Yup. Still works fine. I'll officially update it at some point.

Nah it still works, though I wouldn't mind an "update" as in it saying it's good for 1.12

Any chance of an update? It doesn't seem to work anymore in 1.12 at least for me

Is this mod achievement-compatible?

They started to trigger again when I disabled this mod. It could be because the defines file in this mod only has changes for the legacy costs and overwrites the defines default file or maybe in another mod, disabling the age categories that tell the events when to trigger.

I don't believe my mod and that mod should interact at all (this mod literally just changes a few costs in the defines), but I'll take a look at it in my free time.

This mod was keeping child education/personality events from triggering in my games.

That's true I suppose! People who start with legacies, like Karlings or Bjorn in this case, will have some slight advantages.

Personally, I don't think the bonuses are big enough to cause a true steamroll, but I certainly see how some AI could be more dangerous with them. I can't dynamically change the cost for players versus AI, or in other ways unfortunately, but if people would like, I can look into being able to set the base cost and the subsequent costs using a gamerule. So for instance, make it 250 and then 250 more for each perk after. I'm pretty sure that's an option I could make!

That way everyone could decide on their own balance :)

well if you start as a count or duke in Norway in 867 and Bjorn with 4 legacies in warfare or pillage is going to be a big threat when he inevitably attacks you. Now i dont mind this but it could lead to a steamroll as the other guy fears. I think it's great tho and i appriciate the mod!

I don't believe there's a way to dynamically change defines to change it to just the player's, but I haven't seen any AI use the perks to such an advantage that they steamroll. They don't strategize perks in the same way a human can, so they can't use them to their full advantage. Sure, they might get some extra dread or bonuses that make there realms ever slightly more stable, but the AI aren't noticeably different.

is there a way you could make a separate version for player only? some AIs would steamroll with this mod
kathith1234  [author] May 23, 2023 @ 9:51am
Yes. AI also get the cheaper legacies. I'll go ahead and at that question to the FAQ
Dr.Savage May 22, 2023 @ 8:29pm
does this affect AI as well?
