Just wondering if in the mods future there might be a custom throne room kind of thing for The Kingdom of the Claw or custom armor or anything like that? And thank you so much for the mod already! It is incredible and ive had so much fun with it! And now that i think about it after re-reading some stuff, is there a future plan for a court item for the Kraken horn? just as like a pedestal item kind of? idk that would be really cool to have as a court artifact kind of thing

I thank you for your amazing mod. No need to apologize. It is your mod which you made available for free for all of us. You are a gentleman and a scholar. I salute you.

UPDATE: I apologize to everyone for over a year of silence - I'm much better at playing than modding. But it's done; the mod is updated to the latest version of AGOT. I fixed bugs, rebalanced all bonuses, made some some changed to make it compatible with what AGOT adds to this titles. I hope you enjoy it - let the Red Crab triumph once more!
Other Alex Jun 21, 2024 @ 12:40am
Papi plz update. I need to make the 8 and give Westeros crabs!
FantasticMrFox Jun 12, 2024 @ 1:36pm
I loved this mod and would love to see an update. I understand that doing this by yourself is incredibly tough so maybe you could reach out to the AGOT main team? They work with submodders constantly and incorporate their mods into the main one. I believe this has that level of quality and potential.

Hey Biniu! Big fan of this mod. Any chance we can get an update for the new major expansion that came out?
OvocinKár Feb 25, 2024 @ 5:51am
Is this mod still being updated?
Because in the name of the mod it says so, but Im not sure if the author just didn't forget to change it. Last we heard from him was around 8 months ago and I really liked this mod back in the day.
Hope to hear from the author.
TheOneNation Feb 23, 2024 @ 10:47pm
Hey, this seems like such a fantastic mod concept! Are you aware of whether it still functions, or does it require an update?

agot has been updated three times this week and now has a submod core that bypasses the need for patches, so long as you load core before other submods. are you still plannin' on updatin' or has progress halted due to the aforementioned lack of assistance?

AGOT is finally updated and I started working on new version, which will be focused mostly on compatibility (a lot of files changed) and making modifiers less OP

Fully agree that the Celtigars are smart and cunning.

When I think of Celtigars, I think of survival, and a crab will do anything to blend into the sand. I believe the real reason why they moved out of Valyria was that they knew there was no opportunity for them as a lower house. They have avoided mixing with high-profile houses due to the dangerous ties to allegiances and only in roles where it is economically advantageous for them, like Coinmaster. They already survived multiple Targaryen civil wars to know the risk of power and dragons isn't worth it, much less associating with them. They hoard their wealth, secure their land, and made advantageous dealings/postings.

When you factor in these canonical traits the house exhibit, they are far from the Valyrians we see in Targaryens. They are opportunists. Valyria is dead and gone - an empire of ashes, like the dragons and the Targaryens.

i could poop a shit with more steel in its belly than ANY ONE of you celtigar FREAKS
Багряный Jun 20, 2023 @ 1:19am
Where is it written that Valyrians were not in power in Valyria? The only difference is that the Celtigars and Velaryons didn't have dragons. Also, we don't have the entire Celtigars family tree, there may have been consanguineous marriages, but not as common as the Velaryons and Targaryens. In any case, they, as immigrants from Valyria, are representatives of the Higher Valyrian culture. In addition, perhaps they can summon the Kraken. In addition, the Celtigars are smart and cunning enough to hide their treasures and abilities from others.
Mr.SandwichMan Jun 19, 2023 @ 3:15pm
If the Celtigars were of pure aryan High Valyrian stock I think the Targaryens would have married into the family at some point to add a little more genetic diversity like the Velaryons.

Plus it fits with the Targaryens origins as being one of the weaker of the 40 Dragon Families and flew to the outer edges of the empire to Dragonstone with almost nothing but their two most loyal vassals. It makes sense such a minor family (before the Fall of Valryia) might not have entirely High Valyrian vassals.
Biniu  [author] Jun 19, 2023 @ 6:32am
Celtigars have lived in Westeros for several hundred years, never had their own dragons, never married into the Targaryen family and most likely into other Valyrians as well. At the time of Robert's Rebellion and later, nothing in Adrian Celtigar description speaks of valyrian appearance or special attachment to ancient traditions. To tell the truth, I don't understand why you consider westerosi valyrians inferior. In my opinion, making them as such is a good representation of the gradual integration of Celtigars and Velaryons into Westeros, almost 400 years after the fall of Valyria. And if you don't like it so much, you can always change their culture with culture, select gamerule to allow conversion into high valyrian, click on the decision in my mod or wait until we get ealier bookmarks
Biniu  [author] Jun 19, 2023 @ 6:32am
@Veresh1989 This indicates that they had some influence at court in the first decades after the Conquest (and were renowed for their financial expertise), but none of these positions gave great power and were not followed by marriages with the Targarenes. Velaryons are more important in every way, up until Dance of the Dragons. Just because they were considered capable in financial matters and had VS axe, does not mean that they upheld the traditions and language of ancient Valyria. Nor does anything suggest that they made sure to marry only people with Valyrian appearance. I'm a big fan of House Celtigar (hence I created this mod), but I absolutely do not consider them High Valyrian during Robert's Rebellion bookmark and I don't think that's a bad thing. What other family would fit as the most important representative of the Westerosi Valyrians - Longwaters or the Scales? about whom maybe a few sentences were said in the whole song of ice and fire.

"Historical Members
Lord Crispian Celtigar, master of coin to Aegon I Targaryen.
Lord Alton Celtigar, Hand of the King to Aegon I Targaryen.
Lord Edwell Celtigar, Hand of the King to Maegor I Targaryen and later master of coin and lord treasurer to Jaehaerys I Targaryen.
Lord Bartimos Celtigar. Sat on the black council of Rhaenyra Targaryen. Later became her master of coin.

The Celtigars' castle is rumored to hold fabulous treasures that bear witness to their wealth. Among Lord Ardrian Celtigar's property there are Myrish carpets, Volantene glass, gold and silver plate, jeweled cups, magnificent hawks, a trained sea eagle, an axe of Valyrian steel, chests of rubies, a horn said to summon krakens from under the sea, and many fine wines."

The Celtigar have always been closely associated with the Targaryen. In addition, they must be with very high management skills, in a modification for some reason, the head of the house specializes in diplomacy.
Mr.SandwichMan Jun 18, 2023 @ 6:12pm
@Veresh1989 That's how it was in the CK2 mod, i think its to try and explain why the Targaryens never tried to marry off family members to keep the bloodline pure like they did with the Velaryons and why they were considered less important.
Багряный Jun 18, 2023 @ 1:09pm
Fine. But you yourself admit that the Celtigars and Velaryons came along with the Targaryens from Valyria. That they were very close to the Targaryens. How can they stop being High Valyrians then? Other people make mods too, so from a gameplay standpoint, High Valyrians has an advantage. Westerosi Valyrian is already a hybrid adaptive culture that is relevant to houses that have never been in Valyrian itself, but have inherited from the Celtigars, Velaryons and Targaryens.
Biniu  [author] Jun 18, 2023 @ 11:44am
We won't even get High Valyrian province (maybe except small part of Old Volantis), so it's a dead culture - you won't get culture head, you won't get innovations or new traditions, it's also impossible to reform it. Westerosi Valyrian culture is safe and alive on Driftmark and Claw Isle, a hybrid between high valyrian and westerosi customs - and I like it so much! And as I said, you still have an option to became High Valyrian in my mod - just became king of the claw, learn high valyrian language and find this decision in menu
Biniu  [author] Jun 18, 2023 @ 11:44am
Celtigars and Velaryons came to Westeros hundreds years before Targaryens and we don't have any informations that they too were used to incest or married only with other valyrians. So I could agree to make them High Valyrians if we get bookmarks before conquest and a bit longer for Velaryons (as they married a lot with early Targaryens until Dance of the Dragons). I don't think that Westerosi or Essosi Valyrians are worse than HV, just different. And in fact, the way that culture work in Ck3 (with culture head and traditions) I think they can be better in term of gameplay.
Багряный Jun 18, 2023 @ 10:37am
In the book canon, the Celtigars, Targaryens, and Velaryons belong to High Valyria. These 3 great houses have preserved customs and culture. It's very strange that you, as the creator of the mod, are kicking the Celtigars out of High Valyria.
Biniu  [author] Jun 18, 2023 @ 9:26am
@Veresh1989 This is not a bug, but a design choice AGOT modders, dating back to the days of Crusader Kings 2. In the game, the High Valyrian culture is an extremely small group, still maintaining the traditions of ancient Valyria, their language and customs, and not integrating with the local population. In fact, its only living representatives of these are the Targaryen family, the early Velaryons and some ancient families living in Old Volantis. It is much easier to find people who have Valyrian blood in them, but who, over the centuries, have become intertwined with the local population: this mainly applies to westerosi and essosi valyrians. Celtigars absolutely fit into this group and I have no intention of changing their starting culture. In my submod you have the option to convert to high valyrian culture later in the game anyway
Багряный Jun 18, 2023 @ 7:11am
I liked the modification, for a small house it is interesting to start. But I don't understand why the Celtigar don't have the High Valyrian culture. They are one of the 3 surviving houses of Valyria. Perhaps you can fix this error?
Biniu  [author] Jun 12, 2023 @ 3:48am
@EnumaEllis Well, that weapon would require new weapon model and I have very little experience in doing such things, so unfortunately no. Maybe when we receive similar valyrian steel artifact in CK3AGOT I could steal its model and gave it a new name, but thats it.
@Ronny3_16 Yeah, I'm aware of modifiers being OP and I've toned it down in new version, which I release after CK3AGOT will be updated
@Fenrir sorry for late response - I think it will be kinda compatible, but decision of creating duchy of claw isle could be redundant
