In the initial version, I reduced their damage and armor penetration by half while doubling their ammunition. However, they didn't perform as effectively as I had hoped. As an alternative, I might consider a third iteration with a slightly larger ammunition count than the current one and slightly lower damage, in order to gauge its effectiveness.
It's worth noting that the unit's usage has evolved. Rather than sending them forward to eliminate targets without support, they now operate just behind our own lines. They patiently wait for the clash to commence, and then swiftly move to the flanks and rear to eliminate troublesome enemy units. Finally, they converge on the remaining enemy forces as a whole to secure victory.
Hi Daniel,
In my concept, they function as glass cannons, requiring them to engage in close combat, unleash a barrage of arrows, and then transition into melee combat, essentially resembling highly skilled High Elf Rangers.
To maintain their glass cannon nature, I wanted them to be effective against all types of foes. The short range signifies their need to get close enough to exploit weak points in their enemies, with their arrows striking with formidable force.
Cool ideas here I like it!
