I just tried to activate this, because it sounds very interesting, but unfortunately it seems to my CK2 crashing when I try to enact a intrigue plot (I specifically tried with a plot to revoke a title, because that persistently gets to the point where I can enact it quickly.)

Mod is still broken; when trying to adopt feudalism the mod reverts you back to a tribal kingdom within a few days.

Please try to update when you get the time! I'd really like to use this, it looks very unique.

Confirmed: 3.2.1 - breaks ability to plot to kill anyone.
notthatguy Jun 18, 2019 @ 11:43am
it seems to be causing a minor bug in my game wereby i can no longer plot to kill anyone. hope it gets an update

@lian2793 - Alas, while I did make significant progress on it, I lost motivation when a new patch dropped and added a bunch more work, so I never ended up completing it, sorry! I do intend to return to it, but I've not had the time as of late, so I don't want to get your hopes up. I will be sure to make a note here if and when I do get it working, however.
lian2793 Jun 9, 2019 @ 4:11am
@Anyasia Lightbringer did you fix it?
Anyasia Lightbringer Nov 27, 2018 @ 3:37pm
Also of note, I discovered that all the new Byzantine mechanics—Imperial Government, and Imperial Elective—are broken by the mod; the Empire actually gets thrown onto Gavelkind in default of its proper succession law!

I'm going to work on patching this over the next few days; I'll be sure to post an update if I get it working.

2/2

I have not tested female participation in tournaments or hunts, or the adoption of the laws by World Historic Figures. Also note that I tested all of this without Conclave , as it seems likely to bugger it up.

If all you want is to enable female inheritance in the long-term, this mod will still let you do that. If you're interested in the other features, it's currently broken. Hopefully @yclept will take a look at it again someday, because I still can't make head nor tail of it. :(
Anyasia Lightbringer Nov 25, 2018 @ 6:38pm
@Flick Nope, it's a bug with the current patch of the game.

I did some (fairly) extensive testing last night with the version of the mod @CampinKarl fixed after Jade Dragon , and which I posted to the Paradox forum here [forum.paradoxplaza.com] (@NiftyNinjaa, you might want to check that out).

My results so far:
- The law exists in the game, can be changed when it should be able to be changed, and can be changed by AI (who tend to want to limit status of women, per the design).
- The law allows the adoption of cognatic inheritance laws as it should.
- The law does not allow the appointment of women to the council (except possibly allowing the appointment of one's mother as Spymaster—I'm not sure if this is the mod's doing, or if this has changed in the base game).

heya great mod, but i have a question - I'm a duke in a kindgom and I have the limited laws of women and yet I can't install a married woman as my steward - is this because my king has to institute it first?
CampinKarl Apr 15, 2018 @ 7:47am
@NiftyNinjaa Try not to tamper with the original files (the 00_plots, for one) in the Steam game folder (or back them up I think so you can try and correct any experiments when you debug)

That's pretty much everything, unless you have DLCs or more Mods that affect "Diplomatic Actions" and such (I only have the [Sons of Abraham] and [Legacy of Rome] on me). I use the latest version of CK, so I think it's a conflicting file thing.
NiftyNinjaa Apr 14, 2018 @ 1:35pm
@CampinKate Is this all that you did? Buecause I did this and plots are still a no-go for me. Do I have to delete the plot line from the 00_plots file? Is this workaround compatible with the latest version of CK?
CampinKarl Apr 9, 2018 @ 6:51am
At present, this mod PREVENTS plots to kill in the latest patch. :KneelingBow:

But after hours of tinkering, I found a workaround!

Hon hon hon hon.

If this happens to you, basically navigate to Steam/steamapps/common/Crusader Kings II/common/objectives and open your "00_plots.txt". You'll want to COPY the "Plot to Kill" section codes which is line 635 until line 1291.

From there, navigate to this mod which is in your Documents Folder. Go to Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/mod and find "statusofwomen.zip". Open it and go to common/on_actions to find a file named "StatusOfWomen_on_actions.txt". This is the file that messed with the "Plot to Kill" section, so basically PASTE the code from the previous paragraph here. It should enable the plots again, as it did for me.

3 years and nobody posted a workaround, even in the forums?

God bless, hope this helps. :stpeterdome: :thewordofgod:

Great mod!
Anyasia Lightbringer Nov 20, 2017 @ 7:45pm
At present, this mod being enabled prevents plots to kill in the latest game patch. Figured I'd let you know. :)
Tsyki Aug 19, 2017 @ 12:36am
Tried it but at the moment it crashes the game after Day 2 of playing. (w/o Reaper's and Monks)
Búri Aug 5, 2017 @ 12:03pm

Edison Coni Mar 21, 2017 @ 7:06pm
This is one of my favorite mods. Congratulations on a job well done. Hoping for an update to Monks & Mystycs.

and also does it work with saves i already havewithout the mod?
Dary Oct 1, 2016 @ 7:15pm
I really like the way your mod works. If you have time, could you put a link to the 2.5.2 version in the forum thread? I would love to use it with the Mythos mod
yclept  [author] Aug 27, 2016 @ 7:51am
Quickie update for patch 2.6.1. Very minimal testing of this I'm afraid.

Should work with Reapers, but I haven't tested with the DLC itself active -- I don't actually have it yet, as I'm not playing CK2 myself these days.

Please stand by for the manual download, I haven't put it up yet.

Frankly there's a lot in the mod that needs a complete overhaul, to fit better with modern CK2 mod coding facilities, and to activate a bunch of newer events it doesn't currently know about.
Dangerbunny Aug 27, 2016 @ 2:09am
aww love this mod, but reapers gone and broke it
michel Aug 25, 2016 @ 9:26pm
Hey guys, just to let you know. This mod breaks in the latest version (2.6.1) . I understand that paradox added their own flavor of gender equality. I'm not sure if it's as gooed as this mod yet, though.
Tomochi Mar 14, 2016 @ 2:02pm
Great mod. Thanks for the update. I cannot play without it :)
jpinard Mar 13, 2016 @ 1:08pm
Excellent mod. So glad it's in game now. Would be nice if PDX gave credit to who inspired good in-game changes if in favt they did see this.
yclept  [author] Mar 4, 2016 @ 1:37pm
Manual install now up.
yclept  [author] Mar 4, 2016 @ 12:52pm
Updated for compatibility with CK2 2.5.2. No other changes. Manual install to follow later.
yclept  [author] Feb 15, 2016 @ 10:39am
Manual download added/updated.
yclept  [author] Feb 14, 2016 @ 11:30am
Okay, the version I've just updated should now be compatible with 2.5.1, both with and without Conclave.

It needs more testing than I've been able to give it, but it seems to be all working.

I'll put up the manual download sometime tomorrow.

A couple of things to be aware of:

- if you don't have Conclave active then law appears on the 'Obligations' law tab, rather than than proper 'Realm' tab. It doesn't appear to make any difference, but it is confusing.

- If you add the mod an existing game that Conclave active, it won't pick up your current setting of the law and you'll be reset back to Traditional. This is because internally it is a different law, not a modded version of the Conclave law.
Scarlet Feb 6, 2016 @ 10:03pm
So I asume this mod won't be updated until at least a week from now ? yclept ?
I really love this mod so anything you can do to make it work again would be awesome :)
yclept  [author] Feb 3, 2016 @ 10:22am
@Zaxim, Rest assured I will be updating the mod, as the vanilla law seems a bit simplistic in its effects, and I rejected using Tolerance tech as a constraint -- in favour of piety costs -- right from the start.

However I've got work out exactly how to update it without making a complete mess of things. Even without the DLC enabled, all the code for their Status of Women law is still there, and they have stuff checking for its law level, and they've changed how some things (such as defining the conditions for council jobs) work non-trivially.

Also, I should be interacting with the hnew council voting, and there are new modding commands for turning matrilinael marriage on or off which Conclave is using, and I haven't worked how either of those work yet.

It's not going to be just merging the updates into my mod with a few tweaks, like it often is, is all.

So I probably won't be get something up *this* weekend. It might have to wait until the one after.
Zaxim Feb 2, 2016 @ 12:56pm
So I just checked out the patch 2.5.1 of CK2, but I haven't bought Conclave yet.

It appears that the gender law tab works without the DLC, but they have set it up so Muslim rulers are still only Agnatic-Open. The best part of your mod is that you can change the succession law for any religion/culture. I would really appreciate it if you actually updated your mod to work with the new patch.

I would be happy to purchase the DLC for you if you haven't gotten it yet , if that would help motivate you to work on it :steamhappy:
yclept  [author] Feb 2, 2016 @ 3:34am
@rickter, Yes, saw that some form of status of women law, is a Conclave feature only today :)

That's what I get for not keeping up with CK2 :)

Given this, it is unlikely the usual merge with new code update -- which is what I normally for a new patch -- for the mod is ever going to work

Almost certainly y'all going need to disable the mod for the Conclave patch (even if you don't have the DLC) at least for now.

I'm actually not all sure what I'm going to do with the mod, and its going to take me a while to work it out. I know this is going to suck for those who aren't getting the DLC.
yclept  [author] Feb 2, 2016 @ 3:21am
@saiso, if you're a Cathar (or Messalian) your *supposed* to not even see the law at all, since the law is irrelevant to you, as you get everything that the 'Notable' gives just by be being a Cathar. It's weird that your seeing it, not that you can't move it.
ɌƗȻꝀŦɆɌ Jan 26, 2016 @ 9:12pm
gratz, just saw the screenshots of the new conclave expansion and it looks like you inspired a feature :D
Saisio Jan 20, 2016 @ 1:10pm
correcton cathar heretic, and just notice they have acces to all the laws by default, but still confused over the faqt I can't change that law at all regardless of being that relgious faction.
Saisio Jan 20, 2016 @ 12:43pm
Quite francly confused, playing as catalan heretic haven't change the law during my current reign and how the heck do I get the requirement for have the next status of woman law?
adding a screen shoot to future notefying my frustration http://prntscr.com/9so78q
Alfred Hitchcock Jan 6, 2016 @ 6:08pm
Does anyone know if this is compatible with the AGOT mod?
lemuria Jan 2, 2016 @ 9:24am
please upgrade
yclept  [author] Dec 24, 2015 @ 6:09am
All, sorry for the delay in replying I haven't been on Steam for a while.

@Sir Conrado, Sure go ahead, if you're still interested. Could you let me know when you have it up, as I'd be interested in seeing if I could integrate any translation into the original if that's okay with you? Also I'd probably want to give you a link.

@jameswillaims, I assume you mean the case where your heir was landed and they changed the law in their own demesne, and then when they become your character they can't change the law because they already used their own change?

I agree this isn't ideal but I haven't been able to come up with a solution I'm happy with. I don't reallly want to to reset the flag just because a character has inherited a higher title, nor do I want to have special rules for player characters.

Hobocommando Dec 23, 2015 @ 11:57pm
Is it possible to make it so that you can change the law with one character instead of having to wait for them die and change it again as the heir?
Sir Conrado Nov 30, 2015 @ 1:42am
Thank you for great mod! I have a question: Can I translate this mod into polish language, and upload to workshop? Of course I post info and link to original mod :)
Wait for answer.
yclept  [author] Nov 1, 2015 @ 1:34am
@stickypepsi, CK2 2.4.4 and 2.4.5 didn't change any of the base files that the mods overrides, so it should be fine.
stickypepsi13 Oct 20, 2015 @ 3:46pm
Compatible with 2.4.4?
Mattebubben Sep 23, 2015 @ 3:04pm
Would it be possible to make a variant of this mod that only affects certain religions.

What im looking for is to be able to do an Old Gods campaign with shield maidens / Female "viking" leaders.

But without the AI of none Norse/cathar Nations getting a tonne of female rulers etc.
[Σ] Maxxie Sep 19, 2015 @ 11:41pm
