can we make this map work on cs2 ?

I's a good strategy for Valve, they now control everything about bots, then you have 2 choices : play against 90% of cheaters or against idiot bots, that's make me pitty.

I had plans for a more advanced team economy but never really got around to it. As for weapon pickups they were hard disabled by Valve in the code. I could've created workarounds but they'd be prone to bugs so I didn't bother.

Were you trying to teach them economy strats and weapon pick-ups?

Their aiming and shooting mechanics are set by behavior scripts

@dr.moon Not when you're running my map. It has it's own custom botprofile packed with it.

Does bot_profile.db affect this bots?

It's actually impressive that they've managed to downgrade bots further in CS2. At this point it's better to just remove them from the game.

Unfortunately that's not enough. They'd need to allow server side Lua scripts (I think it's Lua in Source 2?) or that "Pulse" scripting stuff they use. Technically adding just the bare bones support would be possible since they have training day running but more advanced stuff I use would require that.

What about custom client side items that have been added not long ago?

im glad i got to play this before cs:2. but yes the bots really leave a lot to be desired now. if you get the framework done for cs:2 i hope you will also include other maps. i would love mirage. thats my favorite map. but if anyone can fix the bots its the bot wisperer!

If anyone is interested, I found out why "Replay training day" feels so much better than a normal bot practice match: have a look at steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\csgo\cfg\gamemode_new_user_training.cfg. They are using a script called scripts/ai/practice/newplayer_dust2_01.kv3 for that. Maybe Bezimienny can start hacking that:)

Yeah I'm gonna have to figure out Source 2 tools and script system before I can do anything. Hopefully it will still be possible to do a project like this.

No, just run the map from the "Workshop maps" tab with the desired difficulty level

Yeah sorry you can't give them commands. Behavior tree system doesn't have support for player to bot communication

I dont get it, besides alt weapons and the same 5 basic strat, all you did was give them better wall and aim with inhumane reaction. Just not really an improvement
