Yeah I guess there are better options for a combat vehicle like your Sabaton. Was just looking for an all in one ship. I wish I was better at designing ships, they always turn into flying bricks. I was just messing around in creative with this and would adding targetable generators to the front top deck surrounded by xeno help at all with atleast midgame fights?

As a side note you can fit all 9 cpu's in the room you have for them, just need to move the pentaxid tank to the rear top corner horizontally and remove all the glass in the room. Also moved around a few cargo extensions and was able to fit all 8 of the plasma turbines on the sides behind the turrets

It is unfortunately, not a great design for the new RE2 framework, and that's a shame, I love this ship, too. It could work perfectly fine as a miner & Carrier, but a forward facing cockpit is not ideal for RE2 combat and so I'm unlikely to re-publish/update this ship. There's no reason why you couldnt switch the devices out and put it to use, just understand it's limitations, missiles and flak partially pierce your ships and you are sitting at the front of the ship next to a bunch of targettable devices.

I loved this ship, any plans on updating it for Reforged Eden 2? The mining drills are perfect positioned for RF2, since we take damage through shields now and the drills have such little hp.

I just popped it into creative to see what was missing and obviously the solar panels were missing but the cpu cores need to be added back in as there is only 1 basic and 2 improved. Other than that, there is a ton of empty space remaining that you can just go into on the sides.

@ArtemisRouge So when you say EMP are you talking about EMP Cruise launchers? also where would you add the Aux cores? im assuming next to the cpu extenders but just checking. Thank you i really enjoy alot of your builds :)

Not the deco tubes, but the Deco vents right behind the front doors, those 3 slots are for more manuals.
ArtemisRouge  [author] Nov 10, 2023 @ 8:46am
Believe there was room left for 2 more mining lasers yeah. 6 More Manuals can be equipped its marked below the existing mounts, remove those 2 vents. Thats why I made sure to put a signal and motion detector to automatically retract the weapons, because otherwise the added weapons would block your doors. So add the new manual weapons to that motion detector in the signal logic window.

I am assuming the laser tagging beside the harvest lasers is for more harvest lasers, not for advanced lasers?
And if you were going for more artillery (not sure its necessary) would you just put them on the deco tubes(?) that are near the current artillery? or did you have another place in mind?

I'm loving the ship btw, you always have such nice ships!

Start by upgrading it's turrets to Heavy lasers + EMPs, with 6+ Heavy lasers ( dual role anti drone anti shield ) and 4-6 EMP turrets, there's almost nothing you cant kill in this game. If you are familiar with enemy core locations, Blow it with manual artillery, if you are not, Switch out for Missile turrets and drub stuff to death from range.

It depends what you're trying to do Xarq. I have ships which are meant to be quantum but spawn in as Core9's, so they have a lot of upgrade potential but limitted weapons as a Core9, then I have ships which are made to be and fight at the Core9 level, but have more limitted upgrade options. The Star Atlas is both, its a highly efficient Core9 which can push significant weight, and can upgrade up to 10-12 Aux/quantums. I have lighter ships which can pack just a few more guns at the Core9 level, like the Tempest, but if you dont know how to dodge-roll or manually core thats probably not the ship for you, its for taking down Toveras as a core9, but does require practice/experience. Personally I think the Star Atlas is my preferred Core9 right now because it can do pretty much anything, cheaply, so The Star Atlas would be my recommendation for a Core9 combat ship. Unless you're fighting Legacy.

Great looking, well designed ship Artemis. I really like how you build these with "I have no Aux cores and no means to get Aux cores yet" - players like me in mind.

I'm thinking about building this for my first RE play through. Any combat centric CVs you recommend among your creations?

@ArtemisRouge ty,

Runs just fine up to about 2.3 million CPU w/ no aux cores, I kept it around 2.2 million so advanced warp and long range radar could be added. You can remove 2 positrons and add an additional 3x1 gen if you start redlining. Crew helps. @ Buddy The Star Atlas upgrades really well up to about 10 Aux cores, it'll kill anything in the game. When you want to go above 10 Aux cores ( 10 + 10 quantums ) then I would suggest The Exeter.

@Buddy. Good to know, ty
Buddy Sep 24, 2023 @ 4:40am
@Cortez It runs fine over. The only time(s) it's going to start harming the one gen is if you are nearing max weight and trying to move in multiple directions at once (like holding left and down while giving extra thrust while turning your ship with the mouse) or if you're in battle and all weapons are firing and you try moving funky like I mentioned earlier.

Also, Artemis, out of all your ships, which one is the best to upgrade? I'm currently using the Tempest and took out a bunch of Drones the other day and now have enough to make a bunch of aux cores but I noticed that in the comments of that ship's section you said one should look into a larger ship to upgrade (due to limited upgrade on that one). Would this ship here be the one to start upgrading or would you recommend one of your other ones? If one wanted to take on legacy, would you do it in an upgraded version of this ship or use one of your dedicated Legacy hunting ships?

Does it run ok with the cpu so far over? Figure if I remove the drills and put 20 crew in I can even it out til I get an aux core in maybe.

Hey Artemis, do happen to take requests? I am no good at building ships from the ground up. I know exactly what I am looking for and have been quite impressed with many of your builds. In fact I am currently using three of your ships that I have modified quite a bit. I would really like to replace the Honeybadger with a ship that would better fit my needs.
Let me know. I sent you a friend request on here and I also have Discord.

They made sure that doesnt work some time ago Aargh. Until 3 years ago you could still dock an HV w/ active turrets to a CV but they shut that down as well.
Aargh Tenna Sep 23, 2023 @ 8:12am
Or sort of dock another Star Atlas to it upside-down?
Aargh Tenna Sep 23, 2023 @ 8:10am
So have anyone tried to dock two CVs with lots of turrets to it and take on Tovera?
ArtemisRouge  [author] Sep 22, 2023 @ 6:38pm
Hell yeah brother. ;)
Funkymonkey870 Sep 22, 2023 @ 3:23pm
This thing is amazing! It does EVERYTHING
Buddy Sep 22, 2023 @ 10:52am
You make too many good ships. You need to make a super carrier type vessel to carry all of your ships!
ArtemisRouge  [author] Sep 22, 2023 @ 9:20am
Its a Reforged Eden ship Heffa. You'd have to modify it in creative for Vanilla use. Lightss01 is the small light model, it looks like a small box, not sure why that would be a forbidden device but you can try removing them.
Heffaklumpen Sep 22, 2023 @ 3:00am
I get forbidden blocks in my list so i cant spawn this in, i tried finding it in creative and its says to many cpu 4 and guns and thats a easy fix then it says forbidden 279 LightSS01???

Updated, Added Elevator sections @ top of main elevator chute, added sensors to additional doors for easier entry . Thanks for the positive comments guys!

This proves, the flying box still works :) Good ship!

Very versatile ship. Def gonna give it a go in my next playthrough.

Love the new design. Looking forward to flying the finished product
