@just_another_glinko I am afraid I have to disagree with you there. Mlie and many other folks here are working at a professional level out of their love of the game, or enthusiasm for programming.

We can call it software engineering all day long but there is a passion to this work that makes this high art and the mods, are usually the work of that passion.

This is one of those mods that I'd be happy to pay for, although this is complex work, necessitating that @Mlie dive into the new (now standard) API & programming interfaces regarding this mod.

This is harder engineering work , whether undertaken professionally or personally.

So if a little coin can help motivate or buy some time for @Mlie to spend some time on this - that's great.

If however he's got other more pressing problems or demands on his personal time, even if he was being paid, this is one of those "we are served at the pleasure of the artist" sort of deals.

@just_another_glinko. Mlie doesn't have to do anything for entitled brats like u. He doesn't need to have "motivation" because it is up to him if he wants to update his mods. If that's such an issue for u, maybe u should spit ur dummy out and learn to update it yourself. PS, please don't listen to jerks like just_another_glinko, work at ur own pace. I look forward to Vanilla Books Expanded Expanded (Continued) being updated.

It was continued so good, by sush dedicated people, that liked the original mod just so, so much

that it required another continuation a year after.

Ah, I tried this to see if it would still work on 1.5 and it didn't. I hope it gets an update one day, when you have the time, Mlie! You're seriously the MVP of RimWorld modding.

any possibility to make pawns prioritize reading certain types of books automatically as a work type or something? A way to force pawns to read research books or specific skill books would be wonderful.

@Torres The logic for reading is not part of this mod, that is handled by the main mod.

Hey pawns aren't getting the comfort buff from chairs when they read, they sure go around trying to find the most comfy chair even if that's like 50 tiles away in someone's private quartaer instead of using the normal chairs in front of the bookshelf...

but once seated they won't gain any comfort whatsoever even if on masterwork or legendary seats

@Cathulhu just make sure that all their needs can be met (i.e. the zone allows access to food, hygiene if DBH is installed, etc) and nothing you don't want them to waste their reading time on.

@Cathulhu you can also accomplish this without additional mods by zoning your library, dining room, and bedroom such that you can assign these colonists-in-training to only have access to their basic needs plus your library. If you're replacing all work time with rec time so they can read, this will effectively do what you want.

A smaller modern version of the printing press would be amazing like a spacer tech level 2x1 faster printer and a writing desk with a modern computer that's faster

Is there a possibility of adding a separate Schedule type for reading only? I'd like to assign low-skill colonists to read instead of work without micromanaging their recreation time.

When using the scenario creator to "start with" an ideoligion book, it seems like the ideoligion is random. Is there a way to tie it to a specific ideoligion? or the ideoligion of the colony?

Could you make it so that legendary books can be read limitless. This "This skillbook is not sufficient" when your pawn hits level 20 sucks, they cant use books for recreation anymore and its sucks even more if you are using a mod that lets you level beyond 20.

Is there a way to finish an unfinished book? My writing desk got deconstructed with only 200 ticks left and now the writer is just hauling around an unfinished book.

Why is my pawn hauling a book all the way across the base to read it in an armchair when there is a masterwork armchair, table etc right next to the book case? : (
