@Further testing shall commence. I will find a solution.

@Moonshine Man Yeah, I love this game too. If I used to love Sengoku era, then as soon as Boshin came out, I started playing it only. :)
I apologize, I again have the same problem as before - again the game with these mods does not start. And apparently the problem is the same as before - some mods are no longer compatible with the game. Tried reinstalling and deleting the “Creative Assembly” folder, still crashes. :)

@Doodlezz I try my best. I do love the game.

After a year, back again to your wonderful build. :) I see you don't forget about it, you update it. You're very good.

@𝓙𝓐𝓨𝓓𝓞𝓖 :-) The first thing I would do is go to the main files for the game and delete all the mod files in your Shogun 2 data folder. The quickest way to do that is to go to Shogun 2 in your library, right click and click on "Browse Local Files". This will take you into the main files that have all of your raw mod files, they will be in a folder titled "data". Delete all the files inside that folder.

After that, go to the Shogun 2 folder through the AppData folder.

This PC->Users->(insert PC username here)->AppData->Roaming->The Creative Assembly->Shogun2->scripts

Once you get to the scripts folder, delete the user.scripts file. Then go back to Shogun 2 on Steam and verify the local files. Then delete all the mods in this collection and reinstall them.

Thanks, Moonshine Man, but I have a peculiar problem having ONLY a selected amount of mods being able to be loaded up, i don't know why, but i intend on clean resetting the game and remove all data pertaining to mods. Is there a simple way i could do that?
Moonshine Man  [author] Oct 5, 2024 @ 11:20am
@𝓙𝓐𝓨𝓓𝓞𝓖 :-) I haven't had that problem but that won't stop me from checking because I just might have to delete the mods I have via the data folder. I will reinstall everything and narrow it down for you. Testing will commence.

When i load up my game with all these mods, the game crashes. Any of these mods incompatible with each other?

@Moonshine Man Competent Approach. :)
Balanced armies are the key to success in the game. Unfortunately AI in the game is always just going for broke, and predictable: frontal attack, and cavalry from the flanks. I hope in the future CA will create a more intelligent AI, so that he used different tactics, there will look and neural network will be implemented in the game. In general, the game's two weakest points are politics and AI, it would be good to work on them.

@Doodlezz I do my best to stick to history so I play as Satsuma, Tosa, or Choshu. Start early game with a healthy mix of Yari units with rifle units and sparse cavalry for Pike and Shot tactics. Mid game consists of rifle armies with a couple cannons with ranged cavalry and sparse melee to support the flanks and participate for when my rifle units clash with enemy units, this is also when I start implementing Banzai Charges when applicable. Late game is armies of rifles and cannons with separate cavalry corps with separate artillery batteries roaming with the cavalry. When I play as the Satsuma, I always keep my infantry that uses swords because as history states, the Satsuma, though modernized wanted to keep the Samurai social class and throughout the Boshin War, still used swords as their sidearms even after the war with units like the Battotai. I use the real-life Imperial Samurai approach.

I noticed one thing, too, by the way. Sometimes I start the game for "traditions", that is, I do not use firearms, guns, ships and the rest (inspired by the film "The Last Samurai"). :D So, for some reason the archers "Bow Kachi" are only on the first level of Dojo, and on all the rest they disappear somewhere. I guess they become so tough that they reject long-range combat altogether :D tough samurai.

@Doodlezz You're welcome. I like to stay a little bit more closer to history when it comes to the build I use, I usually play on Legendary so it coincides more with stuff that actually happened during that time like the Shogunate side using rifles with more traditional style melee fashions, however, I will look for mods that make the Shogunate a little more aggressive so the collection will have more mods added onto it at some point when I find other ones that work.

@Moonshine Man What I liked in Master Of Strategy Sengoku (Fots), is that there was a limit on each type of troops, you can not recruit huge shooting armies, had to combine different types of troops, even peasants with spears, as each unit on the account. And to increase the troop limit, you have to upgrade upgrades 1-4 lvl, wasn't a bad idea.
I'll have to look for sub-mods in your build, maybe I'll find something interesting, but of course it's a matter of taste, and as we know, everyone has his own. Thank you again for responding to my comments. :)
Doodlezz Dec 18, 2023 @ 9:55am
@Moonshine Man Thank you very much, now the mod is working perfectly. :) I see you removed the graphics mods from your build, I guess they were the issue.
I played a couple of hours, on Hard/Hard difficulty. It was very easy to play, as the computer hires mostly traditional troops, less modern with guns, and constantly builds Dojo, which is also not very. I wish there was a mod for the AI behaviour to be exactly the opposite. :) There is certainly an option to remove completely peasants with spades, as they are essentially cannon fodder (useless), which the computer really likes to hire.

@Doodlezz I believe I may have fixed the problem, I took some mods out of the collection that were causing me crashes. I used the CA Launcher to widdle it down and I quit having crashes with this current build so it should all be in working order. Check the collection again, enable the mods currently present, and give it a try. If problems still arise, let me know.

@Moonshine Man :steamhappy: and my acquaintance with the Total War series started with Empire, I could play it 24 hours a day. But now it's already hard to play it, as the game is outdated and boring. The hope was that CA will release a new part of Empire, but seeing what games they release, the hope is less and less, and if it comes out, the game is not what you expect to see.
Moonshine Man  [author] Dec 17, 2023 @ 11:15am
@Doodlezz As do I. Along with Napolean, this is my absolute favorite Shogun 2 is my favorite Total War game and one of my favorite games period. And don't worry, I will tinker and fiddle until I get the collection working right.
Doodlezz Dec 16, 2023 @ 2:05pm
@Moonshine Man Thank you very much. :) I love this part of the Total War series, no matter how many times I play, I never get bored. Always wanted to have a historical mod build as much as possible.
I have tried different mod builds, and stopped on Master Of Strategy Sengoku (MoSS) for the usual Shogun, and Master Of Strategy Sengoku (Fots) for the fall of the samurai, but these builds have serious holes and they feel like not finalised, especially the build to Fots. Your build I have not seen before, and judging by the mods that are included in it, it seems to be really good, but I can not run unfortunately. :D
Moonshine Man  [author] Dec 16, 2023 @ 1:31pm
@Doodlezz I will work further to figure out the problem. Personally when I use these mods all together, I don't have a problem but I shall do some testing and moving stuff around to try and make it work better for you because maybe my game isn't implementing them all for some reason. I do not wish to have a build that doesn't work. Further testing shall commence.
Doodlezz Dec 16, 2023 @ 11:49am
@Moonshine Man Anyway, a lot of time has passed since I wrote to you, but the problem has not been solved. Maybe I write to you for nothing, but I tried everything that could be, and your option, and even a pirate copy downloaded with mod manager, and in user.script prescribed, all that could be tried I applied all options, nothing helped. Then I found out on TWcenter from a user that Mod Manager in styme now works as before perfectly well, the problem is not in it. I started to test your mods in the build one by one, and found that many of them conflict with each other, about 8 pieces, I did not write them down as I was already upset and gave up trying to run your build again. Now here is the desire again appeared, maybe there is hope to run the assembly ... have you run it for a long time? Does it work normally now? After all, the mods may not be updated and outdated.
I also ran for example the "Moss" mods and it works fine, along with many sub-mods, strange thing.
Moonshine Man  [author] Dec 4, 2023 @ 12:53am
@Doodlezz Are you using the mod manager within the Creative Assembly Launcher? If so, this is the incorrect method of launching the game. Go to Properties and click on the Workshop tab. Enable the mods in this collection through said tab and make sure to keep the Workshop tab open in the background at all times while playing. Then launch the game directly through the game files. Click on Manage and then Browse Local Files and launch the game through the Shogun 2 application within the files. I believe when CA first implemented the launcher, I had this same problem with mods I had installed beforehand. This should fix the problem. I know it is kind of a pain to do this every time but it's how I learned to use other mods and mod combinations I had before the CA Launcher came along and ruined it. Doing this should circumvent the crashing problem while also not having to deal with the pain-in-the-neck Creative Assembly Launcher. If anything else goes wrong, let me know.
Doodlezz Dec 3, 2023 @ 10:51pm
@Moonshine Man Thanks for the answer, but did not help, still crashes on the splash screen. Tried to put the blood mod and at the beginning and end of the mod manager, and disconnected the mod, all the same crashes out of the game, I do not understand what the problem. Spent a lot of time on the different order of mods, nothing helped.
Moonshine Man  [author] Dec 3, 2023 @ 8:44pm
@Doodlezz Not a problem, do the Bit Better Blood mod first. That is all.
Doodlezz Dec 2, 2023 @ 7:28am
Tell me please, in what order should be the mods in the launcher? Otherwise I am crashing out of the game.
