Yes, theres 2 ways you could accomplish that.
the first is easier, but its not automatic. Load your preset in game, then close the game and go to; Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\2904589807\mods\Lazolo Minimal Display Bars and find "MOD Config Options (LazoloMinimalDisplayBars).lua" send that file to everyone and have them paste it in the above folder. that will have their game load the preset.

the 2nd way involves copying and reuploading the mod so you can overwrite the default settings. To do that just load your preset in game, then copy the entire "2904589807" folder. Then you'll have to follow the zomboid modding guide to upload it to steam. make sure you remember to change the Workshop ID and Mod ID when you do that, or zomboid will think both mods are the same one and it'll break everything.

so unfortuantely, b42 broke the persistence code. which means the entire mod is broken.
i can fix it. but its going to take me a while and its going to require a rewrite of a pretty large amount of the mod. so its gonna be a while.

Thank you for any upcoming updates. The other minimal display bar mods don't have a sickness bar and would be great to have it.

i plan on updating all my mods in a few weeks once the hotfixes die down

will this be updated for B42? this is awesome mod but new mechanics, like muscle strain are hard to manage and would be nice to have at least the stamina bar from this mod always visible

not currently, also any changes i make to the mod will delete peoples presets so i probably wont update the mod again.

I'm wondering if you have any plans to add a 'pain' ( getPain() ) value to the mod.

Using dimmer colors is fine, no burn in problems.
I guess just don't use bright af white.

Probably a week yes, I had the bars on my top right corner, left of the wristwatch display.

after looking it up, screen burn happens to phosphor based displays when any part of the screen is too bright for too long.
a short version of what i just read is that phosphor displays have a lifetime and the individual lights degrade with use. the usage rate is dependent on brightness and as the compounds degrade their light output changes. With normal use the lights degrade fairly evenly, resulting it it just dimming or blurring slightly. But, if one part of the screen is significantly brighter than the rest for extended periods of time those lights will "burn out" and cause the after image.

so the takeaway is that its an quirk of your display caused by the white bar being in the same spot for an extended period of time. according to Wikipedia burning should take at least a few weeks to show up. i'm guessing you've had the mod for a while and been playing a lot recently?

No it wasn't flashing, it was working as intended. I had 5 bars, endurance was the brightest white.
If it still happens with the darker colors then it would be concerning.

that is concerning..
burning like that is usually caused by flashing the pixels rapidly.
the mod does redraw the display every frame but it shouldn't ever not draw them.
were the bars flashing for you?

I recommend you don't use white for the color of your bars, it left some burn in on my display...
I switched to darker colors I hope it doesn't get worse I really like this mod.

@majorlink If you're adding it to an already-started game, you need to go to the load menu, select the file, then the mods button to enable the mod for that save. Can't just enable it in the mods menu on the main menu. Not sure if that's your issue, but that was mine. Cheers.

yea im not seeing a little white box for the mod and i dont have any other mods on that show hp bar

its been a while since i've even looked at the code for this mod. Most of the code isn't even mine. i'll keep the mod functional, but i probably wont fix minor bugs unless i decide to do something major with the mod again.

The menu widget renders on the world map, even when "Toggle Always Bring Display Bars To Top" is turned off.

what about changing size of global bar? And display food poisoning ?

I found the problem. I thought that if you don't click accept after changing the bar it automatically saves (because the display of the bar doesn't revert back), but it does not. So the temperature bar didn't break because it was the last one I edited.

I customized the display and after I saved it as a preset it "broke". All bars except for temperature became horizontal (they were saved as vertical), but the threshold lines were still vertical. In the menu it still displays as vertical tho, so if I swap to horizontal display they become vertical with horizontal threshold lines. Also bar's y position is correct, but x is not. Default presets work correctly but they are very small for my screen.

Why does panic not have an icon?

Does it work for multiplayer?

Can I disable the tooltip box when hovering to every bar? I'd like not to have any feedback when hovering the mouse all over or just reduce the amount of info displayed. Also I use x2 font size and I'm trying to keep it all neat and tidy.

I don't know why, but game tells me, that my hunger real value is 0,2+ but my char tells me, then he is so hungry, that he could eat a horse... o.o 0,2 is really far from 1... ._.

wierd. make someone else server admin and have them join in debug mode. see if any errors are popping up

Not sure if this should be a discussion but we just switched from Minimal to Maximum and I am the only user on the server that can see/use the bars. We have tried removing local config files, etc. and the only difference between me and the other users is I am a server admin

I opened the persistance LUA and my custom presets weren't there in either location. I hand edited them in and then they showed up.

Weird. I copied the displaybars folder to the GOG mods directory (including my preset file, now that I see it there) but it does not display as an option.

Where are user created presets stored, in steam and -nosteam mode?

I'm setting up a -nosteam server to play with GOG PZ friends, and my preset did not show up when I was testing the server. I normally play solo in steam mode.

Buddy you're a genius, that was the exact problem, sorry for wasting your time LOL, been a while since I played PZ so I forgot that the save mod list needs to be separately edited into activation in order to work, over 50 other mods I didn't realize they weren't even working T-T

The most common issue i see on here is that the main menu mods list is separate from the saved game mods list.
to edit the save game mods list go to
Load > Edit > Mods
The main menu mods list is copied to any new saves you make, but it doesnt keep updating it once the save is made so you can have different mods on different worlds.

Having this mod on its own, is not showing up in my game, what could be the issue

use Mod Manager Server to set up the mod list.
vanilla zomboid has 2 lists that need to be perfectly synced. one with the workshop ID's and the other with the mod ID's
if one of those is wrong then it wont work.

will i want a setting never ontop lolz no matter what... right now if my mouse touches one alittle it will block my window by popping over top of it...

"always on top" is a setting in the main menu box. its a bit problematic because it also applies to the mouse over popup. if you turn it off it should fix it.

as for linking specific bars together, that's a lot harder than you'd think. but i should be able to do it. i'm kind of burned out at the moment though so i probably won't get to it for a little while

can you add a option when hovering mouse over bar it will not have it appear over top other windows?
in other words i wanna keep all bars under all th pop up windows !!
