I was able to load my save just fine when I updated it so it shouldn't be a problem for you. This update specifically adds stuff and doesn't take anything anyway. The only real difference you'll see is that newly generated Xithid have different genes.

I opened my game today and this mod asked if I wanted to spawn a new faction for it when it already exists on my map. Whether I say yes or no to that, opening my world map after that will show blank terrain where I can't interact, move the camera, exit the world map or anything.

I had plans to eventually integrate this mod with anomaly in some way, and I don't think it will be backwards compatible with 1.4 in that case. But since you seem to want to use it in 1.4, i'll add it back.

Tendrils gene is broken!
Insted of adding 10% psy sensitivity is multiplies x10% so it lowers your psysens 10 times

Also if you mess up with xenotype exporter there's a button to open the folder. Just delete the file with the name of the xenotype you messed up and start over.

2 problems I've found, plus how you, a regular player, can fix:

Tendrils gene dividing psychic sensitivity instead of adding to it
-> Fix with Character Editor. In the add gene window; arrows near the bottom; find the stat, remove it, then add a psychic sensitivity stat.

Xithids and Ghouls both being unable to infect others into joining their xenotype, because their genes are germline rather than xenogenes
-> Fix with Xenotype Exporter Tool, using the patch button. You can either use a gene that allows germline infection (from VFE Lycanthrope) or unclick "genes are heritable" then do the patch, so when they spawn in-game they'll be xithids and ghouls by xenogene not endogene, and be able to use their gene infectors.
You can change their genes any way you want, including any other personalisation you'd like. I make ghouls ascetic and not need recreation, and xithids capable of turning people into ghouls (outland - genetics).

So this may be a silly question, but I can't figure out how to turn colonists into ghouls. The mod listing says it's a surgery but it's not showing up. Are there research prerequisites for it?

For manually fixing the tendril meme, go to steamapps\workshop\content\294100\2940555518\Defs\GeneDefs , open the file with a text editor and modify the values in stat factors . Enjoy the mod

Euh
The tendrils gene is more of a penalty than a bonus being a % multiplier it reduces instead of increasing, so these settlers are very, very bad spykers

I was in the middle of making one for goblins but I stopped playing rimworld regularly before I finished it. When I finally find the time to update any of these mods, I'll probably do them all in a batch, and I'll be sure to leave a comment to let people know they've been updated.

I'm confused. Your description says tendrils increase psycic sensitivity, but with my custom super-human, it decreases it. Am I miss understanding something?

Heyo Really Dig your mods, I noticed with Both the Ghouls and Xithid by default the Xenotype is set as Heritable, which means you cant implant their Xenotype and you can only have Kids to produce more, with ghouls being sterile its impossible to produce more ghouls as intended?

Do the illithids require to consume brains to get nutrition? Something that bugs me with those from alpha genes is that they don't. Hoping your mod is different.

Tendril gave me quite a laugh I must say. "Enchancing" my psycaster with this one basically destroyed him. Oh well, should have read the actual numerical bonuses...

About Tendrils worsening psy sensivity - it is possible to set multipliers to something like 1.1, instead of 0.1. Giving them actual increase.
something like this <PsychicSensitivity>1.1</PsychicSensitivity>
At least this can be used as temporary replacement for flat addition.

Any idea why these pawns heads go left and their bodies go right when moving left or sleeping? These are terrors so it might be a feature but if it's not I'd like to fix it. :badgeseller:

@MaxisbestJ: Biotech is the third and latest official DLC for RimWorld, not a mod. This mod depends on it because Biotech is what adds all the genetic stuff that it's using.

Not sure if anyone else noticed this, but the tendrils gene doesn't actually increase psysensitivity, but decreases it - you have it set to x10% psychic sensitivity, not +10%. Otherwise excellent

Sadly, you can't. This mod is very basic and doesn't add any additional functionality like that. It's more about the idea of them doing it off screen then being able to actually do it yourself if you're playing as a Xithid. If I knew how to do that, it would definitely be something I would consider adding in the future, but for now it's just something you have to imagine them doing.

I was aware of that little error when I uploaded this mod, its mostly a false positive. It required me to write a new def file for their faction base type, but I instead just used the default. I do plan to write a custom faction base file for them in the future, it's just a little more involved and the default works just fine besides posting that error in the logs. Thankfully, the mod will still work completely fine regardless of that error.
