I use reference images/models in blender and use the measure tool to get proper proportions. and then its just up to your experience to know/try possible xml pieces to achieve the shape.

I had an outside controller hooked to axis 3.. Works great now.
I gotta say, this car is amazing. Drives awesome, and it handles beautifully.

it shifting for me. only left right arrow key(clutch) and pit limiter will prevent it from shifting(in theory).
