Yeah, they were very tempted to leave it be. But they did change their minds, sure is a good thing they did. lol

Actually, even the Brits didn't want it, until one of the army officers drove it himself and said "I do say, my good sir, this is a very fine automobile." and production for the army became a thing.

Nice. Great work!

They did offer the VW Beetle to the Americans and the French but they turned it down. They said 'It wasn't worth a damn.' Hindsight anyone? lol Brits were the only ones persuaded to keep the production going.
