I thought about taking it on, but I'm too busy unfortunately.

Silverado Legion Sep 5 @ 2:02pm
I too would love to see this mod come back
BouncingHippo Aug 8 @ 7:37am
would love to see this mod alive again.
doge139 Nov 3, 2024 @ 10:14am
welp, i just finished installing everything. haha, guess i will uninstall. hope we get wither this mod or terraforming soon.. and then Nuke thermo dynamics so we can make reactors :)
nevcairiel  [author] Oct 16, 2024 @ 10:43pm
They keep changing atmosphere behavior, just last night came in a big change again. Honestly they are preparing for their own terraforming, either it'll quiet down at some point and we can fix the mod (and have it last more then a week), or they'll have so many changes in that the mod becomes either a lot easier or even unnecessary .. exciting times ahead. :)

When will this mod be working again
nevcairiel  [author] Sep 30, 2024 @ 5:35am
Indeed, there is a lot of work going on for the terrain and atmosphere updates, and updating Terraforming now would likely just result in it breaking again soon after. So use the named branch if you want to continue playing with Terraforming for the time being
Nitro159 Sep 30, 2024 @ 4:44am
As Powerkek states, use the preterrain version of the game to keep the mod working for the time being. @angel_seed
I reckon there won’t be an update until the terrain and world generation changes are locked in
powerkek Sep 30, 2024 @ 4:13am
I have a temporary workaround. Rolled back to the "preterrain" version, and I start a new game every time then close it before loading my existing save. This avoids the null reference exception.

Mod now is not working
mynamejamesmoriarty Sep 13, 2024 @ 7:53pm
So is it possible to terraform Vulcan? Is it possible to play on it at all (and not to be burned)?
BentoFox Aug 12, 2024 @ 1:40pm
@Elmo
that looks like it worked. Closing the session and saving returns the correct terraforming world state. It also explains a lot why sometimes it seemed to work fine and sometimes it didn't - turns out it was auto-saving.
BentoFox Aug 12, 2024 @ 1:32pm
Actually, nevermind. the whole file resets every time you save. Definitely doesn't work as intended. It appears the function in PostFix creates a wrong TempFile using the AtmosphereSerializer singleton. Mayhaps the object that's actually serialized into a TempFile is not initialized on game load correctly, causing a 'fresh world' trash file to be output?

Here are some steps to reproduce:

Initial Creation Issue:
- start game with mod
- create save
- note atmosphere composition in tablet, which is correct
- leave session (save)
- observe atmosphere is not correct in terraforming_atmosphere.xml
- load the save for absolute pandemonium

Resetting issue:
- manually adjust the terraforming_atmosphere.xml file
- load save (of the .xml above)
- observe atmosphere is as terraforming_atmosphere.xml file said it should be
- leave session (save)
- observe the terraforming_atmosphere.xml file has now RESET
- load the save again for absolute pandemonium

i forgot i had a pending update. try now
BentoFox Aug 12, 2024 @ 1:04pm
It appears as thought the `terraforming_atmosphere.xml` file being created is the same for every planet (1 oxygen, 80 nitrogen, 180 carbon dioxide, 20 pollutant, 50 nitrous oxide).

I removed the file, loaded the world, noted the atmosphere composition and tried to replicate that in the file that was created. Instead of a chilly Europa, I ended up with a blasting furnace europa (+280 degrees).

So I figured, well, the mod page says "Nitrogen & Nitrous Oxide have a cooling effect", so for testing I set it to 50 parts of Nitrogen, nothing else. Did it cool off? Nope, it became 1800*C.

The best attempts I had when I reduced the 'energy' value as well (reduce the atmospheric pressure), though that value appears to reset to maximum on each save ...?
BentoFox Aug 9, 2024 @ 2:26pm
For some reason for me on a relatively new save (don't even have walls yet! Just my Arc Furnace and Autolathe) on Europa, I got to +68*C world temperature after quitting the game and then loading my save? That's a rather extreme terraforming, considering I have 0% CO² in the air and like 0.01% pollutants
cola98765 Jul 26, 2024 @ 7:42am
Did some back of the napkin calculations given my progress and size of the tank...

It seems Venus has about 2Gmol of CO2 in the atmosphere... This is not complaint, just a note for anyone daring to terraform this hell like I'm trying.
Austrene Jul 6, 2024 @ 2:35pm
i'm so annoyed that bepinex isn't on workshop or nexus and automatically updated. whoever decided this was the way to do mods is annoying.
Aesir Jul 2, 2024 @ 1:14pm
how is bepinex installed exactly, do i drop the whole folder or just the contents of the core folder. I dropped the whole thing into the root folder but nothing seems to have changed
BouncingHippo Jun 14, 2024 @ 8:38am
where can i send the log file`?
BouncingHippo Jun 14, 2024 @ 7:11am
new problem.. savefile wont load at all if i have terraforming mod active..
Geneticus Jun 11, 2024 @ 6:09pm
Would like it if the atmosphere color and fog changed as the atmospheric makeup changes...
BouncingHippo Jun 6, 2024 @ 10:47am
ok so everytime i load a backup it resets the atmosphere. solution: save game, close game, load save and atmosphere is back to to what it was and not reset.
BouncingHippo Jun 2, 2024 @ 5:38pm
im getting a reset of the atmosphere when saving. so i have to manually grab values from a backup files and paste in.
quindao May 27, 2024 @ 4:21am
you can manually install it into bepinex without stationeersmods plugin but bepinex is needed
Infiltrator May 27, 2024 @ 2:48am
I just can't get it to work. Can it be done without bepin and the stationeersmods plugin or is that literally the only way to get this working?
Pch91 May 11, 2024 @ 9:57am
Please note: the world atmosphere "total volume" is VERY large, but it's nowhere near realistic (in so many ways). This is intended as an endgame project and to give more purpose to building mega bases. I have tried to put it at a size that would take a mega base designed to process gas a MINIMUM of 100 hours of effective chugging to complete a terraforming project. But this is hard for 1 busy man to test and confirm, so if you find it taking way too long or way too fast, let me know please.

R: put the world atmosphere size in config and allow us change that :D
Kaiho Apr 26, 2024 @ 1:00pm
Ok, I'm way to new to the game for this mod. Is there a way I can safely remove this from my server without breaking it and revert the atmosphere to the default? Once I get more experience with the game then I can attempt it.
Ahlan Apr 15, 2024 @ 10:19am
Noticed an interesting thing, not sure if its a bug. started on europa, which starts with 100% O2 at -144 degrees. a few days later i step outside and its 65 degrees warm and oxygen is less than 1 percent and carbon is at 98 % and pressure went down. any idea what might cause this? I loaded a fresh save of euorpa and its behaving normally, any recommendations/thoughts?

Elmo plans to upload an update soon, hang on.
Render Mar 28, 2024 @ 9:19am
PLEASE UPDATE THE MOD <3
Silverado Legion Mar 25, 2024 @ 5:15am
I'm getting the same issue
PhlippB Mar 21, 2024 @ 11:43am
Looks like the update broke the mod. I keep getting an error when I start a new world or try to load a saved world. 'TerraformingMod.GlobalAtmospherePrecise' threw an exception.
And3as (WeedLike2Play) Feb 20, 2024 @ 8:52pm
I have the same isue like DArmada. Starting a new game on Mars sems to work just fine, but not on Venus. Over 1460°C and 563 kPa starting conditions are a bit too mouch for me.. :D Is there a way to fix it? I use ModLoader and have Plants and Nutrition Mod installed too
TMO-SVK Jan 30, 2024 @ 11:24am
Trying
DArmada03 Jan 24, 2024 @ 4:58pm
been having issues with getting this to work on Vulcan, temp starts at -98c, However i think i've got it to work but i had to make a mars world first, save and leave that save, go make a vulcan map and boom temp starts at the normal temp.
merath Jan 24, 2024 @ 8:39am
then the last is could i ever reles anuf to make a difrnce
powerkek Jan 24, 2024 @ 8:02am
@Scionzenos Could it be because of the new orbital system? Planets have seasons now, and the mod calculates temperature based on solar strength which probably goes up in summer.

@merath Yes, any gas you release will stay there forever and give you a very thin atmosphere.
Elmo  [author] Jan 24, 2024 @ 8:00am
@merath yep
merath Jan 24, 2024 @ 7:54am
will this work on moon with no atmo but have gravty
Tookuss81 Jan 23, 2024 @ 6:54pm
hi all. I am having some major problems installing this mod. My buddies and I want to start a terraforming save, so i installed both of the plugins per the instructions. the only thing i can think of is that i had subscribed to the mod first. is that a problem? i tried to unsub from it, but i think it keeps the file somewhere and I can't find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Soilaq Jan 15, 2024 @ 4:59pm
So maybe if you want to hop from a Terraforming Mars save to a Venus save, remove the mod. Not sure if that will affect terraforming progress on the save if you enable it later again.
Soilaq Jan 15, 2024 @ 4:58pm
This mod seems to not work on Vulcan and Venus. And if you ever load a Venus scenario, your other saves on fex Mars goes crazy with over 400°C day and night and over 200kPa pressure.
Scionzenos Jan 15, 2024 @ 3:14pm
I tried giving this a go on Vulcan but I had to get rid of it due to the atmosphere inexplicably raising in temperature halfway through my playthrough over time. Day 1 the temperature was -150C during the night and 300C during the day. It was this way up to around day fifty it started getting hotter, around day sixty it was up to 1200C during the day. I hadn't made any attempts of terraforming as it was still early, but I had let trace amounts of O2, H2O. N, ect into it. Not sure what was causing this or if its intended for Vulcan.
HealMustGoOn Jan 14, 2024 @ 9:47am
this mod is awesome !
nevcairiel  [author] Jan 12, 2024 @ 3:10pm
@Bendl: thats exactly what I meant, because it was updated on January 3rd already. I naturally assumed people used the workshop version, as you are here on the page afterall :D

But Elmo also published a release on GitHub now, so all good.
Elmo  [author] Jan 12, 2024 @ 12:11pm
my bad, i forgot about the github release page
