If the order is being sent but cancelling, that means the still it is being assigned to can't access the whip vine. If the work order was created as a general work order (in the work orders menu) and just changed to be available to two workshops, the order is probably being assigned to a still that is outside the whipvine stockpile link.

Additionally: The conditions I'm using are:
Amount of Whip Wine is less than 50.
Amount of unrotten Whip Vines is more than 39.
Amount of empty food storage items is more than 2.
Restricted to two stills (Which are both linked to appropriate stockpiles).
Make two barrels.

My other liquor orders (Sunshine,Dwarven Beer,Rum,and Wine,Potato Wine) are using nearly identical conditions, with the only changes being the sought after ingredients. Additionally, the order's conditions menu says that all of its conditions are met.

Bizarre issue. Despite having fifty three fresh whip vines in a whip vine stockpile, barrelled of course, which my whip vine dedicated stills are linked to alongside a stockpile containing barrels and pots, and literally no other job in the fortress looking for whip vines,my work order for making barrels of whip wine keeps cancelling because it can't see them in the linked stockpile.

The "Brew barrel of X" orders for literally everything else I tried never ran into this issue. What's going on?

Yeah sorry I went back in game and counted. K know now, but I never said so

One unit of plants or fruits always produces five drinks, so it's 20 plants for the 100 drink reactions. With an average harvest of three plants per crop plot, seven crop plots will usually produce a barrel every harvest. Ten crop plots may be necessary when the farmers are still low level.

how many plant needed for 100 drank
Kool-Aid! Dec 2, 2023 @ 8:05pm
I will attempt that. Or I will try to drastically increase my farming operation lol.
Droseran  [author] Dec 2, 2023 @ 4:22pm
I added the reactions for "brew some drinks" which will just use whatever stack of plants is brought and make that amount of drink. It'll be random between 5 and 25, since 5 is the largest stack of plants able to be obtained from farming or gathering. If you've updated an existing world from a previous version of the mod, I'd recommend reloading the save and not updating the mod. I tried to mark this new 2.0 version as not compatible with existing saves, but Dwarf Fortress ignores the mod version compatibility still.

Love this mod. But now that it requires 20 of an item to make a full barrel, its way too much. Is there a way to brew as big a barrel as we can? Or otherwise combine stacks of fruit? If not can you please re enable smaller barrels?
Droseran  [author] Oct 24, 2023 @ 5:37pm
Yeah, the plants growths not showing in work orders is a bug in Dwarf Fortress itself.

I added royal jelly to the mead recipe because otherwise jelly takes up all of the jugs and becomes an annoyance trying to empty them for honey. Since jelly is useless otherwise, this seemed like the best way to handle that headache. I wanted this mod to be compatible with vanilla and as many other mods as possible, so removing the royal jelly from honey bees wasn't something I was willing to do here. I may eventually upload a companion mod for this one that replaces the mead recipe with a normal one for just honey, but also removes royal jelly from the game.

Enjoying this mod, but it has some wonky parts. One thing, it seems like brewing fruit shows odd things in the task menu. I was trying to set up a work order to make barrels of raspberry wine and the menu said Requires Unrotten . It still works, and if you pick Raspberry Fruit in the work order conditions menu it works, it just shows Unrotten rather than Unrotten Raspberry Fruit. Seems more a quirk with DF than this mod.

One odd thing about the mod though, it seems like making mead requires both honey and royal jelly. This will cause a lot of work cancellation spam as they assemble the honey needed to make a barrel, then can't find the royal jelly required.

Hey I was unsure how to reach out to you. I'm interested in attempting to make a mod which would allow dwarves to bake pastries and pies and stuff. Do you have any resources for this kinda thing? my coding knowledge is very limited. Let me know if I can reach out to you on discord or otherwise
Infinite Eyes Jul 16, 2023 @ 1:23pm
Yes, making a seperate plant stockpile that the still can only Take items from seems to fix that issue.
Infinite Eyes Jul 16, 2023 @ 1:20pm
When I put in a work order for making full barrels, the plants keep being claimed and taken back to the stockpile, causing the work order to be cancelled because suddenly there isn't enough of them available.

Perhaps I can deal with this using seperate stockpiles for food/drink, and for ingredients.
Droseran  [author] Jul 11, 2023 @ 12:42pm
I didn't know that existed, I will look into it.
BrokenRobot Jul 11, 2023 @ 12:27pm
Would be amazing if this could also include a library entry for dfhack's orders tool! Adding manager orders for all these recipes by hand is a real task 😅

That works. Thanks very much:steamthumbsup:
Droseran  [author] Apr 4, 2023 @ 5:48am
I think this may be a conflict with another mod. I've tried replicating the issue with the following steps:
Creating new world
Installing Advanced Brewing
Embarking, checking still for recipes (present)
Save to main menu
Repeating the above (recipes are available in still)

If you have another mod that affects the dwarven civilization, it may be performing a cut of the Mountain entity and that would remove any added recipes. Try moving Advanced Brewing lower in your mod order, so that it's applying after anything that would be performing entity changes. Let me know if the issue persists.

Yes, Each new world gets the full set of the mods I have.
Droseran  [author] Apr 2, 2023 @ 6:46am
Are you re-installing the mod when you create a new world? Currently, mods in Dwarf Fortress have to be re-installed every time you create a new world, because you can have worlds with different sets of mods active for different play styles.

I've been having problems with this mod.
Install game & mods
Start game.
Full selection of brewing in still
Save and return to main menu
Start new world
no brew barrel or specific brew recipes.

any clues?

If any of my mods cut content, I make a note of that in the description. Otherwise, they're entirely additive and can go after anything that does cut/replace. Of my mods, Pitted Fruits and Remove Plant Alignment are the only ones that make use of cutting, so placing those just after the vanilla mods is safest. As for everything else, placing them as close to the end as possible will guarantee they work. However, my mods don't add these reactions for modded entities, so if you're playing with a mod that adds a new civilization only dwarves or humans will have these recipes. Likewise, if you're playing with a mod that removes dwarves and replaces them with a civilization that doesn't use the [ENTITY:MOUNTAIN] name, these reactions won't show up.

Thanks for your work on these mods. Any suggestions as to load order? I have several installed, and they’re not returning any errors, and I see them loading, but there’s no content (for instance, with respect to this mod, it shows only the option of brewing from plants).
Droseran  [author] Feb 26, 2023 @ 6:22am
@Sarconda As of version 1.4, this mod shouldn't be removing the generic brewing reactions, though it does replace the generic mead reaction with one that requires royal jelly.

@liosalpha I used the compatible version tokens to specify that 1.5 isn't compatible with existing saves, I'm sorry that it's still trying to update existing worlds. If anyone else gets the prompt to update an existing save to 1.5, please tell it to ignore the update. I'm not sure why it ignored that token.
Sarconda Feb 26, 2023 @ 3:55am
If i could make a suggestion - assuming this is possible - let the general 'make drink from plant/fruit' stay. Not having this for my 'whatever plant/fruit'-pile is just not worth being able to specify brewing Plump Helmets specifically
liosalpha Feb 25, 2023 @ 9:14pm
It will lock up the game, use the taskmanager to close DF.
Boot it back up but dont update the save. it will load just fine. pew :steamhappy:
liosalpha Feb 25, 2023 @ 9:10pm
this mod just updated and i got an missing reaction error when booting up the game.
did not say wich

Great mod, offers a lot of flexibility. I can consider this vanilla. Absolute barrel saver.
ErisG96 Feb 6, 2023 @ 12:54am
This is a life (and barrel) saver, thank you so much! No more will my stock piles be overrun with barrels full of piddly dregs ;-;
Droseran  [author] Jan 29, 2023 @ 1:06pm
The original purpose of this mod was solely to stop fruit tree seeds from jamming up other production lines (clothing mainly... "Urist cancels make dye because no empty bags.") As I tested the mod, I realized that it was also very useful just having the individual recipes on their own. Then I realized that I could tweak the recipes to make full barrels of alcohol instead of the small sips made from single stacks of plants.

Originally this mod contained the actions of the Pitted Fruit mod, which removes seeds from tree fruits entirely. After I published the mod to Steam, I found out that the cut operation I was doing to the fruit trees made the mod incompatible with other mods on the workshop. I separated this mod into this one and Pitted Fruits, so that the QOL aspects of this mod could be enjoyed even if Pitted Fruits couldn't be installed.

Is there a reason why you removed the generic brew with fruit reaction?
