Also the Gurkani dynasty was turco-mongol, they did have Mongolian blood as well and that is why they claimed to continue the Mongolian empire, its a propaganda thing.

Mughal and Tatar were words used by Muslims about the Mongols.

This is why the Gurkani dynasty, the timurids, adopted the word Mughal for their empire to show their relation to Chingeas Khan and their claim on that empire.

So calling the Mongol empire the Mughal empire is still correct, its just the middle east pronunciation.

The late Mongols of the Ilkhanate would have started using that word themselves later after being persianized.

@justamerp The original mod is based on the Mongolian Empire, as despite its title, the description says, "The Mongolian and Wu civilization is a branch of the Mongolian civilization in the old Shenzhou region." I make note of the mix up in the first paragraph of my description.

yeah, I noticed that too. sadly it seems like the name system is pretty set in stone and obfuscated, it makes doing a bunch of stuff difficult

@Holgast Thanks for coming by! I really loved doing the research for this mod, although it took a lot longer than I thought. I do wish that Rimworld had a system in Ideology or something where you could specify the surname is first and the personal name is last, and it would display correctly or pass on surnames based on that. The nickname system is a little weird to me, it'll occasionally make the surname the nickname, but it doesn't really do that with any consistency.

Tbh, I'm not sure about how the nickname is decided. I also thought it prioritised first name first, but then when I did the Chinese name patch, it sometimes picked one, or the other (more often the actual 'first name', displayed last in Chinese name order). Your name order should be fine and I don't see a problem with it, particularly since it's what we're used to

oh yes, haha, I was a wee bit confused by the mod name too. I ran into the variant transcription thing when I was making a Quechua mod, so I ended up just sticking with a single spelling for each sound. And yes...different name systems are suffering to get working with the game. I still haven't figured out a good workaround for cultures without surnames.

Bayarlalaa! (thanks!)
