One more small patch to Terra Invicta with some additional code to support the DLC being released tomorrow and a few other bug fixes:

Stability
- Fix "hide UI" hotkey from triggering when using text input fields. This was causing all kinds of weird problems.
- Adjusted save/load code in an attempt to prevent crashes during decompression of gz save games
- Safety code for a crash in hab-related notifications if habs and getting founded and blown up very quickly
- Federation initialization fix so really old playthroughs can be updated to this build without crashing

Other fixes
- Fixed selected tech display of requirements when in sub-trees
- Fixed tech/project prereq UI sometimes displaying alternate prereqs in the wrong order
- TIProjectTemplate.HasUncompletedMilestoneInChain() : Fixed bug where sometimes it would miss milestones in the prereq chain
- Fixed some tech tree items being overlapped by other UI elements in top of tech tree
- CP cap increase will now display as positive value in faction effects list.

This build adds a number of internal features for Monday's DLC release that enable a wider range of starting config in scenarios, as well as adjusting the AI to handle those scenarios and overall play better.

This build also significantly improves game performance in three areas: 1) campaign startup speed; 2) 2nd and later save loads or campaign starts in a single session; 3) during the mission planning phase for AI.

This build is compatible with earlier saves. There may be some balance changes that are more apparent in 2022 and 2070 scenarios. We have added a rollback branch in Steam Betas that allows you to revert to the prior (1.0.39) build.

It has been a busy few months for Terra Invicta with two updates focusing on overhauling the trade AI, accessibility improvements, faction defeat, and more. There was also a recent reveal of some major news that Terra Invicta will be receiving its first DLC, Terra Invicta - Dark Skies, releasing July 27, 2026, which will bring two new scenarios to explore and two new shipsets for players to use. Terra Invicta build 1.0.32 heavily overhauled the trade AI, focusing on making the AI better at finishing larger, more beneficial trades, as well as standardizing and improving the overall trade logic. The new focus is on trade categories, which will interact and be scored separately with the new trade system when making a trade agreement. Terra Invicta Build 1.0.38 is the most recent update to come out and focuses on accessibility improvements, faction defeat, AI improvements, and UI improvements. Some of the standout changes include adding a magnifying glass feature to assist with reading small text, the UI scale feature is now a slider and has a larger max size, and a "massive solar system" option at game creation, where you can play a campaign on a 472 object Solar System.

Terra Invicta - Dark Skies is the most recent news to be released around Terra Invicta. In Terra Invictas first DLC, players will be able to experience, play through, and defeat the alien threat in two new unique scenarios. The 2003 scenario begins on the eve of the US-led invasion of Iraq. Combat the alien threat long before the battle reaches the stars with new tech, projects, strategies, and tactics. The second scenario, the Broken Earth Scenario, thrusts players into an alternate history where the Cuban Missile Crisis went hot, causing the world to destroy itself with nuclear war. The main additions are accessibility improvements for small text and UI readability, a new campaign customization option that allows some factions to be defeated after enough time has passed, and a Massive Solar System configuration with 472 objects. This update also adds new orgs, new human thruster VFX, a simplified process for launching the final assault on REDACTED, AI improvements for hab capture and defense, and several UI changes for notifications, filters, ship lists, and ship detail screens.

• Added a magnifying glass feature to assist reading small text for anyone who needs it. It's enabled in the graphics settings and the default key to activate it is the backslash.
  
• The UI Scale feature is now a slider and has a larger max size. World space tooltips now respond to this feature.
  
• Weapon cards in combat are now larger and easier to read.

• Added a campaign customization that allows some factions to be defeated during a campaign once a sufficient amount of time has passed. Certain plot-critical factions and the player faction are immune to this effect.
  
• Added "Massive Solar System" config and localization, for 472-object Solar System. This includes 5-10 km moons of Jupiter and Saturn (Saturn now has 58 moons!), Eris and its moon, Gonggong and its moon, some previously deprecated KBOs and Centaurs, and about 20 5-12 km Amors, Apollos, and Mars-Crosser asteroids. This option may cause performance problems in late campaigns so is advised only for players with tolerance for that sort of thing. There's code to ensure aliens wouldn't put home base at dwarf planets where aphelion is > 55 AU from the sun (i.e. Eris and Gonggong).
  
• A passel of new orgs, primarily security and scientific agencies from mid-sized nations.
  
• New human thruster VFX better aligned with the propellant the thrusters use
  
• Simplified the process to launch the final assault on REDACTED

• The AI will now make an effort to capture habs with Marines and defend habs from capture.
  
• The AI will pursue orgs granting a space mining bonus to a much greater degree.
  
• Fixes to fleet construction orders, resupply orders, army routing, and trade.

• Added highlights and colorization for important values and terms in some UIs and notifications.
  
• Added a notification when the AI is trying to seize one of your habs
  
• Added intel screen prospecting & habsite filter for no faction presence
  
• Toggle UI hotkey now works in strategy layer too
  
• Ship class list hull sort now groups by hull size
  
• Added option to filter ships by fleet membership in ship detail screen
  
• Can access ship detail screen directly by clicking ships icons in top-left and bottom-right fleet views.
