I have found that the bandits either take off barricades using weapons or remove them the same way the player does @Flufyfox.

is this mod works with npc mods ? i cant get to work using bandits, since they are basically zombies but modified, or it can be something else ? ^^ Thank You

Just FYI possible bug - I just came back to my B41 base and found all my previously built wooden chevaux de frise have disappeared.

Great job getting this into B42 though.

It's different, it gives different damage values to metal barricades and basic windows.
It also considers what side of the barricade the zombie is hitting from.

I hope life is kind for Brightex, and he returns to update this mod in the future.

@Jold unless you're actively trying to get zombies to get to your base it will not do such a thing. I play on x2 population and with expanded helicopter event as well as pinpoint hearing zombie settings for highest movement in zombie population. After almost 2 months of playtime in rosewood zombies would still attack my base almost x2 a week, in large hordes. And even after leaving my base I would get attacked outside my immediate surrounding very quickly.

So unless someone is playing with very low amounts of zombies and little to no migration, this mod will not make the game 'too easy' but it will just help you defend your base better.

Does a higher number damage mean it kills zombies faster which means things last longer?

@Jold that is not how world rendering works, if you are far away enough the event of a zombie destroying something will not account for the damage that should be taken, only in an area problably a few blocks from you it works

Yeah but is the mod affecting zombies outside the visual range? If so slowly every zombie will die before the player has any chance of meeting them, and what re-spawn values are enough to counter this? Confusing

by default there is some zombie respawn thats a percentage of the current population valie

Won't this make the game too easy? I mean if zombies who are always smashing into everything die with after some time there won't be any left to fight the player...
Or am I mistaken somehow?

is posible to add a blacklist to everything option, to blacklist the undestroyable fences (a blacklist to add is someone make a tile indestructible)? This could solve very much issues in reaven creek and some map mods were zombies get trapped

Does load order matter when combining your wonderful mod here with "Barricade Hurt Zombies." I have both loaded on my server and am trying to figure out why the Barricades are not doing damage to the Zombies.

Found two semi-incompatible mods that are Long-standing Wooden/Metal Structures mod, and this mod seems to reset the structures back to normal and making them destroyable again.

Which is a shame cuz these two mods could pair well together.

@SDgamer - yes, would recommend. I added specific support for this mod in my Vanilla Building Expansion mod. If you set the damage to Modded defenses only then only the spiky log barricades and barbed wire fences will deal damage to zombies.

(and I know of the Chevale de Frise mod, but those take up a lot of space. Spikes attached to walls could be made to not block pathing at all, and have more precision with working 1 tile at a time)

Would be good if there was a mod that had this effect only apply to spikes that you add onto walls (which I know can be done because shelves are thumpable and can be added to walls). That, and maybe special barricades, but special barricades might be difficult or impossible to do because I've never seen anyone make a different kind of barricade via mods. Maybe it's possible but just nobody has done it?

"Barricade" is both a noun and a verb. "Hurt" is both an adjective and a verb. When I saw the mod name of "Barricade Hurt Zombies" I thought it was a mod to barricade zombies but only zombies that are hurt.

"Barricades Hurt Zombies" is not only a more grammatically correct name, but it also avoids the confusion.

@Sketrchman this is a bug with the zomboid game itself, where zombies who die while not rendered don't get their clothes. I used to get it with the Survivors mod

Makes sense as to why barricade hurts zombies, imagine beating down a barricaded door barehanded, of course you'd get injured. Splinters, scratches, lacerations, punctures.

Try testing witha new game with only the 2 mods enabled with damage set to 50 for quick testing

@R4skall i get the same glitch, seem there is a bug that destroys all clothing from zombies who dies off screen from barricades, too many naked zed in front of doors because i play with setting zombies attack everything turned on, if i watch one kill himself or stand behind the door his clothes will not disappear only the ones i do not see die its like if a survivor is going around ripping all their clothes before i could get to them.

The zombies aren't getting damaged by barricades or the Cheval de frise. I've set the barricade type to all three types and they haven't received damage (at least I don't see them taking damage). Any idea?

not sure why bit it seems like zombies clothing is being erased when they die from hitting things. i was in an apartment and every zombie dead at a door had no clothing

well zombies can be damaged by sharp edges of glass since zombies would be already decaying could cut off limbs or in the rare chance they could get stabbed by sharp edges through the head and die just depends on how you wanna look at it
