You are correct, they shouldn't be at war in 2012 but I decided not to adjust the alliances with the present state of game development because they have been changing a lot and updating between versions can take a lot of time.
You're welcome :)
There are TIFaction templetes, and Habs, and Objective's and such, but no TIConfig that I'm able to find.
Delete the TIConfigTemplate file in the mod's folder
@DreadGrunt
I've been working on adapting the 1983 scenario to the latest Terra Invicta 0.4.0, the main thing remaining are the new factions.
EXALT has been added to replace the Initiative,
They will replace the Initiative and I'm currently working on their unique orgs and their cells' insignia.
* XCOM faction will be removed and republished as a separate mod.
* 1983 scenario will contain a new faction (Third Front) representing Communist China, which then balances the factions by having two Western and two Communist ones.
* Gladio and Third Front will be both radical and anti-alien factions while SDI and RYaN will remain neutral (to be tested).
Its working now, thanks. I think downloading it from in-game made the difference because I tried that earlier and it was still crashing.
Anyway, I look forward to playing it, thanks.
Just checked it again at my side, mod starting properly with the 1983 borders, etc.
From your description, either there's an issue with your installation or a third mod overriding some of the files.
Try disabling mods altogether, exit the game, delete XCOM 1983 folder, restart TI, then resubscribe the mod on Steam or the ingame mods tab.
Okay thanks for checking,
I tried again and if I press "enable" without pressing the "Use Mods" button it launches, and in the new game I have the option to pick the Mod's factions, but it's still in 2022. But some things are in like the Eurasion Union is called the "Soviet Union" and the techs are there. But it's all still 2022 stats and borders and flags and things.
And if I press the "use mods" after I've loaded in with it enabled it'll crash trying to start a new game and then keep crashing before I can get to the main menu again. (I have to go into the files then and put the mod back into "disabled" and then it'll launch).
I tried the Roman Empire mod just to check and that works fine, so just seems to be this one.(no other mods downloaded when I tried this one)
Idk, it's weird. I might try the Github version later on when I've more time, maybe that'll work.
Anyway thought I'd elaborate, good luck with it anyway it seems cool!
Just tested the mod with 0.3.118, game started without a problem.
I'm getting CTDs before it loads into the main menu when I activate the mod and try and re-launch. (I didn't play before that hotfix so I don't know if it was working beforehand, I don't see a 3.115 beta in the to rollback to either).
Thanks
As I mentioned before, the objective now is to split the mod into two, one containing the 1983 scenario, the second one just adding XCOM as a faction to replace the Resistance in the vanilla game.
但是在十一月的更新后,模组与游戏出现了严重的不兼容现象。这会导致闪退而无法游玩,希望作者可以修复一下:)
This is a very good module that meets my need for a "Cold War script".
However, after the November update, there were serious incompatibilities between the mod and the game. This will cause flash back and can not play, hope the author can fix it:)
I've gone back to the vanilla game for the past months to get a feel of the recent changes to the campaign settings, so that's why this mod hasn't been updated for a while.
I'm also considering splitting the mod into two, one with 1983 setting and the other with the XCOM faction.
I can't find this module from the script settings, Who can tell me how to start it? I really want to play it:(
Thanks, I haven't added much more content lately because I'm finishing a mod for another game but I'll get back to this in the future.
In which case, then you've got yourself a willing volunteer. Lol. Feel free to give me whichever role you think suits me best, though if I were to have a personal preference, I'd like to voice the leader of Operation: RYaN......because of course........plus, it also gives me an excuse to practice my Russian. :3
I'd love to replace the voice lines and even get new characters for the new factions if possible.
Not yet, first I'm focusing on finishing specific orgs for every new faction, then I'm gonna start rewriting all the fluff to fit with the XCOM and 1983 themes. There's already some fluff in the faction descriptions and such but a lot more still needs to be done.
I've been already looking at adding new localization text but it's quite an endeavour because it will require either a whole new story or some massive adaptations.
At the moment though my priority is to finish the new orgs and then reset the population/GDP values back to 1983, while trying to figure out the best solution for the tech tree, descriptions, story, etc.
Great work on the mod so far, it's giving a new RP dimension to the game.
Can you send me the full log on Discord?

Yes, the mod is planned to change both the population and the national GDP to their 1983 values, although that is not an easy task (a lot of research/balancing needed).
