1. I've wondered that too, but it's baked into the duplicate function which handles everything from surrogates to mind duplication, to core upload. The bug is fundamental to the game and has even happened with the obelisk from Anomaly in 1.5. This would most likely need to be fixed in the game engine.

2. If the minds are linked, every change you make to one will also happen to the other. It's bi-directional.

3. Just stay on 1.4 until this is fixed - That's what I do :]

shame the whole mod is on pause due to the surrogates bug & not just temp disable that aspect of it and allow copy/dupe/overwrite of minds or something.

also its been so long could we active edit the skills of a active linked pawn? or only the mind that was copy into the skymind? i think it was the first one near the end days at lest.

The mod is still working in 1.4, you simply have to roll back to your game version, but yeah, it's a nasty bug.

@Sweepy: T1 are drones in 1.4. They cannot learn and don't have a personality. If you want to be able to connect them, go to the settings, and move them from the drones category and into the sentient category. (Then restart).

This will give them the same mood system as humans. (They still don't care about being naked tho)

Can't upgrade a skill for T1 Android.

When i'm choosing him, i do not have a button to connect him to SkyMind. What do i need to do???

Same, which is why I joined the team, but until someone figures out the relationship bug with surrogates (See our discord for details), Killathon has refused to work on it and neither I nor anyone else on the team has the necessary skills to do it.

This is such a shame, I loved this and the Android mod, to the point where i would download Rimworld just to play with them and have a field day with one of the coolest mods around. Sad to see it won't be updated anymore

The M8 was axed, because there is no way to passively check whether a pawn is still alive thus requiring constant performance-heavy checks.

I'm sorry to confirm what the others have said. SMN is not getting updated to 1.5 in the foreseeable future, however, someone has announced that they will eventually try to fix the relationship bug, allowing us to take it back up.

Until then, try Altered Carbon . We are not affiliated with them, but it's the closest you can get atm.

Is the whole "internal temperature takes time to adjust" mechanic gonna stick around or be toggleable? Cause I'll be honest, that's kind of a make or break deal for me if a single power outage can wipe away all the work it takes to make s server-room. Even just saving the one I mentioned previously with a moderately rested repairman proved difficult.

@Peeper: MH:DR adds a customisation screen for drones that allows you to allocate their skills better for the role you intend them to do. I.e. Mining drones don't need cooking skills for example, so they can use their processing power for better mining.

That is more complicated, yes, and we haven't tested it for balance a whole lot yet, but we always have an open ear for improvements.

If you open the settings for MH:Core, you'll see three categories: Organic, sentient mechanical, and drones. By default, T1 are drones, but you can move them to the sentient mechanical category to have them behave the same as T2+, so they can use the skill servers. (Requires a game restart.)

@FG_Remastered, is MH:Drones Reporgrammed supports this feature and is it ballanced in any point? I find it more complicated and that makes drones less efficient (you get more without need to programm them not using this mod). And can I make drones learn only when i'm using skymind? I've tried to find it in options, but i couldn't. Btw what do you mean by making them sentient? Do i need to make drones sentient somehow via options? If yes, please tell me how.

@Peeper: Drones cannot learn. That's a fundamental part of what they are. If you want more complex drones, use higher Tiers, MH: Drones Reprogrammed or just make them sentient in the settings.

How much time? Because my repairman collapsed from exhaustion after repairing it so much it would've exploded three times over without him there, the entire time of which it was in a 70 degree (Fahrenheit) room. Kinda killed my momentum of the whole run tbh

@FailPail: Servers have an internal temperature that takes time to adjust to the room's temperature. That is intentional, albeit poorly explained. (Blame Killa - his idea.)

same issue as abbit and victator. everythign was fine till the temperature dropped for a bit but the networked inteligence kept taking damage at 21C. none of the other analysts or databases were taking damage even though they were in the same room. unstalling did not help it.

I too have encountered the same bug as Victator.H. It started after the temperature got too warm for a second, but once temperatures went back to stable they continued taking damage regardless.

Recently encountered (what I assume to be) a bug regarding servers (analysts , database , intelligence) . After constructing either of them, they often start taking damage randomly. At first I thought it was a temperature issue, but their hp ticks down even when in safe temperatures (12°C-32°C). It stops after uninstalling them or unpowering them, but only sometimes. I often have several (but not always all) in the same room taking damage, so it's not environmental.
Debug log is empty, though.
