hi Wenza, could u add a CBA option for how long the smoke lasts, currently its a bit short

An update has been posted, hopefully this should perform a bit better with affecting AI visibility. Smoke particles should be moved by wind and rotor wash now.

Yeah, the AI definitely sees through this more than it should, and for some reason with this back again I'm getting CTDs.

Rotor wash from helicopters doesn't seem to directly affect the smoke, which is a huge bummer. That was one of my favorite things about splendid smoke; you could see the smoke columns twist and move in the distance as helicopters ingressed and egressed near them.

Wenza, regarding AI's visibility through Splendid Smoke, I think I read somewhere that it has to do with altering the hitbox size of the smoke. I agree with others: If this mode offers better performance AND could actually provide the cover it appears to, you might have one hell of an awesome updated mod here.

This plus the main Photon VFX mod are a must have for me now. Better visuals and better performance than vanilla. Amazing stuff.

Since this doesn't suddenly allow AI to see through smoke, any clues why I might suddenly have that problem? I don't use Splendid.

Both mods are altering the same config values, so one would override the other, causing a conflict.
I'm not 100% sure how Splendid have configured their stuff to affect AI more, but both mods alter the particle effects in different ways.

Could you explain why is it not compatible with "Splendind Smoke", do you know the reason? I really like Photon VFX, but at the same time I would love smoke to affect AI more.

SPE has their own smoke shell effects, I have no plans to change things for SPE at this time, maybe in the future but I haven't set any time aside for it

Would it be feasible to make this compatible with Spearhead's smokes? They seem to be using a different config and not inheriting from the base.

Does it have at least slightly more smoke than vanilla? I currently use Enhanced Smoke, but it does impact fps and is a bit too much smoke, anyway.

Only smoke grenades and smoke rounds for artillery, as stated in the mod description : "Changes affect smoke grenades, grenade launcher smoke rounds, and smoke artillery rounds."

Read the description and previous comments, your question has been asked and answered several times - this mod does not change AI for smoke, so no, it does not affect AI vision like with Splendid Smoke.

How many of these (hand) smokes can normal Ultra settings handle before they stop rendering properly, vs. vanilla?

Splendid uses a different particle shape, and a higher particle drop rate (more particles = lower fps, more work for GPU/CPU to do). It should work on AI the same as a normal smoke grenade in a multiplayer setting.

No, releasing Photon VFX Smoke this way means people who don't want to use the main Photon VFX mod can still upgrade their smoke FX - this mod can be run standalone or alongside Photon VFX main.

THIS is something I've really been looking for lately - Splendid Smoke just tanks the living CRAP out of my FPS. I'll give it a good test run today :D:
