how does one acheive a great tree TwT i wan to increase my colony size but we are a xenophobic colony and only like fellow euglena

you should separete the face from the skin gene, it gets weird when adding other things genes that alters it somewhat, like big and small, i tried adding jotun to it and it got weird
it also has some visual bugs when making ghouls from people with wood skin
the top half becomes ghoul and the bottom half becomes wood

@nomit2407 its the facial animation mods, i had the same problem and removing those worked

@TheRedPriest I noticed the same thing, if you open the mod folder and go to \Defs\AncestralTree_Defs there's a section <defName>PieceGreatTree</defName> all you have to do is change the <minAgeActive>0</minAgeActive> under it from 0 -> 20 (or whatever age you want) that should let them age normally until they hit the gene activation age, you might also want to make a local copy of the mod so steam doesn't overwrite the change (not sure if it would though)

Is there a reason why the range for planting great trees is so large? I love how they look, and want more in my base, but I can't get more then one. Could this be a setting? (if not, totally understand)

Euglena children age at such a fast rate they cannot learn. Had tow doing nothing but recreation and they go a single aspiration out of it. guessing the speed increase is applying to the whole race, not just after 20

can you add a mod option to disable the "activity: absorbed light?"
i gave my people the gene and the people's jobs are always outside anyways so stopping their job to just stand is kinda bad :(

Hey for some reason my Woodskin people dont have the Woodskin Faces just the skin on the torso. Is there maybe an issie with facial animations?

Update to my Tree guy:
He became 104 years old and died from an instant heart attack, i would suggest adding some kind of ritual or choice when he gets to become a Tree somehow.

No, at the moment you can not provoke it in any way, the pawn itself can accidentally turn after reaching a certain age.
And yes, it is possible that this is not a good thing, and maybe I will do the ritual of transformation.
For now, we can only hope for luck.

There is another major mod in development right now that was inspired by FleshBeast from the Anomaly dls. New race, xenopim, and lots of content. But so far there is not enough inspiration to finish it)

can you remove amber structures from the world gen? or add a mod option for it, the jungle map im playing in had 90% of the ruins amber, but even having it be 10% would be too much, it lessens the special-ness of it, its bright orange

It could still end up with an exotic trader, or a tribal shaman trader.

For anyone wanting a tree that can grow/plant ANY xenotype, use "WVC - Xenotypes and Genes" It has lots of cool stuff, but it has a xeno-tree that lets you get any kind of xenotype baby spawned as long as 80% of your colony has a gene for the xenotype you want. So say you wanted a sanguophage, 80% of your colonists would need a gene like the bloodfeeder gene, or deathrest gene, and you could choose for it to create baby sanguophages, or any other xenotype that that has those genes, but only one xenotype at a time. The only way to get the tree seed so far I've found is an occasional reward option for quests.

@rubus, You make a storage zone for corpses near the great tree, with like 3 tiles. When bodies are placed there they'll be turned to cocoons.

How do you plan cocoons?

could you add the option to slow down how fast the absorbed light drains as it i have had to place sun lamps were ever my people would be staying for awhile sense i like making mountain bases

so i would love if you add the settings to change up the drain

Does it happen to them in regular beds or in general while indoors as well?

hey this is an amazing mod! but why do they "fall off" the medical beds and need to be rescued, every few in-game hours? is this part of the mod or just a glitch?
