This mod makes the nature of DF something else, just so pretty! I were wondering if you'd be opposed to me integrating this mod into my overhaul mod?

I'm not able to replicate this being broken, I've done uninstalls and reinstalls and it still works. If I can get it to break i'll fix it.

I would love this (still works for me, in a new game).
But i wish the river stuff was optional. Not a huge fan of the rocks. Maybe if the visual density was toned down a bit?

As someone coming off of the ASCII-only train, my main irk was how ugly the vanilla grass graphics looked on Steam's Dwarf Fortress... aaand this mod now has me constantly looking at the grass sections thinking "wow, this is so beautiful!" ~and I love how the longer grass textures seemingly overlap with adjacent floor/flat tiles like actual overgrowth. 😘🤌 *chef's kiss*

This is a must-have mod, for real.

i tried it... i'm not a fan. the idea is great but the textures just aren't good. they look more like regular textures shrunk to a lower res rather than actual pixel art.
i don't recommend.

Just started a new game to see what the difference would be like without this mod as Ive used this mod for quite awhile - jeeze what a difference. This mod is stilla must have for me in oct'24

i really want a mod that does this but with the different stone floors because its really boring just having the same grey for every single floor and it makes the Circus Tent look way less scary

I've played with this for a month now and can't imagine life without it. I really hope they hire you to add this to vanilla, feels so important to grass variety.

I also like the underground textures you have more than vanillas

Is there a way I can remove this from my saved game? The ground is extremely non-uniform. Every tile is different and it produces an unnatural sight.

i really like what this mod does to the surface and even the first cavern layer, but the second and third layers just look a bit awful (the second layer especially, it looks half way between astroturf and vomit). i wish there was a way to only implement the surface grass changes, or that the model for underlichen and cave moss was redone.

This looks really very good.

I plan to use this mod together with Rounded hills, 2.5d Perspective Walls and Creature Graphics Extended. Since I don't know yet which graphics mods cause problems in DF I wanted to ask if I can expect problems with this combination.

I'm getting crashes on autosave with world updated but save failed. Manual saves cause crash but can be re-loaded with clearing most of the save (additional error following):

My wife is playing next to me with same mods, no errors.

That's just from the most recent, it's any number of the above with it changing each time.

@neph my game also started crashing after updating this mod, which is probably my fault for not realising updating it would ruin my save tbh, but shame cos the one it ruined is my favourite fort :(

Love this, though think the colours could be brought a little bit closer together so it doesn't clash as much with the vanilla style. Still, really good mod and glad it exists!

Any chance you could reduce the number of colors used in this tileset? It's got a bit of photorealism that can clash uncomfortably with the more limited Steam palette in particularly grassy biomes.

Otherwise, amazing mod. Beautiful work (just does feel a bit jarring in places).

I think this is causing crashes after spamming that error to the log that is mentioned below. I would guess a memory leak or something. Great mod tho, good work mate!

Thanks for adding back the variety of grass! I found it odd that they dumbed-down the graphics in the Steam version in that department. Maybe it was still just work in progress though, but I hope vanilla adds all the different types of grass again.

@mathrian its a minor formatting issue and shouldn't affect your game.

a few of the shorter grasses have custom edges that couldn't have a custom edge identifier due to the game's limit on custom transitions. i hadn't removed their edge definitions, and it can't use them without an identifier, so it throw and error. Doesn't actually impact anything though, since they weren't going to be used anyway.

I'll fix it in the next update.

@Foene Varen I've looked into it, i can add waves to rivers, but not to oceans. We'll need to to wait for Bay12 to add graphics tokens to the ocean tiles

Absolutely amazing mod! I photoshopped the texture map for myself to make harvestables and animals more visible. Now it's *chef's kiss* perfect.
