this bug has been reproduced in vanilla, and a fix is in the works/planned by the devs. Hopefully said fix , fixes the bug.

I'm running a variety of mods, so it may be a compatibility issue, but the Benson class don't seem to be able to move. I encountered a convoy that wasn't moving, and the ships would rotate in place whenever alarmed, and I encountered a warship group that displayed some of the same behavior - in both cases a Benson class was present. I recorded a video and can uploaded it later, and I will provide a full mod list if needed along with anything else that may be useful

the same damage model available to vanilla ships is implemented into these ships

Hulls, Compartments Composition, Hull Armor / thickens, Equipment & Compartment association, Flooding , Damage Control , Quality Build values, Water Flow Rate/Ingress, and some other stuff I probably forgot.l

Sparky , if you would like to submit a UBE bug report and attach this save, I would be happy to look at it. (two reasons)

A. possibly identify why its not loading
B. possibly fix the issue or at worst keep the issue from happening in a future change.

note, the potential (local scene - a ship changed) is one of the reasons I have thought about actually removing the "compatibility flag" in certain scenarios. however, because mods dont have the ability to use version control in the same manner that you can select a branch of the game. I would have to look into hosting a "previous versions" for users like yourself ,to revert to if this occurs ( i am okay with supporting this if needed)

just double checked.. this was the only mod I use that has changed in the last few weeks.. and I play every day. So.. whatever happened, its the changes in this mod. Thanks anyway, champ. I'll just start a new game.

If the game is stuck loading, that is a different issue entirely

Either a mod got removed that needs to be present again

Or on a rarer circumstance. A vessel which is changed was literally loaded in to the local scene when you saved the game.

You would have to look at the output log and see what message was occurring when loading the save.

Or attempt loading a different save file

The fix specifically targeted the incompatibility message

I finally got it working again through the described steps.
Funnily, all of the generic ships vanished, once I loaded the save.

First try now, re-subbed to the mod, cleared cache etc. No more error on the saves in the list. Saves load fine! Thanks for fixing this!

I agree with @It's Brian. I don't have any third-party mods, but the ships don't sink. They take damage, but they stay afloat, and there are no rewards for sinking

ships do not catch fire due to an issue with the vanilla code, same with ships not having flags. all of this worked in previous versions. I am working on getting them working again, with the upcoming vanilla game patch/dlc.

some ships have hull component issues in game, and dont register damage. but I barely understand the problem, and even less the solution when this occurs.

Do you use the realistic sinking mod from last year?
When I still had that active, in combination with the realistic sinking physics that got added to the game, I had quite a lot of problems with sinking the added ships.
Now that I've removed it, the problems are mostly gone.
On some rare occasions you might come across a ship that doesn't sink.
But if you get the confirmation, that it's been given up, you should still get credit for it, at the end of the mission.

The mod has HUGE POTENTIAL, but when you come across your first ship and it refuses to sink after 50 days at sea, you uninstall the mod.

Plus, the ships don't catch fire, which is pretty sad.

I enjoyed reading that, also I would like to state I have a build of the mod that is nearly ready for release. While it's still not complete it will be the next major patch and a major fix to many of the features lost in the recent game updates. I look forward to hearing more

I also noticed that the "Generic (04)" isn't in the recognition manual.

Yes some ships still have generic filler names

However, in the upcoming patch I believe most of these have been resolved. I can't be sure about 100% of them

Does this mod add the "Generic (pick a number)" and other freighters to the game?
Just had a massive battle with a convoy consisting almost exclusively of those and the buoyancy made them really hard to sink. Some even surviving four torpedoes or more. But I had massive fun with this one, as there was an entire German battlegroup attacking the convoy at the same time. Sadly I couldn't see the surface battle, as the free cameras range is limited. But I saw countless shots flying over the battlefield.

I really love this mod but it causes convoys to be completely stationary and then the boats will float like 200 feet up in the air or will be underwater (not sunken) they also rotate like crazy in one spot they will just start spinning honestly really funny glitch but unplayable currently.

I have to say, I love the mod. Honestly, I don't even care if the ships revolve around my submarine like nothing else. The most important thing for me is that the problem with the convoys has been fixed: they don't stand still and don't move from the spot. As soon as that's fixed, I'll use the mod again immediately, but until that's fixed, it's not really playable.

I encountered about six convoys today, and not a single ship in the convoy was moving. They all stood still in one place as if they had no engines. Even when I was spotted, the freighters, destroyers, and cruisers didn't move and just stood there like idiots.

I'm playing in German and since installing this mod with UBE the names for all the Empire classes and several other freighter types have been replaced by some mis-translations like "Kaufmann" (which means merchant but isn't used as a ship class but refers to a person) or "Fortsendung" (which isn't even a German word).
Same with warships like the Flower and River class. Which are now "Blumen" and "Fluß Klasse" which is rather annoying.
Could this be related to your mod directly?

yeah for whatever reason theres a destroyer in 1939 which already killed my run, it keeps drifting around andd wont go away no maatter how longg i stay and it seems to always know where my sub is even unalerted

Destroyer Vauqelin-Class, Destroyer Le Fantasque-Class, Cruiser Leander-Class and Cruiser Algerie-Class. Since I started a new game, I haven't encountered any other ships besides the ones mentioned and the battleships, and the battleships behaved completely normally. The destroyers and cruisers drifted around my submarine like in Tokyo Drift.

when the Destroyer Spott you they become fast like a Rocket and drift around you as if you were in Tokyo Drift. TBH the ships reactions are all over the place they crash in each other oder speed away with mach 10

does this mod work with ship variable speed? it seems convoys just stay stationary no matter what.
