Awesome job with the hovering hex portion! That thing has been a sore to my eyes for too long!

Howdy folks, long time no see.

Fixed the crash, everything should be buttery smooth now, give it a go. Also, removed the obnoxious hovering hex portion of the unit selection FX, looks much better this way imo.

@Aktuarus - A lot of mods don’t work since the Giant DLC, you’ll have to wait until the mod owner updates it or takes up the mantle of updating it until then

Yup, crashes after giant kings update (don't even have the DLC), when selecting free cities.

While this mod worked fine in the past, I'm just going to write that as of the release of "Giant Kings" this mod appears to cause a crash when inspecting free cities... no idea why the update interferes with it because it was working fine before.

i really love this mod thank you for making it. But its kinda hard now to see if you friendly fire your own guys when you dont see the red hexes on targeted units.
Could you upload a light version with just a reduced opacity for the red hexes?

I am sorry, dear Grumpy Old Dwarf. I have not submitted a mod myself for Age of Wonders 4 and I would not know of anything more than the official modding guide.

From my lack of experience I can only tell, when you open up the launcher, and go to the "All installed mods" tab, the Upload Mod functionality there lets you pick whether you want a mod uploaded to Paradox or Steam.

Since I have no idea how it actually works, I thought it would be just that easy.
Sorry that I cannot tell you more despite I have made the request.

Dear Grumpy Old Dwarf, would you consider to publish your awesome mods via Paradox mods hosting as well, please? It would be beneficial for AoW4 players who own the game on other platforms like GOG.com and Epic Games Store, and therefore cannot download from Steam Workshop. There is a demand for your mods. No worries, if it is not possible. Thank you for your great mods which obviously are a great contribution to the community. Cheers ~

@Furoggu @apalatnikov Honestly I wouldn't know, as this was one of the very first things that I turned off as soon as I started playing the game =). I'm kinda surprised that the setting altered the world map, as it was located in a tactical .rpk.

Anyhow, you can easily reset it to default transparency, or set anything in between here:

CoreInterface.rpk -> Tactical Combat Interface -> Move Preview Color Settings

The exact option is near the top, called Move Grid Owned Color. Default opacity 255, I changed it to 60. Hope this helps!

Like the mod but in my opinion the unit movement range indicator opacity is far too low. In some cases it's excessively difficult to see, especially on the world map.

+1 to Miklas Those glow and flash effects are way to over the top indeed. I would be very glad for such a mod as well. The less clutter the better

One probably unintended effect is that AoE spells don't clearly show which units will be affected.

Nice mode. The modding guide doesn't describe changing UI (like this mod does), AI nor the scripting logic. Is there another mod guide for that?

+1 to Max asking for mist to be removed or reduced (on tactical and strategic map) would REALLY help! What is with this current dev trend of making everything so murky, then wanting to blind us with flashing lights?? Thanks for all your mods so far, much appreciated!!

Excellent mod, and it's much needed. The combat map is way too cluttered.

Is it possible to remove the glow from area effects too? For example from skills like shield wall or any of the defend actions that affect multiple hexes.
