imo this mod is a better option than hang on walls, since there are fewer restrictions and finer movement

If you place an item with the height changed, and then do any other action, when you try to either place or pick up anything near that item, it's height resets completely.
Example: you use the height modification to stack 10 duffel bags all on top of eachother. Then, you eat. When you come back, you place another duffel bag on top of the pile - the entire pile's height is reset, and all the duffel bags are now on the floor, clipping through one another
The mod works fine. You more than likely have a corrupt workshop manifest in your server.

It's Y/Triangle and the left stick/ directional pad to control the x/z level of an object, works fine and solves every placement issue I had with vanilla
Unfortunately only translational positional data (x, y, z) is available for world inventory items, The transformation (yaw, pitch, roll) matrices are hidden away in the java code and not accessible from Lua as far as I can tell.
There's currently no support for gamepad/controller only support. It's on my todo list though I need to look at how controller support/binds are managed.
@JENOVA Absolute
Wasn't aware of that mod but a quick glance indicates it has the same 'bug', it's just due to the game repositioning objects on altered tiles outside of Lua's control. It's not really a major issue though. You can change the keybinds through the regular keybind menu, as indicated. It's just away at the bottom of the list.
The bug where items get repositioned when messing other objects happened with Yu-ti-JP's Hang on the Wall mod as well, but he found a fix. You could ask him for help in fixing that issue with your mod.
I prefer to use your mod over theirs as his mod only allows three set height positions. Meanwhile, your mod allows more precise fine tuning of where you want to place items.
Also, as a suggestion, you could add an option for people to choose their own keybinds.
