Someone made an unofficial suggestions thread already; you're free to leave suggestions there, but to be perfectly honest it's really unlikely they'll get added.
Near the bottom there are presets for turning all sounds on/off at once. If you want just one sound, I'd use the presets to turn them all off, and then turn the metal pipe back on.
the config that makes enemies and bosses play death sfx does works, but the player (neither the taunts) ones don't
This can sometimes happen when other mods mess with death related hooks; it appears this mod never gets a chance to play its sounds in certain cases, depending on what other mods are doing with on-death stuff. Personally I've not encountered this issue, but's it been reported previously.
I know a lot of people have asked for it, I just don't know how to implement it.
If you're a little modding-savvy then you could probably extract the source code and then build a version that replaces the sound effects with your own collection (Though that'd be alot of effort since you'd need your own placeholder sprites for what sprites do exist, and you'd have ~110 sounds to replace)
I know some mods add their own folders to the tML filespace so users can have more in-depth customization, but I don't know how to do that. I'm also not confident the current system for choosing and playing sounds would easily integrate custom sounds.
