't think the mod is completely exclusive in nature.
(Incidentally, do you think Syria and Jerusalem are necessary for ByzantineStruggle?
I set up the regions without much thought...)
Thank you!
I'm so glad you liked it!
The scope of the struggle was adjusted after identifying characters that overlapped with the struggle area in Persia.
Changed the religion to be the same as that of the supporters when the Turks were victorious in a supported Turc invasion. We hope this will make it easier to promote Islamization in Asia Minor and expand play in Struggle Invaders. However, we have confirmed that when multiple wars of support occur at the same time, the religion may not be set as desired due to variables.
Fixed some Catalyst issues related to wars that were not adapted.
Changed the history files to be in line with the new format.
Work continues!
update
- add catalyst_preferred_heir_tp, catalyst_gain_claim_on_title_tp, catalyst_usurp_title_tp, catalyst_basileus_was_declared_war_tp ...
- add Request Incursion (The invasive area is limited to Asia Minor.)
- The initial phase has been changed to Decay.
Starting with the bookmark of Emir Shu'ayb, it is easy to experience the Turc invasion.
Some Catalysts may not be functioning as expected.
Thanks for your interest! We will continue to make adjustments!
1.11.0.1 is supported.
Some proprietary effects and Catalyst are in the works.
We have confirmed that the DLC "Legacy of Persia" has many changes to the struggle system and to the game as a whole.
As we resume our work, we will start by adapting our current implementation to the new version.
It seems that a lot of modifications have been made to the code, so it may take some time to analyze the code, but we will work on it with the goal of updating it once a week, so please be patient.
(Thanks Paradox!!!)
thank you
i will do our best to meet your expectations!
thank you!!
This should be the right one homie. Sorry for the late response
We expect the DLC "legacy of persia" to be released on November 10, 2023 and will bring many changes to the struggle.
We are currently concentrating on the Venice mod to avoid duplicating work. Please understand that updates will be slow!
The Venice mod will be released as soon as we can implement some core aspects.
If it is well received, we will incorporate it into THE PURPLE!
Thank you for your comment, I am very interested in the mod, I looked for it on steam, but I can't find the mod. Can you tell me where it is distributed?

joanmollocunha > We would like to support mods that add Byzantine government during maintenance. For example, we do not plan to support Rhomaioi since it stopped updating in 2021.
We also do not plan to add a government with this mod. Please understand.
Eruzhar > Thank you for your interest. This mod is still under development, so it will take some time until we can play with it properly.
Please note that I am not familiar with the war or with historiography.
The other day I implemented the data "tp_catalyst_yearly_emperor_at_war". Perhaps this is what you are referring to.
I wanted to use this implementation to represent war exhaustion. I wanted to implement the penalties of a long war and the benefits of winning the war to make players rethink their overextension.
Currently, the attrition progress suffered during war is horrendously large, but I hope to be able to strengthen the relationship with the treasury in the future. For example, if we continue the war in a state of debt, we will gain a special large decline progress every year.
We believe that, as in the historical past, the restoration of Rome must be extremely difficult.
We also plan to have decline progress that can be gained from individual looting or defeat.
Gain positive progress each year depending on the Emperor's learning ability.
As the war continues, we gain progress in the wrong direction every year.
I am working on this in between schoolwork, so it may take some time to complete. Please understand.
