Are the sounds not working for you? Are you using the newest version of ace (3.18)? The mod seems to work for me. Anyone else with issues please report.

i genuinely have no clue at this point, so we're just reworking the mod rn. The mod works for me with ace 3.17.1, and i have no clue how it doesn't work for everyone. Hopefully the reworked version should be out soonish. Sorry for the inconvenience, i do not know how to make mods.

idk if something is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up or im just retarded. I uninstalled both mods, installed them, waited for them to update and its still messed up. I did this liek 4 times, and I dont have any mods that mess with anything this mod touches.

Ok what the ♥♥♥♥. the mod works for both me and my co-author. Are you all SURE both mods are updated? since when we launch arma with both mods updated it works. Could there be other conflicting mods or something, because i'm actually out of ideas. I'll properly start working on the better version of the update, and that SHOULD fix this ♥♥♥♥ if this is actually just broken.

that should literally be impossible lol wtf. you mean it works with ace 3.17? i run arma with this mod and ace 3.17.1 and it works, and it should not work with any other version besides that. i'm losing my mind.

I replaced the new ace with a backup of the version before, and it works like it should. So ... ;-)))
i don't know what or where the problem is.

It could be ace devs also just changing how the cook off function works, as they did in the last update. I am still trying to properly make this mod compatible with the newer updates, but for the time being these half assed updates will have to do. Hopefully it works now though.

updated and it still works for me without issues. If it still doesn't idk what to do lol, i'm not good at this. Play around with the mod load order or something.

Odd, since they're ripped straight from ace, but oh well. I'll update it again and hopefully that'll fix it it.

I looked at your files , and there are old files in addon-folder. They are from 06.04.24.

Hi SkeletalError, yeah, seems that somthing is wrong, but i don't know if it is your's or ace.
If i start the game, in loadingscreen on the left bottom, there is an message that say :
"ace_cookoff loading from unexpected modDir [@ Better ace Cookoff Sounds]
@Better ace Cook Off Sounds [@ Better ace Cookoff Sounds] unexpected Workshop ID [3037169163]"

In game it says that BACS is outdated outdated...ace is 3.17.1.86

ok so idk what is really causing the signatures to ♥♥♥♥ up, since once again i follow the signing process from a tutorial step by step, and i unfortunately don't really have the time to look into that rn. We'll start working on the slightly improved version of this mod at the end of this month, so hopefully that'll fix the issue.

I ran the mod as a client side mod and don't require it to run but encourage everyone download it as ace cook off sounds are bad

My friend, the mod is not working as server side (no sound is changed), and if loaded by the client and the server has Verify Signatures enabled, then the client won't be able to connect as "ace_cook_off.pbo" fails to verify

to my understanding, as it is now, it's a server side mod, but since the last ace update, it should be easier to create a client side version of this mod, so we'll try to get this mod updated soon(ish)

I have to agree with the others here, your sounds are amazing and the new ACE sounds somehow are worse than before in my opinion. They're like nails on a chalkboard for me.

There's no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ way they've ♥♥♥♥♥♥ them up again lmao. I'll be back on my computer to check them out on friday, and i'll get to working on the new update. From what I heard before the update, they may've changed how the cook off sounds work, so it may take a lottle longer than usual. Anyway thanks for the feedback guys.

Thanks for letting me know, however, it appears ace themselves have updated the cook off sounds, as stated in the patch notes, which should in theory make this mod obsolete (idk, haven't heard them). if the new sounds are absolute ass as well i guess i could rework this mod to be compatible with the new cook off function, but it depends on whether people want this mod to be updated or not.
