No worries, it's my bad, I checked the saved preset for game start and yea there's 1 random relation generated at start, so it was probably this one and I just missed it.
User error, what a surprise lol.

@Xeonzs - Hi! Yes, as noted in the mod description this is a known limitation of the mod as trying to prevent transient relationships would have nasty overhead on pawn generation which is already a pretty expensive process. Apologies for the inconvenience!

I guess I'll just consider it an exception, don't think I had issues with Endling before, apparently a mother was generated for her which the Ork was married to, perhaps the mother relation was generated at game start, but not discovered yet.

I just had the game spawn an Ork from the "Orks of the Rim" mod as the stepfather of my colony leader who is a modified baseliner with no other relations, even though she always has the endling trait.

I don't see any issues in the debug log regarding character generation, any idea on what might be causing this or where to look?

@Curry - Endling currently is not, as its primary use case was for players to add it via mods such as Pawn Editor or Character Editor, which can generally bypass trait limits anyways. Its commonality for natural generation is 0.1, which is half of even the most rare vanilla traits.

There is unfortunately no quick and easy way of changing this, as there is no simple field that can be added to traits to make them bypass vanilla limits; vanilla sexuality traits are added via a specific second code pass and it is actually flawed because there are circumstances in which said sexuality traits can still take up one of a colonist's initial trait slots and thus not actually be "free". If this is desired behavior though, I can certainly put it on my to-do list.

Is this also considered a trait outside of the 3 Traits limit, like homosexual or asexuality?

@PolySoup - Strange, the method I target does not seem to have meaningfully changed and it seems to be working again after a recompile with no meaningful changes.

Please give v1.2.1 a try and let me know if it is still throwing an error.

There was an update to HAR yesterday, and now the HAR transplier is throwing an error.

@Feet Hater from what I read prepare carefully is a spaghetti code mess and the way it injects its code into the game is harmful to tps at endgame.

I've always used the Prepare Carefully mod to manually remove all relationships to a pawn but this might just make that massively quicker and easier

Oh funny i stumble upon this and it would fit my main character perfectly. It was always awkard to find family members on a fantasy world after being the only survivor of your spaceship crash.

Would it be plausible to make this automatically apply to newborns in the colony?

They are, after all, not going to have any relationship that is not via the indirect route of their parents.

Nice. It kind of annoyed me when I made custom xenotypes that are only meant for one person to have only to the game add in other random pawns of the same xenotype. I kind of ruined the backstory I made in head about the those characters. Now I can make remake play through of the super solider dad, cybrog mom, and magical child play-through. :)

@Night Foxx - That is somewhat more difficult as races are tied to PawnKindDefs and those are tied to Factions, plus HAR allows you to inject custom PawnKindDefs into other factions so there is no easy programmatic way of disabling an entire race from spawning.

"Last of their line" might be more appropriate than "kind", but I like the idea. Seems useful. But now I want to know if it's possible to make a mod for HAR that'll do similar with a race. Whatever race your starting pawn is, it is the only one of that race left. No others will spawn on the planet...

A very dramatic name for an actually quite useful mod. It doesn't always make sense for your colonist from another world to be related to every man woman and child they meet on this one far-flung rimworld.

Way better than the mod that prevents ANY random relations for all pawns, makes this feel more unique for runs where maybe a lone survivor takes in refugees of other races (a run I've been wanting to do). Thank you!

Thanks for sharing, I always play with a demi-god protagonist supported by 2 of her kind albeit less powerful, crash landing on this strange planet.
Then the next day her husband is in a trade caravan....... Immersion gone.

hmm this gives me an idea for a new colony: a group of endling knights, the last of their kind, out to rebuild and fix all that has been lost.

cue adding all possible hostile factions and trying to survive.
