I'm not talking about the like button, I was talking about liking the map so much that they wanted to buy map stamps from the Mann co store for them.
I agree that the workshop rating could use improvement as well as map displayment. Few years ago I did a test on this trend, you can see it at my workshop submissions. SImple TEST submission got more attention at a quiet time, just because it was submitted when there were not many other maps being made and people vote it regardless, without seeing screenshots and shown only unfinished map sketch ingame.
Recent years i've submitted maps later time, because my maps have been completed later. Map makers who have a lot of social media interaction, followers and friends, their works gets shown more at the front and upvoted. I do not have this option, as I barely have friends or use social media.
Some of my stuff has been there too, when I have submitted maps earlier. So your analysis is flawed in this regard as well as the amount of people who in your opinion, dislike my maps. I know my maps arent bad maps, even though you seem to paint a picture like that from them.
Thanks anyway.
I'm actually happy seeing this recent trend of people being more tough on workshop creators, cause Valve obviously doesn't have the best quality control when it comes to this game, so seeing people not just blindly rating every mediocre map that gets published to the workshop 5 stars makes me really hopeful. And I hope it makes these workshop creators make better stuff as a result.
Lots of heated in moment comments have clearly been posted and even less comments from the people who actually like the maps I do. I would hope Valve would put out a feedback form into the game where players could type comments end of the match that would get posted to workshop.
Theres roughly maybe ~50 negative comments throughout all my maps and there are thousands of people who like the maps and have bought map stamps because of it. Regardless, thanks for the feedback.
New update for this map will propably be out tomorrow.
I firmly believe on what I do and have confidence on my own work. Obviously I cannot please everyone and thats ok. Thanks for the feedback.
I'm not insisting that you must change your pallet or building style immediately but why not try something different? That why I downvoted: not because I hate you or something but because I see just a bit of will to experiment, progress in matter of style and try to work harder on presentation of your creation. No evil intended and I wish you luck in your hard and diligent hobby.
your regular maps were better man
One final say to the matter of me and my maps. If you dont like my maps, thats completely fine. But if you downvote them just because "its another ics map" then thats wrong way to do it.
If you try them out ingame, you can see theres a lot of effort put into each and everyone of my maps. I've spent months and countless of hours creating all these maps on my free time and i'm no professional at it and i use what tools and skills that I have. I do these maps because I love the game and playing it, just like most of you do. Thanks.
However, update to this map coming tomorrow or day after tomorrow. Thanks!
I mean, even ignoring how profitable these maps might be. Like, don't you just wanna do something different every once in a while? Switch things up a bit???
The points are named as such on purpose, I figured people will recognize that as you did too. So that idea worked as I intended. The points are named after spellbook pages on Brimstone and that was also intentional.
Thanks for the feedback.
im calling the map boring because its the same old same old he always makes.
im comparing this map to the maps that are being made this year because theyre the competition he has to one-up right now.
Its not because the bar has been raised high this year that everything else that isnt using vscript or fully original is shit.
About the map, well, i think its decent for what it is, classic halloween payload, good stuff, i just think the fire ghost should have his texture reskinned into orange, just saying.
its just a normal ''ics halloween map''. it getting bland and boring when you essentially always make the same thing over and over again.
when i compare it to the same maps we got on the workshop this year so far this really falls behind in terms of quality.
you even named the points to ''HELLSTONE'' ''BRIMSTONE'' ''GRAVESTONE'' and ''TERROR''.
i can understand if thats temporary but if thats going to be final thats incredibly lazy.
and when compared to other halloween maps we've gotten so far this just really falls behind quality-wise.
