historically spartan wahman defended sparta agianst prryhus over night so the spartan men can sleep peacefully
they even built a makeshift wall as well. :) wish this was a vanilla unit for spartas garrison for a small detail :P

@Tdub16s - These units are purely intended as garrison units. Although I've found the AI using them in armies, so perhaps I trolled myself and made them playable? :P

@TCOG - I made them as a garrison unit, as an ode to the women of Sparta who helped defend the city against Phyrrus of Epirus. As such, they are intended to be more of a makeshift unit, having just grabbed a weapon and any oddment of armour they could find before heading out to fight.

Plus, two-handed animations are pretty rare, so those are cool to watch!

You'll need the Greek States DLC to play as Sparta. Due to the fact they would be infringing upon DLC the all factions playable mods do not include any factions unlocked via DLC.

No problem and thanks for replying. But I cannot find Sparta among the factions available for custom play, not even after using mod that allows all factions to be played. Do I need something more to play sparta?

@Strongsword - The city centre building chain is the one common type of building all settlements have, and you can't get rid of. When playing as a Hellenic faction (Sparta) you get these troops as a garrison once you convert the city centre of any settlement you capture.

@Michael - No, you do not require the DLC.

Do you need the Daughters of Mars DLC to use this?

Two questions, please assist: 1) What does "Hellenic city centre building chain" actually mean? 2) Can you use these units in custom battle?

Iceni women fought nude and painted blue. I cannot find any full body models for women, only men, in TWEAK... do they exist. am i looking in the wrong place?

@ Silenium Need to make a Germanic unit different than Britain. Takes time to do it right.
Champloo's doing research and I expect Sebidee to add units too.
I would suggest giving the Suebi women the new Germanic sword if they aren't using it.
I would do blue war paint and double handed swords, or shield and sword or spear or bow and/or chariots for Iceni.

Everyone's game get's updated with models and parts, so that DLC does not interfere with MP when one player does not own a particular set. I've used exsisting weapons and armour with some of the new female skins to create a brand new unit, so you won't need to DLC to play with them.
