So with both vanilla and this mod smoke and dust are mostly gray.
If you could re-texture or replace the gray dust with brown dust I think that would make a night and day difference. As it would give the effect of actual dirt getting kicked up like we see in real life and blastcore murr edition for example
keeping some gray is probably a good idea but making the overwhelming gray into an overwhelming light earthy brown may work wonders for this mod!
I haven't made any changes to these effects, and they seem to be working as expected in testing.
I'll push an update and see if that fixes the issue.
Thanks Wenza
Some lighting effects were fixed.
I would very much appreciate any feedback about the new blastwave effects!
Odd, I only changed one small value for one particular explosion type in the last update... I'll take a look and see if I can replicate the issue
Can you detail me which munitions / explosion effect this was happening on?
No, I have not made any changes to the SOG explosion effects
May be you can make a global variable that we can set by script to turn it on/off.
But don't take me so serious, your mod is amazing and i'm installing it in my server right now.
At the moment, you need to remove the refraction pbo file to disable the refraction effect, I don't yet know how to set it up so it uses addon options. I will be releasing each effect addon individually soon to make it easier.
Both server and client must run the mod for it to synch in multiplayer
I may look into it (no promises yet) but if I do, it will be a separate addon for Photon, like my Smoke effects.
This mod does not change small arms impact fx
Should be fine with Enhanced Missile Smoke
Will throughly check later, and get back to you (just wanted to quickly check with you JIC)
I can't seem to e able to replicate your bug on initial testing - can you specify which map you are running, and if you are using any other mods? For lighting, this mod only changes explosion effects and a few 'weapon fired' effects by altering brightness and colour, so I'm unsure how it could affect general lighting on terrains.
(my gpu was having a cry recording, and compression through youtube then steam is crappy)
I have an update for spark fx inbound which I think you will like ;)
Do you mean cookoff effects, like in ACE3 mod? Or just a large amount of sparks on vehicle explosions? Feel free to link me reference footage if that helps you explain
This is an alternative to Blastcore, there's no point running them together as they do the same thing. Photon is a much more FPS - friendly visual FX overhaul, whereas Blastcore is much more intense with extra particle fx. I mean no disrespect to Blastcore, it is beautiful, but it does hit FPS hard.
Just retcon it with some lore that the drone has a really unstable lithium-ion battery that goes pop when it gets destroyed :P
Love everything about this mod.
I don't own the CDLC, so cannot access the config for these drones (I think CDLC stuff is encrypted anyway). Chances are they have it configured to use the wrong size explosion for their drones, which I myself will not be able to fix without patching the drones config files

Just search for the AP-5 Bustard/Roshanak AP-5 (the EAST,WEST,ION variants, etc.) here.

There's also the IED UAV but I think that's fine to keep the same with the massive effect there lol.

Your smoke effects are even better. Great job!
It should be, I don't think there should be any conflicts. Test it and let me know the result :)
