Thank you for being aware of it! Enjoy your vacation!
pani3105 Aug 7 @ 3:24pm
Yay, thank you! I hope you have a wonderful vacation!
Daniel  [author] Aug 7 @ 1:33pm
Thank you for the kind words. Yes, I will update it, but I can't promise to do it very soon. I'm on vacation next week, maybe I'll find the time then.
pani3105 Aug 7 @ 12:44pm
I love this mod and how it doesn't add or subtract anything major from the game, and just use it to make archite genes extractable. Thank you for making it! Are there any plants to update for 1.6, or does it just work with 1.6?
Necrosx Oct 3, 2024 @ 6:00pm
Are we not supposed to be able to extract things like infectious bite or dracul and such?
SumYungGuy Aug 24, 2024 @ 5:02pm
Something in your mod is preventing Ghouls from entering the extractor
SumYungGuy Jul 9, 2024 @ 1:40pm
Is it possible to add sliders for the probability that genepacks will have 1/2/3/4 genes?
Harold G.B. Apr 25, 2024 @ 1:49pm
It worked! :holyflame: Thanks so much!
Harold G.B. Apr 25, 2024 @ 1:34pm
I will try that and post any update!
Daniel  [author] Apr 24, 2024 @ 11:50pm
@Harold G.B. have you turned off the per-genepack metabolism limit in the mod settings?
Harold G.B. Apr 24, 2024 @ 5:46pm
It seems like I can't extract Archite Metabolism. I have only had this problem after 1.5. Could this be a bug?
دانيال أيفان مولا Apr 13, 2024 @ 9:22pm
Thanksss
Daniel  [author] Apr 12, 2024 @ 2:51pm
Updated to 1.5, let me know if there are any new bugs.
دانيال أيفان مولا Apr 11, 2024 @ 8:03pm
Oh damn, tyt man, farewell!
Drago Duval Apr 11, 2024 @ 5:05am
Then focus on your job (And the future of our world), modding can wait :D.
Daniel  [author] Apr 10, 2024 @ 11:58pm
Yes, but it may take a bit. I'm currently super busy preparing the next semester for my students
دانيال أيفان مولا Apr 10, 2024 @ 6:58pm
my man, can u update this
Drago Duval Jan 20, 2024 @ 1:38pm
We do need a option to set all weight to the same value.
4D Jul 8, 2023 @ 7:22am
Would it be hard to add a togglable (so you wont change it accitentally) option to change the weight of ALL the genes? Basically for all of them to be randomised in the extraction.
Or just a toggle to make them all 1 in general, that way you dont really have to change anything else.
Thanks!
tayinky Mar 21, 2023 @ 4:27am
thank you very much :>
Daniel  [author] Mar 21, 2023 @ 12:10am
You're thinking correctly. A gene with weight 4 is four times as likely to be extracted as a gene with weight 1
tayinky Mar 20, 2023 @ 11:32pm
How exactly do weights work? If i want the archite genome to be rare do i make it like 1 or am i not thinking correctly :c
Daniel  [author] Feb 5, 2023 @ 12:23am
@ec#2718 on Discord that's two good suggestions. Will implement when I'm done with my master's thesis around April.
ELLIOTTCABLE on Discord Feb 4, 2023 @ 11:57pm
Oh, oh boy - a search field (and category-collapsing) would be fantastic additions to the U.I. for when you've a bunch of gene-adding mods installed. Oof. hahaha.
Micah Dec 21, 2022 @ 7:14am
I don't understand the Archite setting being 0. I have extracted Archite genes (though always in combination with other things) in the vanilla game, yet the settings imply that this should have been impossible without this mod. Am I misunderstanding something?
莫名某某 Dec 4, 2022 @ 6:29am
Almost perfect work. I subscribed to two of your genetic mods, but both were designed to do one thing: isolate the damn hybrid genes:steamfacepalm:. So do you have any intention of coming up with a mod that can separate genomes into individual genes?:steamhappy:
Pudding Nov 28, 2022 @ 12:46pm
Ooh alright I'll try that, thanks :)
Daniel  [author] Nov 28, 2022 @ 12:38pm
@Porcy tick the "Ignore metabolism limit" checkbox in the settings.

In vanilla, genepacks can only have between -5 and +5 metabolic modifier. Since Archite Metabolism on its own is already beyond that, it is always rejected when trying to add it to a gene pack. By using the option to ignore said limit, it extracts just fine.
Pudding Nov 28, 2022 @ 12:29pm
Hi, it looks like it's impossible to get the "archite metabolism" as a lone gene, I even tried putting all the rest to 0 and archite to max and it just gives me empty genepacks
drsavagethe1 Nov 26, 2022 @ 10:16pm
Is there a way to remove xenotype genes once implanted/separate genes found in gene packs when recombining them or are they set as a pair?
Daniel  [author] Nov 8, 2022 @ 4:51pm
Brain: Psychic Reader 🧐
TheSevenSins Nov 8, 2022 @ 4:47pm
ohh, I haven't checked today, thank you very much! Guess you read my mind XD
Daniel  [author] Nov 8, 2022 @ 4:45pm
@TheSevenSins it already is, since yesterday. Unsub and Resub to the mod to force Steam to update it on your end, and you should be good!
TheSevenSins Nov 8, 2022 @ 4:12pm
would it be possible to put the genes in categories? I would like to edit archogene settings, but I have so many genes that any pages showing all genes lagg quite a bit
Daniel  [author] Nov 8, 2022 @ 7:30am
@zapcracklepop ironically, although they're both my mods, I haven't ever used them together because I don't actually play with gene ripper. But I'll just assume they're compatible because they have nothing to do with each other - the methods used to select the genes extracted are separate. So you should be able to use them both, in either order. If you run into issues, please let me know and I'll fix them for you.
zapcracklepop Nov 8, 2022 @ 7:20am
Is this compatible with Gene Ripper? If so, what order should they be loaded in?
Daniel  [author] Nov 7, 2022 @ 12:31pm
@SalazarWindriver I followed your request to group genes in the settings screen, and added an override slider for each category.
Daniel  [author] Nov 7, 2022 @ 6:30am
@Snool just looked at their code, and More Gene Complexity doesn't interact with this mod at all. I think you mean that the gene assembler continues to limit metabolic rate to -5 to +5, right? That's something I don't interfere with. The option to ignore metabolic rate limit on my mod only deals with individual gene packs at time of extraction. If you check it, an individual gene pack might give you a set of genes that go beyond -5 or +5 metabolic rate. You still need to offset that with other gene packs in the Gene Assembler.
Mok Nov 7, 2022 @ 5:59am
i tried to use this with the "More Gene Complexity" mod but it seems like it prevents the option to ignore metabolism
Daniel  [author] Nov 6, 2022 @ 3:44pm
@SalazarWindriver in the meantime, you can go to your local appdata folder, navigate to Rimworld/Config, and copy the config file of my mod to share it between machines.
Daniel  [author] Nov 6, 2022 @ 3:38pm
@SalazarWindriver yeah, I've thought about that. Will do in time. My next stop is a mod that adds a gene for Natural Meditation Focus to all tribals, allowing it to be passed on to offspring. It felt like the natural way to implement it. But after that, I'll fulfill your request. Think maybe a week - It's late today in Germany, and I have to work on weekdays.
SalazarWindriver Nov 6, 2022 @ 3:35pm
Love that you made the ripper. is there any chance you can add a grouping option to this mod? I switch between 2 computers and for some reason, mod settings aren't/don't sync even on the same save, and having to adjust each body eye and hair is kind of a pain.
Daniel  [author] Nov 6, 2022 @ 3:30pm
Well, all y'all gene-hungry Rimworlders. You wanted to kill pawns extracting specific genes, so I made a little something for you: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2885485814
SalazarWindriver Nov 6, 2022 @ 1:54pm
@K[A]iFoLoG the slider is the chance to get the gene, common genes are 3 and the harder to get are 1, 0 is never. If you want the impossible as rare as body types set to 1 if you want as common as the rest set to 3 if you want them more common set higher... also need to check ignore metabolic limit for some since they are higher than allowed by vanilla. Disable is set to 0
Mok Nov 6, 2022 @ 1:49pm
could you also add an option to increase complexity?
Mario Nov 6, 2022 @ 1:39pm
what does sliders do in mod settings?
How can i disable unwanted genes?
How can i rebalance genes?
Raider Nov 5, 2022 @ 7:57pm
yes generipper please haha
posthum Nov 5, 2022 @ 1:11pm
I third the desire for a gene ripper mod
Kotobike Nov 5, 2022 @ 7:55am
yes i want this mod "gene ripper". You could insert a pawn, select one gene from their genome, and have it violently extracted, killing them in the process. but I can't find it such a mod :(
Daniel  [author] Nov 5, 2022 @ 7:04am
@Kupie @SalazarWindriver while I don't want to add this into this mod because I don't want to change the vanilla mechanics too much, I think your idea is great for another mod, introducing a "gene ripper" building analogue to the subcore ripscanner. You could insert a pawn, select one gene from their genome, and have it violently extracted, killing them in the process.
